The Creation.
We call it the beginning, since everything before was largely boring and uneventful. There never existed a nothingness whole and total, since such an idea was silly. The scope of reality, however, was largely empty and unamusing. Abstract concepts banded together into a great and powerful whirlwind, and decided it best to fill the unused space with something of greater purpose, for its own amusement.
TAB Now what existed below was called the abyss, and those which floated in its dark waters found the further deep they traveled, the more overwhelming darkness of it all drowned them away into unreality. Above rested the heavens, and those that flew into its lofts found the light overwhelming and reduced them to ash. But a thin sliver existed, on the skins of the two different realms, and this is where Creation created.
TAB First it called upon the Earth, and made a great firmament upon which its creations could abide. It pulled the earth upward, into a great mountain, and docile slopes rolled downwards to the outer rim. It was a barren landscape of red clay and grey rock, so it set upon it the small grasses and lichens, which spread in great fields. It fashioned manner of small beasts, which roamed the lands, eating from the earth and of the other fleshes. And so was the Earth.
TAB Second it called upon the Sky, a great expanse of the airs which shielded the land from the scorching rays of the heavens. It made great roaming beasts of the wind and water, called clouds, which gave the Earth the waters of life. It made the manner of lights in heaven, by which we measured time. It fashioned the beasts with power over flight, and they carried the seed of the land. And so was the Sky.
TAB Third it called upon the Sea, a great and sluggish river which circumnavigated the Earth, and broke apart the dark waters of the abyss. It rose small islands along its path, and edged its waters with great rocks, to prevent stray travelers from being lost to the abyss beyond. It fashioned all manner of swimming beasts, and filled the waters with their shining scales. And so was the Sea.
TAB Fourth it called upon the Dark, the deep roots upon the firmament. It pulled them far and wide, and carved slender passage and vast chambers. It filled the deep earth with mineral and ore, and sometimes great burning fires or chilling waters. There was no beast which resided far below, but the animals of the surface sometimes took to burrowing their own paths here. And so was the Dark.
TAB And it found this amusing, for a while. But in its impatience, it grew bored again. And so it called from the Earth a new manner of creature, greater than any other before it. And so Creation made man and woman, which walked the Earth in all its glory, and it gave to them the greatest of potential, and the desire to become anything that it may wish. And as Creation began to fade again into its separate parts, it made it so that nothing could ever threaten to steal away Human's birth right.

As the first day passed, light gathered into pools. Underneath these pools the earth moved, bringing precious metals and stones towards the surface. Once the light touched the hard earth, the two mixed as one.
At the very peak of the central mountain the ground slowly rolled up and started shaping itself into a thirty foot tall man. Then the dirt man called out. KABOOOOM! The precious stones and metals that had mixed with the light appeared in front of the dirt man. Carefully, he shaped it all into a basin. Once made, he waited until light had gathered in the basin. From the basin the dirt man took a drink. "Ahhhhhhh." The light coursed through the dirt man, changing him and giving him strength. He then gingerly stepped into the basin and washed off the dirt on his skin. As the dirt fell off, his skin shone like white gold, his eyes became like deep blue saphires, and his hair like strands of fine mithril. He then looked into the basin and saw that he was naked.
"Hmmm. That must change. It would not be courteous to show myself off." As he looked around, the shining man gathered what plants there were at the mountain top and dipped them into the basin. Once he was satisfied by how they had changed, he stretched the fibers in the plants. Taking his time he spread the fibers over the ground before weaving it into several pieces of cloth. He then donned his clothes: deep green pants, a dark red shirt, onyx black shoes and a similarly colored hat. Last of all, the man picked up his dark blue cloak. After that He turned towards the basin one last time.
"It would not do to let a human touch these waters, for doing so could be too much for one so weak to handle. It also would not be good to waste these resources. Hmm, so I shall make a staff out of it!" First he sifted out the dirt within the light, spilling out what was now gold and silver nuggets. He then carefully plucked off all of the gemstones from the basin and molded them together to form one large sphere. Picked up the basin, he poured the rest of the light into the orb. He then reshaped the precious metals into a long staff before squarely planting the orb on top of it. "There, that'll work quite well."
Turning towards the east he saw the moon rise over the horizon. "Whewwwwww. What a beautiful sight. Hmmm, I think I shall call myself....Dinfale. Yes, that has a nice ring to it. Now, I wonder if there are others like me...." And turning around he peered into the west...

A great bird appeared before the man. A field of bone white feathers, the sound of rushing winds at its call. A face like an impassive mask, and not in the slightest human. It rested upon the light as if walking on ground. It folded the black, shining talons in a manner of hands. Honestly, those claws certainly resembled hands in a very peculiar manner--almost hauntingly, the tell-tale sign of its moreness, of its divinity.
TAB Its voice touched upon the air and into his ears, though its mouth had not moved. "Greetings," she said, with a voice that echoed. "You are the first, and I am the second." She looked into the skies with solid black eyes, eyes that contained infinity. An honestly boring statement, really, seeing as how everything was really quite boring at the moment.
TAB It had come from nothing before. No, not nothing, that was impossible. It came after creation, from a fine mist which spread across the sky and collected itself into resembling shapes. Far below, on the earth, man and woman remarked of the great mist's shape, like that of a bird. It was all it took, and it remembered spreading vast wings and soaring on its own belief in itself. Who? it asked then.
TAB "Who do you claim to be?" It asked him now, thought the words poised upon the air not so much as a statement but as an observance of fact. It ruffled its feathers, adjusting to the new world chill.

The man replied in a cheerful and deep voice. "Hello. I call myself Dinfale. Hmmm...I suppose that if I were to take a title it would be the Visitor, because I'm curious about mankind. Who, and what might you be, O Curious One?"

The bird stared for a while at the man, before looking away again at something new. It moved from object to object in that manner, staring intently for a couple moments before moving on. "Indeed," she spoke while inquiring the world. "Names." It gurgled an awkward, bubbling sound. "But I suppose that is hard for you to say. You may call me Owl."
TAB Rushing wings, and a howling wind. Owl disappeared in the blink of an eye, soaring now through the empty sky. It flew and flew until the lights of heaven dimmed, and marked the first night.
TAB "What is the purpose of such things," it asked itself. "And what would be the point, were I to change it?" It flew high into the sky, where the world was only the smallest point beneath it all. It shook its great wings, and the bits of down that softly drifted glowed with an unearthly light. "Be." It said, and they were.
TAB It is said that no two star be exactly alike, but there were a great deal of star born from the god Owl. Each some representation of man or bird or somewhere in between. They glowed and they looked down on the world below. "Who are you?" it asked each, but no star held the same desire for the inquiry as did it. Unsatisfied with this, it condemns upon them a burden. "Serve man and woman below, guide them." And no star felt displeased with this task, for it had a noble cause.

The task of Creation was not finished. In a matter of facts, the great work just begun. Owl would know it or not, but in black emptiness of young sky lurks potencial and energy able to create new gods. His power, light and counsciousness which were granted to the skies by him, spured the hidden possibilities and brang them a form.
One of these star-born gods was Vintra, beautiful, high, glamour and noble in her snow-white robe. She looked at her father, and after that, at humans under they feet. She saw not only what was, but also what could be. She knew that mortals would populate the surface of the world, but she knew the ultimate fate of mortals too. Gods were immortal, but individuals of mankind would die, even if their race has a glorious path forehead.
- I will my Father, I will – answered Vintra to the Owl, using a big portion of her power to twist the grief fate of humankind.

