View Full Version : Ultimate character gestalt!

Suppose you were to take all the characters an actor or actress has played, and combine them into one supe character, who would be the greatest?

"Greatest" can be defined in any way you like, whether that be "would win in a standard versus match", or simply "most awsome" (or "most ridiculous") character concept?

(Only one rule: if you are proposing a verses match, you can't include anyone with "God" as part of their gestalt, unless fighting someone else with the same).

For example, if you were to combine all Arnold Schwarzenegger's characters, you would get... actually, nothing that impressive, IMO. Most of his characters are fairly generic action heroes who wouldn't bring anything particularly special to the gestalt. So what you would end up with would basically be a wise-cracking Conan the Terminator, with good trap-making skills. Which, admitedly, is pretty powerful, and quite cool as well. But would probably lose badly in a fight with Summer Glau.

I'd definitely vote for President (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_Force_One_%28film%29)Indiana (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indiana_Jones)Solo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Han_Solo).

I was going to say that the coolest character of all would probably be his father, Professor Henry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indiana_Jones_and_the_Last_Crusade) Ramirez (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highlander_%28film%29)Ramius (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hunt_for_Red_October_%28film%29)Bond (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Bond_in_film#Sean_Connery_.281962.E2.80.9319 67.29). But then I remembered this (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Bm_7agAQY5E/T56jy11wH8I/AAAAAAAABYY/wuoO0H_8SIY/s1600/zardoz.jpg).

Other awesome gestalts will have to be Patric Stewart (Captain Jean-Luc Xavier, Thane of Cawdor), and Ian McKellen (http://estonotienesentido.files.wordpress.com/2010/10/demotivational-posters-im-gandalf-and-magneto.jpg).

However, in terms of raw power and concentrated awesome, I don't think any of those could beat Jennifer Hale (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jennifer_Hale). Her Bioware roles alone should give her enough characterization, magic, and firepower to win at anything.

So, can anyone think of any better gestalts? (Or any secret shames that would bring them down as badly as Connery?)

I've often liked to pretend that every role Tom Hanks has ever played has just been another thing that happened to Forrest Gump.

You for got Uriel Septim.

He's Sir Captain Jean-Luc Xavier Septim, Emperor of Cyrodiil and Thane of Cawdor. A good vote.

There's also the Sean Bean Death squad:

In a fight, Morgan Freeman should win. He's not only a supernatural assassin and secret agent, but also god and the narrator.

Are we limited to people who appeared on screen as titled roles, or are voice-actors included? The form would rule out Jennifer Hale and, sadly, Mark Hamill probably. But the latter would just be steamrolled by the dozen or so Japanese professionals that seem to do all the voices in the various anime.

Also Starscream.

True, that might actually be a more condensed group of professionals. Maybe we should just have two brackets, one for live-action and one for voice actors/motion captures?

Brad Pitt has been unexamined by this thread. As an imaginary nazi hunting greek warrior robber rapist assassin, I think he would have quite an advantage.
Also Liam Neeson, better known as Jedi Lion Jesus Zeus, going after his daughter's kidnappers after doubting Lancelot's loyalty can get a good advantage.
And from Joss Whedon roles alone, Nathan Fillion deserves at least an honorable mention. Demonic priest space captain superhero and all. He could even solve crimes in his free time.

Only the 10-year-old one and a few aliens, though. I think Lowenthal has a stronger claim to the character due to being the older, more capable Ben.

One that seems rather powerful is captain Tiberius Thor, who plays football and rides a motorcycle, though the fact that he's died in two of those three roles can diminish the effect.
Jim Carrey is another superpower. Everything from God's powers to essentially being a living cartoon. Pretty soon also a psychotic superhero, but he's also been an incredibly devoted con artist.

Personally, two of my favourite amalgams would be comprised by:(just using movies)

Ian McKellen
- Death (Last Action Hero)
- Richard III
- Magneto
- Gandalf

Ben Kingsley (due to the amount of inherently good/evil people he depicts)
- Ghandi
- Moses
- Fagin from Oliver Twist
- His role in Iron Man 3

That and Brad Dourif, though his convergence of evil sociopaths would most likely lead to a bit of a problem.

Summer Glau would be... not as impressive as I expected: a psychic (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0303461/) robot (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0851851/) who is also herself. :smallconfused:

Not that impressive in the scheme of things, but Cameron with the agility and fighting skills of River Tam would be pretty dangerous.

However, I've just started rewatching my Firefly DVDs, and realised that Cameron with the personal of River Tam would be... extremely scary.

I've also realised that Arnold Schwarzenegger would be weirder than I thought, because he would also be himself, and a character played by himself (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Film/LastActionHero).

David Mitchell (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/That_Mitchell_and_Webb_Look), the president of United States and WWII-era ace pilot, can summon angelic hordes at will and play the green clarinet that makes you tell embarrassing truths about yourself. He also has the combined deductive powers of both Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot and commands a large international terrorist and criminal organization. Has secured an endless supply of Lion-bars.

Robert Webb (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/That_Mitchell_and_Webb_Look)can ride a BMX really well. Oh, and he's also a flying brick like Superman and has two invisibility powers. To round it up, he's also a brilliant inventor who has invented The Giant Death Ray, The Armored Scorpion of Death, Unlimited Power Bomb, Mind Controlling Death Ants and The Doom Melon. All of which supposedly help mankind and not destroy it.

Jonathan Goldsmith is The Most Interesting Man in the World (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVwG1t-NVAA). It is said he's quite content with that and doesn't need gestalting.

People are getting all too fancy. I'll stick with Chevy Chase. Conniving investigative reporter and trust fund slacker/golf ace who gains bullet-stopping telekinetic powers through exposure to radioactive waste before accidentally turning himself invisible. Plus he has the most awesome family vacations ever.

Or Al Leong (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0502959/). Basically maintains the same appearance, personality and badassery throughout all of his gestalts until a 1980s action star comes along and kills him.

David Tennant is the Doctor. That sounds like a typical villain for him (also his true name is secret).

He's also Hamlet, which sounds more like a weakness.

He's also a manic depressive... that doesn't really do anything when you've got the Doctor in there, does it?

He's also an insane wizard disguised as Brendan Gleeson.
Which begs the question of whether he gets the powers of Brendan Gleeson.
Because if he does, then by sheer quantity Rebecca Romjin should triumph over all.

I'm fairly sure Christopher Lee is still winning.

His only known weakness is Peter Cushing.

He's also significantly more Metal than most of these other lesser people.

Or a steak through his heart. Or a knife in the back. Or a lightsaber.

You know he dies a lot.

You know he dies a lot.

But he's also Rasputin, so he can take all the above and then some before drowning.

And Tennet's also Casanova, so he'll woo all the ladies.

Wasn't he killed/destroyed by a Disney Princess expy and/or Ron Pearlman?

He got better. And then died again. Clearly his other weakness is a Ron Pearlman/Disney Princess Gestalt.

Which one would he play? I'd like to say Mulan for ass-kickery, but it would be funnier with something else. Pocahontas? I'd pay money for Ron Pearlcahontas.
