So I'm going to be running a few dream sequences tonight for my players. What music would you suggest for the following encounters?

1. A father being forcibly separated from his son
2. An apprentice usurping his master
3. A criminal being judged at a trial
4. A man discovering he's killed someone he cares about
5. An orphan being chased through the street by kidnappers

What's the context/feeling of each? That would help a lot.

Especially #1. It could be radically different if it's during a genocide, than if it's getting lost in a crowd, or divorce, etc.

2. What are they apprentice and master of? Is it violent, as killing the master, or through some political maneuvering?

3. What crimes? Is it an unfair trail? Is the criminal sad ,feeling guilty?

5. I like the chase themes from Assassin's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZH1NFziHUxg) Creed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2K0lpLN-h24).

2. Maybe this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eIk5DWUx_E).
3. So very this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fa7AtI1msk).
4. This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xho9thsoUo) or something by Penderecki (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzOb3UhPmig) - his compositions are generally horror (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64045S7JDKg&feature=related)-inducing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UqQl0CNNCY&feature=related) (the last one might be good for 5.).
5. Maybe this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zicXG2xehow).

There are also pieces like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNvxjCDOc34), this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCX0or43lv0&feature=related) or this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxOt951ebxY&feature=related).

4. A man discovering he's killed someone he cares about

I think Careful with that axe Eugene (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYMyxTFwuz8) is perfect for this situation, slowly insinuating the suspicion, whispering voices, until it burst with a dreadful scream at 3.04.
Sounds like a man, in confusional state, realizing that his hands are bathed in the blood of his wife.

These are all excellent. I'll use them tonight and tell you how it went (and also provide some more context).