Deep in the abyss of unreality, connected to but disjoined from the Seas of which it was created to rule Something stirred. A being of such pure fear and horror that to look upon it was to know madness and become madness.
And it knew what was to come. The cycle of birth and rebirth it knew would come calling again, the switching of such polar opposites as Creation and Uncreation, something the being was intimately familiar with, being a thing made from both. Constantly Creating bits of itself as other appendages faded into shimmering Uncreated limbs the antithesis of the life beginning to develop up in the skies.
But what was it.
There was no-one around to name it, nor was there an anchor point in the pure darkness to provide it's name. So it searched, exploring itself for it's name before gasping, no-one could know of its name, not even it until the time was right, for its name was the Spell of Uncreation, the final words to be uttered by a Truenamer that would extinguish All.
So it stopped its search and began to feel around outside, finding the inky blackness beginning to lighten until the Maddening God appeared in the Seas. Where it realized it's mistake. All around it were the creatures it was supposed to nurture and rule over. The denizens of the Seas unused to seeing something of such madness incarnate as it.
So it retreated again, returning to the blackness and taking with it the bodies of those that had seen, a few 1/2 thought plans running through the mind of the God.
But, it knew it could not hide forever, and to wait was to be negligent in its duties. So it fragmented itself, taking the least-horrifying portions of itself and coalescing them into a humanoid God, linked to it completely.
<I am the Unspoken One.> The two forms of the one said in unison, before the humanoid rose out of the depths, towards the light of the Seas.
Rising up, past schools of fish and other aquatic forms of life The Deep One broke the sealine, taking his (for this form was indeed a he) first breath of air

Dinfale heard the call and shuddered. He knew that whatever made that call was not something to be taken lightly. So within a moment he stepped forward and appeared at the meeting place. Once he arrived, he faced the new being squarely, his face firm, though he had a hint of kindness in his eyes.
"Hello. I am Dinfale, the Visitor. I come from the earth. May I know your name?"
Dinfale almost cringed after making his request. He could clearly see that whatever was before him was not similar to himself except in power and vaguely so in form.

From the red bones and green flesh of Creation's mountain rose a thing of clay and iron and fire, a creature made of mossy bricks and metal forges and ideas of things to come. Urs Ignatus was free of the earth, and he stretched his newmade arms. Loose bricks fell from Urs and tumbled to the western shore, and the god's gaze followed them to a bright blue expanse that stretched further than he could ever see, and a gaggle of humans living in what must have passed as a settlement.
This will not do, said he, and he strode down to the shore and pulled rocks from the land and cast them into the sea until the sea was forced to give up a portion of the world to Urs, and he smiled and bent down to sprinkle dirt over the land, and fertilize his great expanse. He then took his bricks and his clay and his iron and steel and stone and constructed great, weaving towers and bridges and tunnels, a magnificent gleaming city made of sandstone and white marble and patterned green granite, with fanciful steel plates waiting to be engraved with great histories. He spread floors with jade tiles and roads with beautiful wrought iron lamp posts, and domed roofs made out of stone and steel.
This, thought Urs, will make for a start. This will be the home of Man and all his kin. While creatures go bump in the night, Man and his kin will stay safe behind lit walls, ready to work their will on the world come day.
Urs went down to the men in the form of a man made of glorious, ancient architecture, dressed in a robe of the greatest tapestries, and pointed to the city that he had made.
"There," he said to the mortals, "Is where you will live. It is the City of Man, the home of you and your kin. Live there prosperously, and make great things, and I will do for you all I can. Grow stagnant, and my power and goodwill will wane."
And so Urs Ignatus, the Towering Forge, went to the City of Man to watch over the humans for a short time, until he could be sure they could be safely left on their own. And all the while, he was thinking...and dreaming...
And then he heard the call, and he went to the Center, and he saw the other gods and spoke to them.
"Greetings, Unspoken One!" the god said in his grinding, booming voice, "I am Urs Ignatus, the Towering Forge! Have you seen the little creatures down on the beaches? I see much potential in them."

Dinfale then knew why he shuddered. This being, though only the second one he had met was truly different. Different in such a way as to affront him just by existing. It was a truly frightening thing.
"There is another out there like us. One capable of effecting its will upon this material frame. It calls itself Owl. And it said I was the first. How it knew that...well, perhaps it is better at knowing than myself. I must admit, though, to my curiosity of humans. In time I'm sure there will be more like us, and should I meet them I will tell them of this place where creatures like us can gather. However, I do believe that it is not fair to mankind that this place should be here on this earth. This world is mankind's domain, as is appropriate. It would be too easy for ones such as us to wield our power and lord ourselves over mortals if we didn't have something holding us back. Especially with how different we are compared to each other. Also, should any discord come into existence between ones such as us it would not be prudent for our meeting place to be upon this mortal world, for it would not do to have a war erupt here between ones such as us. It could be truly disastrous for mankind if something like that were to happen. Therefore, I shall make a new world for this meeting ground to rest upon. One where mankind cannot simply walk in upon any gathering happening."
And with that said Dinfale took a step back. Raising his arms up, he spoke with power and might, creating a new world next to the first while weaving a veil into place to keep the two separate, though close. This new world was one of cloud and rock, water and metal. And it stretched quite a ways, though the only truly place of any noteworthiness was at it's epicenter where a great mountain rose up above every other place on the world. After that, Dinfale set his staff down with a force of will, his power resonating through the meeting place the Unspoken had made. And in less than a moment the meeting place disappeared from the mortal plane and appeared on the new one. Once again Dinfale turned towards his new aquaintance and said, "I appologize if what I've done offends you. However, I do think that it was necessary. It may be beneficial to make your call again for ones such as us to meet here."
Dinfale then turned towards the newcomer and said, "Welcome, Urs Ignatus. I am Dinfale, the Visitor. And while I have yet to meet them, I know of the humans you speak of. It is my intention to visit them soon."

And I do not begrudge your change in venue I simply wished to arrange for a neutral ground and this place seemed ready-made.

Dinfale felt a very new feeling for the first time: smug pride. It was an odd feeling to him, and one he felt he didn't deserve to have. However, as it was, he did not completely surpress it as he replied to the Unspoken.
"Ah, it is not necessary for me to call out to the Owl. I am quite capable of traversing any distance in no time at all. Pardon me, I shall be right back." And with that he was gone, so fast it was almost as if he had never been there.
In less than a moment Dinfale appeared before the Owl. "I have found others like us. A third and a fourth. We have decided to gather together on a world I have created for that very purpose. It would be quite nice if you would join us."
And with that said, Dinfale returned to the gathering place on his plane, so quickly it was almost as if he was always there. He then turned towards the seat of rock and waved his hand, softening it by turning the surface into dirt and grass. Subsequently he removed his hat and sat down.

And as the Owl did first make the stars in the heavens, one did move from his appointed place. For he burned with a heat which surpassed the others, and he counted himself as first among their number, though if one star could truly be greater than another, who is to say?
But this star did fly through the sky, and seeing that others had taken forms and shapes beyond the mere sphere of light which was his nature, desired a unique shape for himself, for it was his nature to desire. And the star then did take the form of Man, for among all the things which he had seen, it was Man's form which was most pleasing to him.
From the drifting, leftover bits of starstuff, this star-turned-Man shaped a crown, which glowed with a light which surpassed all other lights as of yet made. So bright was its light that even those who had come before would find their eyes scorched and burned by its intensity.
This star-turned-Man wandered, then, searching for one who might please him, and be awed by his form, for it was also his nature to be vain, and proud. Walking through the void beyond the sky, he saw one like him, a star-born goddess, almost as beautiful as he. To her, he called out.
"You too, then? We have both broken free from the shackles which hold the other stars to their orbits. We are alive, my sister! Is it not glorious!"

