Peoples, I have never EVER donated to a kickstarter (sorry giant, I had no money when you made yours) and I have a question on the general functioning of a kickstarter:

What happens to the money donated if the kickstarter goal is not met?

Nothing. You authorize the payment, but it isn't processed until the drive is over. If the goal isn't met, the project isn't funded, your payment is cancelled.

I didn't know that. I thought you gave the money... Interesting!
Thanks a lot!

No problem. Kickstarter has an FAQ of sorts on their website, but it's not that easy to find. It's just a bit of plain text at the top of the page next to the logo saying "What is Kickstarter?", but the actual homepage pretty much just tries to dump you into current projects right away. I personally think the website it poorly laid out. Here's the link to their FAQ (http://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq/kickstarter%20basics?ref=nav) if you want some more information.
