As in... What would WORK, not "let's pair off our biggest favorites":

Here are some ideas from me:

1. Lady Blackhawk + Captain America Both are fishes out of temporal waters, and not only that, both are from WWII! Both are Badass (semi)Normals.
I could even consider a LI plot!

2. Batman + Daredevil Both use costumes to scare the lowlife. Both fight to clean out wretched hives. Both fight mainly non-super villains.

3. Any of the following: Electra / Silver Sabre / Black Widow + Black Canary / Huntress / Batgirl ...Well I don't think I need an explanation for this one.

4. Batman + Iron Man Not an even match, but rather an interesting clash. Both are rich, both use that wealth to fight crime and to improve everyday life.

5. Marvel!Hercules + Wonder Woman Definitely a clash (at first). WW hates DC!Hercules for raping her mother, while Marvel!Hercules is not like that, at all. A big ham and a mansl.. yes, but never NEVER a rapist!

6. Thor + DC!Hercules Now here will be some epic fighting when Thor realizes what a sleazeball this guy is...!

Batman Brave and the Bold Aquaman asks the Bat family for help when his son has to study abroad and Blue Beetle recommends Gotham most particularly as he's studying there...

BBatB Aquaman meets the Teen Titans?

Cyclops and Zatanna are accidentally set up on a blind date after Cyke discovers Namor is dating Emma Frost and Zatanna is tricked into miscasting a spell thats supposed to strand her in a parallel earth only to end up with Cyclops who ends up helping her finding her a way back but they end up on a blind date after Circe uses this as payment to help Zatanna.

The Justice League looking for Zatanna end up fighting the Avengers when they attack the mansion searching for Hope Summers...

The X-Men looking for Cyclops end up fighting the Legion of Doom except thanks to the Cosmic Cube they call in every mutant team including Magneto and his Brotherhood of Evil and they end up going for a meal whilst Lex Luthor and Magneto argue about whose right... thats before Magneto leaves Lex hogtied inside his newest suit of power armour and joining the others for a peaceful afternoon in New Orleans before returnign to their own version of Earth since even the Brotherhood can't stand the Legion of Doom!

The Teen Titans meets the Runaways?

Sym-bionic Titan meet Megas XLR and introduce Coop to Steel before retiring to a safe distance...:smallwink:

The Doctor turns up in the DC Universe and singlehanded manages to outwit Batman, shares an Oreo with the Martian Manhunter, exchanges packages of letters from Kal-El and his cousin Kara currently a thousand years apart in time before confronting Darkseid and his parademons who decide to peacefully return to Apokolips rather than pick a fight with the Doctor before he leaves causing every hero and villain present to wonder openly who the heck he is that even Darkseid doesn't fancy picking a fight with him?:smallwink:

Green Hornet + Batman Rich guys with masks in impossibly cool cars.

Cheetah + Sabretooth Hmm... Could be... messy.

Batman & Spiderman?

Both pushed on by a parent's (or near enough) death. Both rarely kill, following instead a self imposed moral code. Both trying to save their city from drowning in a sea a generally mundane troubles, with some supernatural whatever's thown in for flavour.

Plus neither of them can fly, so they can sulk together too.

Probably wouldn't be best buddies because Batman's a miserable git, but they see the world and their "job" in similar ways.

They respond to stress very differently.
Spiderman gets . . . quippy, while Batman goes internal monologue mode and broods.
I can just imagine the awkward conversations.
It would be Batman and the third Blue Beetle. Spiderman would be all antsy and trying to strike up conversation, while Batman would be just peering at the city from some vantage point.

Indeed, but God help you if they manage to work in concert.

Deadpool crossed with Beavis & Butthead. The rest of the city is so tired of the two miscreants that they're willing to hire an assassin to kill them. Hilarity ensues.

Deadpool + Plastic Man could be fun. Or Deadpool + Joker, for that matter (Deadpool crosses universes, gets hired by the Penguin, stumbles on one of Joker's capers, etc.).

Captain Planet and Toxic Avenger.

You could throw in Swamp Thing (or Poison Ivy) from DC for lulz, and... hmm. Can't really think of any Marvel characters who really fit the theme. (Maybe Iceman or Storm?)

Cyclops + Captain America. Team goody-two-shoes.