While waiting for the appearance of Owl, Dinfale slowly waved his hands over the earth beneath him, playing with the soil via his divine power. Using his connection to the earth, he felt through the rocks nearby, listening to the silence they offered. He found he was slightly disappointed that there was no life in the rocks, and that what life was in the plants nearby was not connected to the rocks. He briefly had a thought that such disappointment was both illogical and odd, but he dismissed it in favor of giving life. So he called out to the rocks and the soil, the boulders and the grass. He called out and listened for a reply. At first, nothing happened, but then he heard it. A new beat of life within the rocks and the plants, coalescing and coming together. The great bird sat high above the earth. It moved the things about in the universe, very raw creation between its talons. "Hmm?" She hummed, at Dinfale's appearance. "Yes, give me a moment, and I shall join you there. I sense the movement below, but I am occupied at the moment."
TAB She returned to her work, and made a new form, unlike another. So joyous, and playful, and free-spirited. Glorious combination of beast and bird. Yes, it was a good creation. But she could not help notice how perfect this was, and that in its perfection, less so. "There is still something missing," And so the god turned it over, and found the opposite. "Ah yes."
TAB In the moment between breaths, two new creations found themselves among the world. New gods, each the opposite but both the same. And so it was. "Indeed."
TAB And in the rushing beats of wings and wind, Owl appeared among the other gods. "A summons has been called, and a summons answered." She bubbled liquidly, in the strange cooings of birds. But never could it keep its gaze fixated for too long, looking up past everything and back into the sky. Something off, something different. "Where are my stars, Vintra and Tarvin? Dinfale stood and gestured towards the Unspoken while facing the Owl. "The Unspoken here made a call out that we should meet; get to know one another. While he has given hints of some sort of strange cycle, he also mentioned agreements, which I think is appropriate. We four here are the first of our kind. And already there are at least four more like us."
He then slowly turned towards each other god in turn. "The divine decree given to us was that only mankind should live and rule upon the earth. I have no doubt that such a thing could be subverted were ones such as us be given time and resources. However, to do so would not only be incredibly rude towards the humans, it would also be so towards the One that made the decree. In order to prevent this, I say that we ought to make a pact, an agreement. We ought to state what is necessary for both the survival and the prospering of humans, and then state how we can protect and/or cause those things. If we can then follow those methods to succeed in the endeavor...well then, I do believe we will have one of the greatest gifts of all for mankind." With those words Dinfale's eyes twinkled.
"As an example of what I mean by necessary for mankind's survival, I say this: I believe it is important for mankind to understand right from wrong, good from evil. Without such an understanding, mankind could destroy itself.
Now that I have said my piece, I would be most grateful to hear your thoughts on this matter." With that said, Dinfale sat down.

"Vintra. Your name sparkles, like you do. I too, need a name." The star-turned-Man thought for a moment, before nodding. "Tarvin. Yes, Tarvin. A strong name, befitting a king." Tarvin then let his gaze turn towards the land which Vintra had made, Aurora. "You speak the truth, my sister. This land glitters and shines beyond any rare jewel or precious metal. And yet." Tarvin appeared puzzled, pondering some great question. He paced back and forth, before finally arriving at his conclusion. "Yes. I fear I do not understand. Why should we give anything to these mortals, these humans? Are we not stars? Are we not more than stars? Why should we guide or protect such frail creatures?" Across the snow and ice, Tarvin danced and whirled pulling his sister into the dance with him. "We are alive! More alive than they ever will be! They live their entire lives in fear of death. How can they truly live? We must take our lives by storm! Create, yes, but for us! And destroy, for us! It is our right, our purpose! We are beings of a higher power! We deserve to follow our own impulse, not to be slaves to such ants as they!"
It is said that in the time when Tarvin and Vintra danced, entire styles of dancing were created. The waltz, the tango, the ballet, and more and varied dances that mere mortals could never concieve of. All these and more passed through the mind and limbs of Tarvin as he danced in wild abandon with his sister-though for them, whether an eternity or a second passed, who can say, but the brother and sister?
And Tarvin speaks on that dance not. Merely a coy wink and a knowing smile.

The Unspoken reaches out into the world and plucks a single mortal, a generic Human from the plains
<Look at it, it has no gills like the fish of the sea, nor any protection from the blistering heat of the magma running through the earth.
Spiritual and moral growth is something that they should learn for themselves shaped by their own manifest destiny but the physical shape of a being is unable to be messed with on a macroscale of populations.>

A skeletal form took shape, a brown cloak and hood grew from it and enshrouded it. Slovian took a smiling wooden mask from beneath and placed it over his skull. "Hello father. Hello Uncles. Father, as I grew from you I have heard some things. I have cousins father. I would like to meet them. I would like to play with them, and would not be fair to my Uncles for your child to be at this meeting while they are alone. May I go father? May I go play with my cousins?"

With great rejoice Slovian flew out of the center and into the sky. The only question is which cousin shall he visit first? As he pondered this Slovian noticed something from the sky down on the earth. The mask grinned as Slovian knew which star-born god he would visit, but first a quick detour.
In truth he need not decide for, after his detour, he found his cousins, the only two he knew of, dancing together. "Greetings cousins and spawn of Uncle Owl. I am Slovien, son of the Unspoken. I actually came to thank cousin Vintra for the gift she gave me. It is a truly wonderful gift."

Auroran wind danced with siblings, waving long, shining hairs of Vintra. The wind played music to the dance, changing with moves of relatives. When music became sad and dance slowly, Vintra cuddled tight her brother, whispering to his ear.
- Tarvin, beloved brother of mine. Yes, we are stars and even more, but it is a very reason we are responsible of humans. They are weak, scared and will never reach our potential. I love you, but if you would be a lesser brother, I would love you even more. If you would be a human, my love for you would be bigger than my own powers and existence. Look at them, they are so miserable, and still they have so big potential, so many arts to create, children to raise, things to craft. We are no slaves, we should share our joys and thoughts with humanity. Why not come to them and help, while it is so light deed to us? - asked, kissing cheek of Tarvin.
Then, Slovien came to Aurora. Vintra was afraid a little of his, co hugged her brother stronger. Yet, it wasn't right to judge others by their appearance. The new god said that was a cousin and wanted to talk. How cruel would be Vintra to treat him as uninvanted quest?
- Greetings, cousin. My hearth beats faster while my gifts bring joy to you. What gift is your favorite? Frozen streams, ice-covered mountains, or perhaps snowflakes, dancing gently with wind?

The god of fear reaches into his robe and pulls out a human corpse. "Thanks to you this is empty now. The souls have found a place to go and are no longer tied to their bodies when they die, which leaves me with these wonderful toys to play with. I have already made many of them dance and play with the mortals. The emotions that come from their interactions with the mortals sustains me. So I thank you dear cousin."

They have responded to her proposal. Vintra gathered in her hand light of all of her kind, adding her own power to currently created magic. When she pointed at undead, ray of holy light turned the zombie into dust, spilled by coldy wind into four directions.

Bring on the war dear cousin, for by dedicating a war against you tell all the mortals that they are something that should be feared. Through this fear I grow stronger.
Now, I shall leave your domain dear cousin. However fear will always live in the hearts of these mortals. I will not and cannot leave them. After all, these mortals are our responsibility."
With that Slovian leaves, but later writes a weave into the lives of these mortals. When they die their souls will go to Aurora. That Slovian cannot change, nor does he want to. I know you do not understand humans and perhaps do not care about them more than about dust, but please, look at Slovien's sins. Now every one person will change into ugly, monstrous creature, and there will be more and more of them. How can we dance in Aurora, when outside the beautiful world rotten corpses can devour innocence ones and spead diseases? Don't you want reality where beauty is everywhere, not only in my kingdom? Brother of mine, I have created today so many things and laws of universe, I don't know if I can create more. I feel... And it was in that time that the skeletal one, Slovien the Lord of Fear, did appear in the blessed lands of Aurora. And despite Tarvin's misgivings about his sister's path, he clutched her closer to his breast, to do what he could to protect her from the creature who appeared. For in his eyes it was hideous, and it displeased him with its presence.
Tarvin gazed down upon the mortal coil, and watched as the dead rose up and struck their former kindred. His divine heart was filled with wrathful fire, for these things were of a dark and horrid form and disposition, and pleased him not. "My sister, it is true that these things which Solvien has created are most foul, and displeasing to my eye. Yet he has woven their existance into the very fabric of existance. Their destructive rebirth is a fact of this world now, and I am not sure there is much we can do." Tarvin continued in his thinking, until an idea came upon him, and his eyes shone bright, and he laughed a dark and barking laugh. "No, there is something I may do. I cannot destroy them, nor ensure that no more rise, but I can force them to hide from my sight. No more shall our cousin's foul brood walk in the light, and none who die in the light shall join their ranks. The darkness is beyond my reach, but in the light, I keep your beloved mortals safe. You have given me the gift of beauty, sister, and in return I give this gift to you."
So saying, Tarvin took a shard of his own divine light, and placed it in the sky, high above the earth below. And the light of this great fire shone upon the works of Slovien the Lord of Fear, and they burned, and shuddered, and returned to the ground in which they were laid, not to rise again.

