Beneath the earth is another world, a limitless labyrinth of caverns and corridors, lit with glowing fungus, harboring thousands of dark secrets. The place is crawling with horrific monsters, dotted with eerie cities, and laden with priceless treasures.
It is called the Underdark.
This contest begins with the posting of this thread, and will continue until the first of December.
Soon after it ends, a poll will be opened, and Playgrounders can vote on their favorite monster until the first day of the next month.
Rules
You will be creating an original creature for Dungeons & Dragons 3.5. It must be some sort of species or unique creature that lives deep beneath the earth, in ancient catacombs, underground seas, cave complexes, or similar.
The entry must include a name, at least one complete stat-block, a detailed description, and lore. Adventure hooks are also encouraged. Incomplete entries will be disqualified upon the deadline. Templates are allowed.
Entries must be 3.5 edition. The new MM4-5 format is encouraged, but not required.
Post all entries on this thread. Do not post conversation here. Any and All Comments and discussions will take place on a separate thread here (this is a link (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=13935692#post13935692)).
One entry per participant. No double-teaming.
Entries copied from some other source (splatbook, alternate website, etc) will be disqualified. All entries must be a new creation, not one already posted. Adding class levels to an already published or posted creature does not count as a new monster. Nor does adding templates. There must be an original base creature or template.
No reserving posts. Feel free to post a creature and tweak it, but you have to have the basic beast already done.
Please state if you do not want critiques, otherwise other participants will likely give a rundown of your build in the chat thread.