Plus, in a pinch, they can bust a move where Cyclops can hit a dude out of sight/in cover by reflecting it off of Captain's shield mid-air.

Cyclops is an ass. But yeah, that'd be cool.

Spiderman Kamen Rider: http://ethird.deviantart.com/gallery/4123534#/d1tgvgm

While that is a very nice picture the better crossover for Kamen Rider 1 would be Ghost Rider. They both are transforming heroes who after being modified by their nemesis broke free and use their new found powers to punish evil who happen to ride motorcycles. We have two heroes with very similar back stories and origins but they come from opposite sides of the Sci-Fi - Fantasy spectrum.

The way in which they deal with their powers is also an interesting source of conflict. Hongo after becoming Kamen Rider went out into the world battling Shocker and it's various later incarnations, being the full master of his powers. Blaze on the other hand spent most of his life trying his damnedest to stay away from Demons and super villains after he was free from his initial ties to Mephisto only to find himself dragged into more conflicts despite his best efforts, mostly due to fear of his own abilities. It would be quite interesting to see how Hongo would reacat to a Rider who isn't as gung-ho about Justice as he and most later main Kamen Riders are.

If multiple iterations of one character are allowed..

Superfriends Aquaman and Bats:BatB Aquaman. Throw in comic-book Aquaman as well, have a Last Aquaman Standing deathmatch. Sell tickets, it'll be standing room only just for the privilege of seeing at least two Aquamen die.

Umm, were you going for irony there, or did you honestly not know that one happened during the Adam West / Bruce Lee era?

That crossover was hilarious. It's surreal to see Bruce Lee lose a fight to Burt Ward.

The Fantastic Four and the Incredibles.

The Incredibles and X-Men I think. Maybe.

Sky High and X-Men.

Hiro Nakamura and The Doctor. Two oddball masters of time and space. One is japanese, the other is an alien who has become british through osmosis. They fight crime…ACROSS ALL TIME.

Harry Dresden and Spiderman. Just for the opportunity to up their snarkiness to epic levels as well as comment upon how sucky their lives are while fighting evil.

You're missing DCAU Aquaman.

Also, I don't want B:BatB Aquaman to die. He was OUTRAGEOUS!

So I can feel like I'm contributing.

Power Rangers and Super Sentai? Ok that one was dumb.

Captain Marvel, Superman, Captain America, Aquaman (BtBatB version) all try to out kind each other. Maybe they could go give Lobo, the Punisher, and Wolverine a stern talking to.

Well... not so much as the popular vote likes to think. Burt Ward got the part because of the martial arts he demonstrated during the audition. While not on a Bruce Lee level, he was hardly in the "how do I make a fist?" category.

Plus you have to remember that these are just characters. While Lee might have easily won in the ring, the original character of Kato wasn't much of a fighter. Robin easily had the edge on him until the television show itself had been cast and they took advantage of Lee's stardom.

But, yes, there was quite the cry of outrage when the victory went to the Boy Wonder. People had difficulty telling the difference between fantasy and reality back then, I suppose...

How aobut a 4-way between G.I. Joe, Team America, Nick Fury's Howling Commandoes and Chuck Norris' Delta Force? With Snake Plissken being put in charge?

But who the hell would they fight...? Maybe if the Cybermen teamed up with the Borg or something.

On this subject...

Fun fact. Burt Ward lived in the same condominium complex as Bruce Lee, and the two of them frequently sparred with each other for practice. So while Bruce Lee was clearly the better fighter, Burt was actually good enough to keep up with him and be a useful sparring partner.

That’s hilarious although BMX Bandit has to be one of the more villainous sounding superhero names.

As for my contribution…..um I’ll go with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Static Shock. Both got mutated by weird chemicals and Donatello and Gear would come up with some crazy gadgets.

I believe at least one of the Playstation 2 Spiderman games had a similar premise, sandboxing with superheroes. With Spiderman especially, it makes perfect sense as his web swing invites sandbox exploration, though Batsies grappling hook could work similarly.

Yeah... a lot of people started posting that image all over the interwebs and the artist and original website (tliid) got annoyed (http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/2012/08/29/these-drawings-dont-just-appear-out-of-thin-air/) since no-one bothered to credit it back.