A shard of Tarvin's divine fire that has been placed in the sky, The Sun is Tarvin's place of governance. A throne of purest gold, from here Tarvin may watch the goings on of the mortal world at his pleasure. His mighty light shines down upon the world, until his throne travels beyond the horizon, to meet with his sister each night in the cold, crystaline world of Aurora.
Even when Tarvin does not sit upon his throne, still he watches. At any time, Tarvin may spare a small bit of his consciousness to sit in the Sun and act as his eyes. By this, Tarvin is aware of all which occurs upon the surface of the world in the day-though beneath the waves, and within the dark corridors of the Underdark, his sight cannot reach, and at night, his eyes are taken from him.

"So long as my throne sits in the sky, the dead shall not rise. They are a displeasure to my eyes, and so my light shall strike their unlife from them should they come into my sight, and their bodies shall lie still evermore. No creature of Slovien's make may exist in the light. A mortal who dies in the light shall remain dead, and a creature of undeath who enters the light shall burn until they are naught but ashes. They are the get of darkness, and in the darkness they shall remain, or perish. So says Tarvin, King of Light."
In less flowery language, all undead possess a weakness to Sunlight, in the same sort of vein as vampires. Thus, if a human dies in the day, they rise again, but immediately die once more. At night...well, Tarvin has no hold over the night. That is Slovien's domain.

Aeolus looked briefly at his creator as it left, tilting his head. Then he looked at his sister... at least he assumed one of those birds was his sister. He padded around the flock of birds, looking for one that stood out from the others. "Sister? Heeelloo? Which one are you? I can't tell!"
The Griffon stood in the center of a great multitude of birds. He flew in the conflux of a descent of woodpeckers, the fall of woodcocks, a plump of wildfowl, great colonies of vultures and gulls, a brood of turkeys, springs of teals, Bevy of swans, a mustering of storks, flights of swallows, murmurations of starlings, the great hosts of sparrows, wisps of snipes, packs of grouse, large buildings of rooks, kettle of hawks, the unkindness of ravens and the murder of crows.
The Griffon flew among the feathers of the coveys of quails, a holy congregation of plovers, a bouquet of pheasants, the ostentation of peacocks, amid the company of parrots, watched over by the parliaments of owls, skein of geese and goslings, and the watch of nightingales, richness of martens, the sords of mallards, a tidings of magpies and the divine exaltation of larks.
The Griffon searched within the flapping of the scolds of jays, charms of hummingbirds, and solemn wakes of buzzards, sedge of herons, shoal of herrings and even the flocks of chickens and chattering of chicks, under the covers of coots, and flight of cormorants, amid the siege of cranes and piteousness of doves, the flush of ducks and the grand convocation of eagles.
The magnificent flock - the convocation, composed of all the birds in the world, the righteous and the pure - for the air and it's creations, were the first beings made - well the first beings made that were cast into the sky - the ones closest to divinity unlike the those who walked on the dirty earth. They looked down and more importantly cast their shadows upon their inferiors. The purest and the grandest, the ones up high. Dinfale heard the decrees sent out by the slightly younger lords. Then he sighed. Quietly he spoke, "It appears that conflict is already on the warpath." Then lifting his head he turned towards the others.
"I'm afraid that I must disagree with you, Unspoken One. While mankind may be incapable of acquiring the gifts that you would give him on his own, he is also equally incapable of completely deciding on what is right and wrong. The problem lies in this: mankind was given a powerful desire for themselves. But not that they might rise as a race. Rather, this desire is within every human, and it is directed towards themselves. It is selfishness. This desire, if not directed towards mankind as a whole instead of the individual will eventually destroy them. Unlike us, mankind is incapable of living forever, and more importantly, is incapable of living alone. This desire will create walls of separation between them, causing destruction, because mankind needs community. This isn't to say that I think that we need to destroy individuality, but rather that we should encourage community. I have no problem with us tending to mankind's physical, emotional, and mystical needs. However, if we do not tend to their spiritual needs first then many of them will use the gifts we give them for their own individual desires." Dinfale then paused and turned towards the other two.
"What have you two to say about this question? Urs Ignatus? Owl? What is it that you two see that mankind needs from us?"

<But it is that individuality and selfishness that will propel Henri greater heights. Instilling a sense of racial community would stall the growth of inventions for competition and necessity are the mother and father of invention.
Remove the competition between them and you get a global collective that stalls technologically without constant divine intervention. But if you leave them as they are they will progress to be better than their neighbours who will in turn copy and develop better things themselves>

Dinfale sighed again. "Moral ambiguity isn't necessary for competition. And while selfishness may create some possibilities for competition, humans will be incapable of creating the truly amazing works that can only be done through cooperation if they become spiritually stagnant. And I directly disagree with the implication that you have given that mankind will be without needs if they are spiritually whole. I also think you may be devaluing contentment. In addition to this, my proposal isn't that we destroy mankind's desire to become greater, to explore and to realize its potential. Rather, my proposal is that they learn how to channel that desire productively without doing so selfishly. However, I have said my piece. I would like to hear what Urs Ignatus and Owl have to say about the needs of mankind, in addition to how those needs may be met."

Urs Ignatus returned to the City of Man, thinking of ways to defend it and help it to prosper.
First, the Towering Forge realized, he would need a realm of his own, from which to watch his creation. And so it was that he tugged on the threads of the tapestries of reality and wove ever more onto them, creating a plane, The Endless City.
Plane-The Endless City-This is a city that stretches as far as the eye can see in every direction, even up and down. Buildings hide in the corner of the observer's eye until they are focused on, making one feel like the city is a great sphere that uncurls itself as it is walked through. Buildings made of every material hold all the inventions yet made by human kind, and have room for countless more to come. The sky is a giant jade and marble green cloudy expanse filled with brightly glowing lanterns made of shining precious metals.
His realm made, Urs Ignatus set about creating Orichalcum, a brassy metal with conductivity and malleability unknown in any other material so far, and Star Jade, a smooth, strong stone as hard as diamond, but as light and as sharp as steel, with a surface that revealed the skies of The Endless City when viewed just right. Urs then spread these precious materials through the swathe of land that the City of Man sat upon, and whispered locations of a few choice veins into the ears of sleeping mortals.
And finally, to defend the City of Man and the Endless City, Urs made golems of hardy brick and sharp steel and scattered them about the City of Man and his realm, giving them their general orders to follow when not obeying him.
"Defend this City, for it is your home
Defend the humans who reside here, for this is their City
Stand tall and proud, for you are my children
And deliver my wrath, should it be gained, for you are my hammer
His work done, Urs Ignatus retired to the halls of The Endless City to watch his works patiently, opening his realm to his brother and sister gods with invitation.
He even set out a plate of cookies for the visitors.

