Brendan's Alteration
Transmutation
Level: Wizard 7
Components: V, S
Casting Time: See Text
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5ft./2 levels)
Target: 1 cubic ft./ level of nonliving solid matter.
Duration: Permant if solid, liquid acts as a liquid when spell ends, Gas is the
the same.

You make changes to an object. This effect can not create matter, only
effect what exists. Also, this can not actually change the composition
of matter. Wood remains wood, stone remains stone, etc etc. This spell
can affect any kind of matter, solid, liquid, gas, but they remain of
the same type. Items can not be mixed, but they can be attached. I.E.
You can not make a solid mixture of wood and metal, but you could twist
them together (provided they were with in the spell's area of effect).
This spell can not make masterwork items, without the apropriate craft
check. Craft checks combined with this spell do not decrease the cost
of making items, but does reduce the time, provided you can also make
the concentration check. This Spell provides a +2 bonus when used in
conjuction with the Craft skill, provided you are using the spell to
aid your crafting.

Casting time:
Difficulty (example): Casting time.
Simple (Wood block to a bunch of sticks): Standard Action
Medium (Wood and Metal into a Pick Axe): Full round or ask DM
Complicated (Wood, Metal, Jewels, into intricate statue): Ask DM

I'll be honest. I see this being used...roughly never. It's too high level, and there are too (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/stoneShape.htm)many spells (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/woodShape.htm)that do (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/minorCreation.htm)roughly what (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/majorCreation.htm)you're doing (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/fabricate.htm). Except that they're lower level. Fabricate (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/fabricate.htm)especially. And that's just in core.

It's a fairly neat concept, until you actually think about what you're doing. Know what else can mix two liquids from a range?

A ten-foot pole.

I'd recommend rewording it to be closer to Fabricate, adding in that it can be used to mix different materials together, and make it 6th level.

Excellent advice. Thats why I posted it, to see what people think. I do think I will use what you have said.

I think you'll be better off making this a Greater version of Fabricate (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/fabricate.htm). Also, Instantaneous duration seems more appropriate, unless you want the effect to be undone with Dispel Magic, and detected with Detect Magic (which is kind of wonky when you think about it). What concentration check are you talking about near the end? I think you mean Craft there. You could also get away with making it a 6th level spell, since it doesn't provide much practical benefit over Fabricate.

Fabricate, Greater.
Transmutation
Level: Wizard 7
Casting Time: See Text
Duration: Instantaneous

As Fabricate, but uses casting times in the table below, and does not require a Craft check, and may be cast on an object containing the appropriate raw materials.

Ha, I like this. You use your real name for your spell  Much respect on that matter.

Haha of course. It has to be known that it is mine, and how else would they know? In game I use my character's name, but out of game its mine!