Dinfale then turned towards Owl, though he could see that Owl was having trouble paying attention. Dinfale then hung his head. "It appears that I am nearly alone in my views, perhaps only aided by the star Vintra."
Dinfale then stood up and spoke more clearly.
"In the interest of not dragging our meeting out any further I propose an agreement of non-agression. If our views on what mankind needs and how those needs should be met are contrary to each other we will talk it out instead of coming to blows. And should we find ourselves incapable of coming to any kind of agreement we will not personally battle any humans that serve the other person. Slovien merely shrugged at the sun. If Cousin Tarvin wants to make Slovein the god of the night as well as the god of fear and undeath, than so be it. The growing fear of it turning night can in some ways be better than the constant knowledge of the undead being around you anyways. Perhaps at some point he can do more, but for him to make another cosmic decree he will need to grow stronger. Being the night god will give him that strength. He will make the night his own and make people fear it all the more so that they will not even feel safe in their homes.
He brainstormed a few ideas and let them loose. He created a variety of winged disease carrying vermin. Some will feed on human blood while others will not. Those foolish little humans will not tell the difference and may grow to fear even those that feed on nothing but fruits and bugs.
Another idea that he set loose was to create living shadows, pieces of darkness that lived in the night as well as small cramped places in the day that the Sun's light cannot reach. They will stalk the mortals and cause bring them fear and dread.
These however seemed small to his last big plan. It was then that Slovien decided that if the god of the light will have a throne, then so too will the god of the night.
Slovien reached into his robes and pulled out a silvery orb. The orb grew, bigger and bigger until he felt it was of suitable size, the Moon the god of fear decided to call it. It was a beautiful orb of a silvery glow, and since Slovien is the son of the god of the sea it seem the Moon held some power of the tides as well. However, fear must be what this beautiful object holds, not awe or wonder. And so Slovien created even greater shadows that were larger, smarter, and stronger than the ones on earth. They would create visions of horror and dread on the surface of this moon, just in case the humans forget who the night belongs to. They would need to stay on the moon due to the creators decree, but that is just fine.
This drained him, as Slovien knew he spent more than needed to be recognized as the god of the night, but he fell it was worth it nonetheless. He will need to wait until his right as the god of night can be recognized but he can be patient.

Owl wiped away its inattentiveness. Yes, the skies changed, but that is the nature of moving things--to move. "What an interesting axiom," she cooed, "To have already chosen your selective philosophies." It gazed out and onward, not to any particular moment or collective. "And the question is of form or mind, to your eyes. To build upon brotherhood and to guide mankind into moral absolutes, or to change the body beyond its capabilities. To the first, I have hesitations about absolute law. And the latter, to fringe upon the first's design is not worthy of my own time." It paused in a moment that ached. "Perhaps then, the best manner or course of action at this time is to allow each of you the chance to show your questions unto the world, and to extract each your own answers. Yes." Owl spread her wings, and took to the sky once more. Her voice carried, still. "Already, our brother, the fourth, creates. He does not wait upon debate, but merely acts as he sits fit. Even now, the stars convene into divinity as you have said, and they create and deem. Let us view upon the nature of consequences."
TAB Owl swept over the City of Man, and made great circles. It found a liking of this gathering, and thus spoke to Urs Ignatus. "You convene the mortals, as our brother, the third, had sought to convene us gods. The question becomes, is it effective to debate over matters? Let us see this inquiry through." She descended into the city, becoming a tiny mote among the mortals. She flew from mind to mind, and sought out the desirable bits. "Do not feel that I intrude upon your domain, brother," it said to Urs Ignatus. It spread its wings wide once more, and arranged a great construction of bricks and arches, of shelves and of empty books ready to be written. "I have taken your design, and made it to my own will, in the interest of us all. Now, allow the mortals to come, and to discuss."
TAB And a tower loomed over the city, alight with the fires of sun and star. It was a severe kind of building, one of menacing capabilities, but also of potential beauty. The kind of raw beauty that comes from something untapped, unexploited, ready for great change, that it burns inside your mind's eye and compels you to expose your truest.

The highest point is a great aviary, where Owl and other gods may visit, but is mostly kept locked to mortals.
The Circle Parliment is a gathering of intellectuals, to discuss the matters of the verse. Their eventual purpose will be to govern the forces of magic, but most of those don't exist yet. Currently could be filled with priests using holy magic, and master smiths using Orichalcum and Star Jade. They also serve as teachers to new students within the Great Library.

He decides he should make his own group of people, those that do not just live on the bottom of the sea, cowering from the world above. Pirates they are to be called, they will be able to survive on land and under the water. They will be free from any laws, and they will do what they must to survive, by living the life of an outlaw. He took twelve of the mermen and changed them, not only physically but mentally, they looked more like men now, but with gills, they can breath both above and below the water from lungs and gills. Their legs became human-like, but webbed between the toes so that they can swim and walk on land.
But he also changed them mentally, these would be dashing pirates, not just men, they thrived for freedom to sail the seas and pillage towns. But he also gave them a conciounce so that they won't kill inoccent beings for fun and that the only laws they will obey is what their heart and brain tell them to do. Dinfale frowned. Then he spoke simultaneously to the Unspoken and the Owl. "I am not strictly speaking against giving gifts to mankind that will change what he is capable of. I am, however, against not teaching mankind right from wrong."
He then thought quietly for a moment, reflecting on how he had made this plane for the purposes of harmony, had created the Pact of the First Ones to further good, healthy relationships between the lords.
And then he remembered the feeling of fear that the Unspoken had been, and how he had made that fear tangible, had given it voice and thought. And he became angry! And somewhat irrational. "Why is it that the Owl would choose not to join us in the pact? Is he planning on attacking mankind? And am I so boring as to cause Urs Ignatus to simply leave my presence, specifically before I could tell him about the pact?..." Dinfale then became quite angry.
"By golly, I will make him listen to my idea, and if he doesn't join us..." he left the thought unfinished in favor of teleporting to earth. Upon arriving he slammed his fist into his open palm, sending shockwaves through the atmosphere and into the ground he was standing upon. KABOOOM! Whomwomwhomwomwhomwomwhomwomwhomwomwhomwom. And then Dinfale heard a sound, like the beating of a heart. Whumpwumpwhumpwump. And as he listened closely, he became terrified. "What have I done? I am the one that has preached for harmonious relationships, and now I have begat a Terror into the world." And with that he fled to Urs Ignatus.
"Urs, I know that I was boring, but please listen, I will make this short. I proposed a pact right after you left, and it was thus: If our views on what mankind needs and how those needs should be met are contrary to each other, we will talk it out instead of coming to blows. And should we find ourselves incapable of coming to any kind of agreement we will not personally battle any humans that serve the other person. The Great Flock
While Suloea's brother flew and wandered within her great flock another part of her was else where - flying with wind beneath her wings. Alone, yet never lonely, (her feathered friends at her side, and part of her as she was part of them) Serene, beyond mischance (for they flew north, as one flock, birds of prey and birds of song - the murderous shrike and the purest swan) The world was theirs, her only (looking down from above, casting their shadows upon pirates and the city of man - they flew onwards).
Flight is freedom in its purest form, To dance with the clouds which follow a storm; To roll and glide, to wheel and spin, To feel the joy that swells within; To leave the earth with its troubles and fly, And know the warmth of a clear spring sky; Then back to earth at the end of a day, Released from the tensions which melted away. The sky was hers and theirs and what diffidence between the two was lost in the blue - and yet.... distaste. Grossness in the back of their beaks and they saw beneath them walking things, and those who swam beneath the waves in fear. Their shadows touched them and then passed over and each raven's eye shrewdly noticed - they had no wings... and could not appreciate the sky and only looked at the birds in jealousy and the birds grew rightfully proud.
Suloea sang a song, and was taken up by each bird in turn - high pitched with melody, copied over and over harmoniously it became a beautiful gentle wind, and the grand flock flew together and then descended to rest amid falling feathers. And Suloea at the spot (far far away from the city of man or where man ever strode) - raised a grand mountain, full of trees and twigs suitable for nests and crags and small holes suitable for eyries. And at the pinnacle of the mountain was a nest made of a single feather from each bird that ever was - white dove and black crow, brown pigeon and the garish peacock. And in this nest was a great Roc; the king of birds, and his feathered court which nested all over the great mountain.
Where was Suloea? She was the birds, all of them - she was the flock. And from the feathered heights she looked upon the works of the other gods, and seethed at their earthbound forms: the shadows of her feathered congregation cast themselves over human and merfolk and Suloea nested - content and smug.
AP 14:
[1] Create monstrous life: Roc. A regal gigantic bird of prey. A roc is big enough to carry off a human off in one of its claws and it's beak is large enough to bite a humans head clean off. While in the description i said a court and king of Roc's exist - that is not the case - they are merely the biggest predator among the feathered species .
[1] Alter Land: The Feathered Throne. A great mountain existing on the opposite side of the world from where the City of Man lies. The Feathered throne is the natural nesting place of every species of bird in the world. At it's pinnacle is a large nest made out of the feathers of every bird species in the world - in that nest is the eldest Roc. The mountain itself isn't anything special - it is not the tallest, nor is it like a needle piercing the sky. It is merely the home of the birds. Most birds including the Roc, do not hunt or kill each other while on the Feathered Throne

The Great Flock
And from the beaks of all the birds in the flock, at the same time, from up high and from each side and angle the birds - Suloea - answered.
"I am Here Brother"

Gain ability: Inconceivable: Suloea is composed of basically every bird in existence. She is a great flock - all of the birds are part of her and are her. Even for a god it is hard to make sense of, as so she is hard to understand and is inconceivable in that respect.

Owl's AP = 7. (16) - (3, Weave Sanctum; The Great Library) - (2, Form Order; The Circle Parliment.) - (1, Create Concept; Teaching and Learning) (3, Gain Domain; Good (Order)).
GOOD (ORDER); (3) Create Race, Stars; (2) Form Order, The Circle Parliment; (1) Create Concept, Teaching and Learning.
The Great Library is both a building in the City of Man (not Urs Ignatus' own plane, the Endless City, though some halls might lead there) and Owl's personal rook. It is a great tower, filled with many empty rooms, waiting to be filled with mortal knowledge.
Furthermore, if no one's really got anything to it, writing is formalized as a concept under Teaching and Learning.
Urs Ignatus saw the works of the Owl and smiled. Now the humans would have a place to debate and to learn from one another and the world! Their race was one step closer to greatest prosper!
"I see what you have done in the City of Man, sister, and I am pleased. A place of wonder in a city of wonder, appropriate."

The great cosmic bird ruffled its feathers, and flew upon divine winds in the starry sky. Her voice carried, thundered and boomed, and then she appeared before Dinfale and Urs Ignatus. "Rash, conceited fool," its dark and infinite eyes stare down the man-god. "Do not impune me because I do not settle for your own philosophy, and do not be so quick to judge the world into right and wrong." She crackled, like lightning, a peaceful reminder that they sky is its domain. "I would eat you, like the small field mouse you are, were you to speak my name in foul tongues again."

He dived through the cloud he was sitting on and landed in a grassy field where a group of human children were playing. "Hey! I'm the god Aeolus and how would you all like to fly like me? C'mon... don't be shy." After a few moments one of the kids nodded and then the rest of them started nodding. "Okay then there's no backing out now! Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime and a lifetime of adventure and flying!" One of the older kids started to speak. "But-" Then his mouth was suddenly replaced with a beak as winds started blowing around Aeolus and the kids, lifting them all up into a cloud as their bodies started to change.
When the winds died down a while later, everyone looked like a mix between a Griffon and a Human, including Aeolus. Aeolus stood up on wobbly legs and examined them. "Whoops, didn't mean to make myself more like you guys... what?" One of the kids, a girl, had starting laughing at Aeolus, pointing at him, "You're naked!" she shrieked. Then the rest of the kids started laughing at Aeolus as well. Aeolus looked down in between his legs and then at the kids. "Oh...? Pants right?" He fashioned a pair of pants for himself out of the cloud, the fabric being ridiculously comfortable and of the purest white color. "Now then! Lets goo!"
He dived off the cloud and fumbled around for a bit, having to find his center of gravity again. He got the hang of flying in this new form just in time to pull out of the dive before he hit the ground. He yelled out in delight as he flew back up to the cloud. The kids didn't seem to want to jump. "C'mon guys! Everyone has to leave the nest sooner or later! Here, I'll help!" He snapped his talons and then the cloud disappeared, sending the kids earthwards. Luckily all of them figured out flying at least soon enough to avoid hitting the ground... at least not too hard. He flew down to meet them, standing on the grass. After a few moments they all got up and ran over to Aeolus, stumbling a bit on their new legs. Aeolus grinned, "That was fun right?" The kids all nodded and grinned in return. "Well that's flying for ya! C'mon, let's go meet my sister? Be careful though, she's a bit... weird." He turned around and did a running jump into the air, flapping his wings and flying up back to his sister, the kids followed him as he landed on a cloud. The Unspoken watches as his son takes this creation, molding them again into the form of his own.
Satisfied the Mermen are in good hands he vanishes, the sound of waves drowned out by the Actual waves
Appearing over the annexed territory of Earth
<URS IGNATUS! I would speak with the usurper of my Seas. You could have formed your city of humans ANYWHERE on the vast plains of Earth but instead you steal some of my Ocean!
I will soon fix this.>
The vengeful sea roars up, a massive tidal wave shadowing the beaches the whole way around the enormous Earthen continent
<Water of the Ocean, soak the plain of Earth, divide it into many smaller forms as you make your path through them, cutting through any obstacles in your path.>
The water coalesces into many towers of pure water, roaring with rage at the blasphemy of Earth expanding so soon after being created simply for a city.
These 'Rivers' as they would come to be called cut lines of rock, moving in perfectly straight lines from any point on the coast, crisscrossing several times. The waters never diverting, running up and down mountains, ignoring gravity as they carved pure lines. Each river digging a set amount into the dirt, always the same the whole way along (unless crossing a deeper river), running up and down hills without increasing or decreasing furrows
In the very center of the continent several rivers converge, spilling their banks to form a massive lake, ringed by mountains to retain the basin of water.
The divine power of the Unspoken infusing this place
<Here in the very center of the Conquering Earth shall lie the Wellspring, from where the Monsters that will become as Legend will spring from. The scourge upon which will haunt the land-bound as punishment for their Greed.>
As the Unspoken watches the first few Horrors pull thmselves from the filling basin
"My Lord we are Monsters of the Earth, how may we serve you." The first says
The Deep One smiles and commands <Go forth and combat the denizens of this land, paying specific attention to those who possess the Greed to take what is not theirs. Become that which is feared and spoken of in whispers throughout the entire day, as the Skeletons and Zombies are feared only in the night but leave those that are self-less the ones that would not take anothers, through theft or advantage.>
The 5 forms of Horror nod as more spring forth, forming into monstrous forms made of water before they step out of the Wellspring and take on flesh and blood, letting the outgoing Rivers take them, spreading them throughout the Earth to Hunt.
The God vanishes from sight in the mountains, reappearing next to Dinfale and Urs Ignatus
<You stole some of my Seas. So I stole some of the Earth right back. You had the whole wide continent to place your City but instead covered my beautiful deep Seas with rock and then built a city for land-dwellers on it. That is the Epitome of Greed, to take what is owned by someone else for use when you have enough land for yourself.
I believe I shall aid Dinfale in developing the spiritual and moral connection of these Mortals by forcing them to Adapt. Behold the first Horrors, the Trackers of Greed. I believe this shall be a suitable punishment and no further action is required for your theft AND helps build the world we oversee.>

-1 Alter Land: The Rivers of Rage
These rivers always run in one direction, from the entrance to the exit on the other side of the Earth, varying from massive kilometer long channels digging deep into the ground to tiny rivers a rabbit can jump without getting their feet wet. Nothing can prevent or divert their path, they attempt to cut or sweep away any diversion or build up and overflow above the obstruction if made of something impossible to wear away from the cutting force of water
-1 Alter Land: The Wellspring of Horrors
From here forms the Horrors of Emotion, made from the pure water filtered in by the Rivers of Rage that lead to this place.
Several Rivers lead to and from this place, running between the peaks of the Mountains that hold the water from flooding the Earth. Not all the Water that enters becomes a Horror and not all Rivers connected are moving towards, some acting as funnels for too much water or methods of carrying the Scourge of the Greedy to their prey
-5 Create Monstrous Life: Horrors of Fear, Sadness, Calm, Envy and Surprise
The 5 forms of Horror made in the Wellspring, representing 5 of the 6 Emotions of Uncreation (Sloth being the lonely one that I have other plans for)
Fear: Has the ability to provoke pure fear and terror in all that behold it, leaving all but the most strong-willed cowering
Sadness: Forces a Human that hears it speak relive all the sad moments they have caused others
Calm: Produces lethargy in it's opponents, making them weak and slow
Envy: Whispers in everyones mind to provoke discord and betrayal among it's enemies
Surprise: Has no ability that affects its opponents, instead focusing on itself, being insanely fast and agile always taking the offensive to seek the unguarded in their time of weakness before the battle truly starts
-1 Bless: Greed-Tracking
Any Horror can track a person who is innately Greedy (like a fat wealthy merchant who rips off their customers) like a bloodhound can a rabbit. Greed is a smell they can track
-1 Bless: Selfless Immunity
The truly selfless among the Mortals are exempt from the huntings of the Horror, the ones that oppose the Greedy and donate to charitable causes regularly are Selfless and invisible to a Horror's sight

And he smiled, pleased that a good work had begun.
That's your cue, Eshkigal. Post away, buddy. :smallcool:
Much time passed after Dinfale left part of his divine power in the stones of the world. But isn't that what every plant, from the smallest weed to the greatest tree, needed? Around a forested hill, dozens of trees grew their roots down, together, around the spark. They grew through the stone, the soil, rearranging everything below the surface. They grew deep, piercing metals which they wrap around, to make bones. For who knows how long, they grow, and mold the land, growing ever more tied to the spark and the soil.
Until one day, they rise. The ground around the hill heaves, mighty plates piercing the surface, vines and roots visible just below the surface. Four mighty legs, woven from the ores of the earth and the roots of the mightiest trees burst from the ground, and from a massive hollow, a head weaves itself from the boulders and the nearby plantlife. Upon the former hill, plants of all kinds burst from it, covering the whole thing as Nordul the Lord of Plants arose, taking his first breaths.

The various birds flew around the Aeolians and looked at them with shrewd eyes. Curious eyes full of displeasure. The birds hopped from shoulder to forearm, and flew between and around the newcomers to the sky. Some birds pecked at their skins, and the Aeolians cried out in surprised pain, other birds nested in their hair, softer than twigs for sure. Still the greater number of birds simply flew in their patterns and continued in their play - paying them no heed. They sang and they cawed, and then in one voice all the birds spoke. The birds in their maelstorm, the birds trying to get to the juicy looking eyes the Aeolians contained, even the birds peacefully nesting in the soft down fair hair....
"Birds they are not. You should not have elevated them up so high, they are mere children and will not survive the coming storms. Yet they are a vast improvement over their horrible parents. I shall acquiescence to their existence, as long as they act like air born nobles as befitting their god given wings - and respect their predecessors in the sky with obedience and worship."

Nordul watched, seeing the tides of undead facing the throngs of humanity, and shook his head in sadness. The world didn't even know how to keep itself safe, and already such dire threats arose? He strode down, through the lands, a sea of green following him in his wake as he came to the first of many human settlements, watching him with fear and trepidation. Seeing their concern, he chuckled.
"Fear not, small ones. I come to teach you how to guard yourselves with shells of stone and metal, build walls of stone and wood, grow food so you may not go hungry and may have plenty. All I seek is but a few moments, and that you spread this knowledge for me as well."
And thus he spoke, and the masses became enlightened, and those who heard his words spread the teachings across their community, through their village, until like wildfire his teachings had caught on, humanity showing the profits of his tutelage. And he saw his word heeded, and smiled.

Dinfale turned towards Urs Igantus and bowed. "Thank you for joining so heartilly in the pact. I'm glad to see someone else is so enthusiastic about it. Forgive me though, I must depart. I do believe that I owe Owl a gift..."
Dinfale then stepped back into his plane. "Hmmm, what to make, what to make..." Dinfale's eyes then lit up. "Ah ha!" He then set himself to gathering much metal from his plane. After doing so he heated the metal and purified it. Once done with that, Dinfale shaped the metal into what at first resembled a deep bowl. Carefully molding it, he finished shaping the golden helmet. "And for a finishing touch..." Dinfale then took a smaller piece of metal and made a crest on the front, two wings coming off of a tall cumulonimbus cloud with lightning striking downwards underneath the cloud. "That ought to do it."
After finishing the Helmet of the Clouds, Dinfale stepped through space and into Owl's sanctum. He then gently placed the Helmet on a red pillow. "I do hope he likes it. I'm quite tired and won't be able to make a new one," Dinfale thought to himself. He then stepped away again, seeking out his progeny.
After arriving, Dinfale spoke in a clear voice, "Hello, Nordul. Welcome to earth. I have a proposal to make with you: If our views on what mankind needs and how those needs should be met are contrary to each other, we will talk it out instead of coming to blows. And should we find ourselves incapable of coming to any kind of agreement we will not personally battle any humans that serve the other person. I proposed this in the interest of preventing any kind of divine war waged on earth. I will let you know that three others have made this pact. Urs Ignatus, the Towering Forge, The Unspoken, and the great mystical Owl all agreed to it. I am the one that created the pact. Will you join us?"

"You are my Father. Why would I not? All I seek is that they and other races know how to keep themselves and others safe. Now, to seal this, a small gift, to all the Lords."
He shakes his back, and a tree on his back opens thousands of buds, dropping innumerable seeds. A mighty gale whips up, snatching them from him and scattering them across the world, and the effects are almost immediately noticed as the world becomes covered in a new sea of green, forests of all kinds spreading from where he stands. In the sky, a new kind of plant bursts into existence from his seeds, great vines lined with sacks of gas lighter than air that are produced, fertilized by the birds and designed to absorb more from the sun, looking like tiny specks from below for now as they lash themselves together. Upon the volcanic peaks, another strange form of life grows, crystalline in form and a rich purple hew. When one volcano erupts, the trees, shrubs, and grass of crystal shatter, and once the lava flow settle, in this time of great growth, they spring back up, more plentiful than before. Even the depths of the seas aren't unaffected, sprouting plentiful forests of kelp, seaweed, and other vegetation for it's denizens.
He smiles as he watches the humans begin their work, harvesting from the trees food and supplies to make shelters of their own.
"Do you think they'll like them?"

Birds all over the world were at first frightened by the strange intrusions into the sky - plant's tethered by long vines stretched into the sky, they bore fruits that kept them afloat. Yet the fruits of the gas garden provided fantastic and marvelous nests and habitats for the birds, and when away from the Feathered Throne birds would usually fly to these gas gardens as they became a cornucopia of colors. Suloea clucked in distaste, the sky was meant to be pure, but there was a lot of sky - this small intrusion was a welcome boon to her subjects and she was willing to allow them this small pleasure. But should they stretch higher - sooner or later Suloea will no longer acquiescent.

Drexoroth sailed the sea, his crew of twelve men proving useful due to their amohibious qualities. But, his father did something that is not acceptable. He has been trying to scare humans into doing what he beleives is right. Although Drexoroth despises needless cruelty and hatred, he can not stand for the gods to stop the humans freedom. He sails to where his father is meeting with two others of the four early ones, his uncles. "Father, what you have done is against everything I beleive in. You have brought me into this world and allowed me to do what I please, but what you do does not please me one bit. You have created beings that will stop humans from having a free will. I stand for freedom, even if what the pirates I create do sometimes follow the path of evil, they should not be made to do something that does not come natturally to them. Those horrors that you have made, just as you made me, are evil beings and I suggest that you uncreate them. You have created a pact between the four original gods, but I would like to join it, so that my pirates and I have say in how this world is created."

A thought occurred to Slovien. It was an incredibly foolish foresight on his part, really. The non-blood-drinking bats he created didn't have a food source. He didn't care if the bats suffered, but it would be a waste to create them just to have them all starve to death.
His newest cousin created fruits with his plants that would solve half the problem, but the other half he would have to solve himself. And so Slovien landed an earth and billions upon billions of tiny creatures poured from his cloak. Many crawled on the ground and many still took the air. Many fed on these new plants, others fed on eat other, and a few even fed of the blood of humans. They would feed the bats and perhaps spread some more fear amongst the humans as well.

<My son, the Horrors serve a role in Creation. To serve as an impetus to advance, to become Warriors and hunt them down, the Mortals should not find themselves without competition lest they make their own. For it is in their nature to think in terms of In and Out. I gave them the Horrors to serve as targets, the Monster-Hunters that will form to combat these beasts will advance their society both technologically and mentally, letting them choose what paths they which to take.
Do they become even more Greedy, relying on the Hunters to keep them safe or do they become as saints, to avoid the gaze of the roving Monsters. But, it is their Free Will, their choice as to what course they take. I did not force them to choose a Specific Option, but instead made them choose A option.>

Most of the Aeolians were surprised by all of the birds suddenly speaking out at once but one of them, a little girl, was too busy playing with the songbirds in her hair to notice. She picked up a songbird in her talons and nuzzled it.
"That's nice sis... so you're really set on the whole people worshiping you thing then? Technically, all the birds that make up you aren't the first birds there ever was if you get what I'm saying." Aeolus made a double pointing gesture for no reason. "But hey, that's cool, I'll just be here chilling with my Aeolians. Might pick up the whole nobles thing later and oh... what's this?" He turned to face the little Aeolian girl holding the songbird.
She turned to face Aeolus, "I think your sister's pretty!" she held up the bird to Aeolus's face.
"..."
The bird chirped.
"Yeah I guess she is, she's all of these birds ya know right? Even the more... not-pretty ones."
She pouted, "Those ones are pretty too if they're her!" Aeolus chuckled. "Alright, alright. What's your name kid?"
"I'm Synera!"
Aeolus pulled her to his side and then pushed her forward a bit. "Hey sis, turns out you've got a worshipper now! Ain't she cute?" Synera giggled. "I think she's officially your first one to boot. So whatdya gonna do with her?"
The rest of the Aeolians whispered amongst themselves...
"Do we all gotta worship her?" "Maybe?" "My wings are itchy..." "Well, if I have to I wanna worship that one." "Why don't you then?"
One of the smaller Aeolians was suddenly pushed forward to stand next to Aeolus. "um..." Aeolus looked at the little boy, barely 9 years old.

The song bird in the Synera hand nuzzled against the girl, and chirped a song, as a vulture landed on the girls head, and a pigeon landed on her shoulder. The vultures talons made sure not to scratch the girl, the pigeon on the other hand did not care. It the midst of the bird sounds - the began to make sense as speech, and they spoke as one again, full of pride and grace:
"I am only the consciousness of all the birds in the world, dear brother - from the first to those who are yet to come. From their earth trapped forms in their prisons of birth to when they sore against the sun and through the clouds. As for worship, I do not require nor seek it, I am too beautiful, too powerful, too wise and mighty to be concerned with such thoughts - I exist for the birds. So that they will be respected and safe, their safety and freedoms ensured - for the purity of the sky."
The birds paused and resumed their mindless shrieks and songs, each individual - when in unison they spoke.
" The hierarchy of the sky now includes your earth freed human, and they will respect my birds, from the smallest hummingbird, to the largest Roc. And I will ensure that they may fly anywhere with nothing to impede them - but they must do so with civility, for now they breath the rarefied dignified air of the sky"
The songbird in Synera flew up to the pigeon and shooed it away, it saw that it was bringing pain to the little girl, who was holding on to her tears in the face of the two divinities.
The song bird spoke alone...
"Synera... you give me hope for those who were not born for the sky, you are like one of my beautiful birds, perhaps I shall show you the Feathered Throne, where all the birds in the world live. If you behave, I will make you a noble princess, would you like that?"
The vulture on her head echoed the last sentence gravely, and the rest of the birds repeated only the first three words of that first sentence.

The boy inhaled deeply. "I really like those ones!" He pointed again.
"Cool. Those ones are predators, they hunt the little creatures that live in the fields. They're called falcons. What's your name?"

"What was that?"
The boy then shouted, his wings spreading to the sides. "I'm Hytice and I like falcons!"

The whirlwind of birds continued to to fly and perch on the Aeolians when they suddenly stopped - the silence was almost painful compared to the din the chirps and caws made while the birds were lively, but now each bird looked into the sky in contemplation as five great white Roc's arrived. Their shadows cast upon the ground were like those of giant clouds, they themselves resembled clouds, the mountains of the sky, more than their small cousins, even the mightiest eagle was but an ant compared to them... yet they flew into the midst of the maelstorm of feathers, and the rest of the birds resumed their activities - each of the Roc's had their own assortment of small sparrows and cardinals and blue jays perched upon them - they looked like gorgeous caravans - for they were, a royal caravan. They spoke in unison, along with every other bird in the storm, one unified female voice - vainglorious yet motherly:
"Very well, all exalted children freed from the earth, I take upon my many breasts and under my many wings, they shall be mine and, I shall be theirs as well. They will all be princes and ladies of the Feathered Throne, if they follow me and learn the ways of nobility and civility and if they behave I shall grant them their crowns."
With that the Roc's spread their wings, and slowly flapped, unleashing great gusts of wind that blew smaller birds and the awkward children astride - they were clearly welcoming any who wished to follow them into the sky, and to the land of the Feathered Throne, where birds are born and die, and perhaps were a child torn from the cold bosom of the earth, may learn how to act like the sky demands you act. Like a prince, or a princess... like a free bird.

When the Rocs appeared most of the Aeolians's beaks stood agape with awe. The first one to fly out to meet them was Synera who wrapped her arms the best she could around one of their beaks making a sort of squeeing sound.
The next one to fly out to the Rocs was Tomias, landed onto the back of one just below it's neck, being quiet for a few moments before yelling out an arrogant declaration. "I'm going to be the Price of Roc and then I'm going to be King! I'm going to rule over everything and show those humans who's boss! They'll get what's coming to them! All of them! They're going to pay for being mean to me!" He raised a fist into the air and yelled. He then kicked the Roc with his legs much like you would kick a horse. "Yah! To my Feathered Throne!"
The rest of the Aeolians, who had been getting on the backs of other Rocs themselves, stopped and stared at Tomias. Unsure if he would be punished by Suloea for his words or what would happen next.

The rest of the Aeolians, who had been getting on the backs of other Rocs themselves, stopped and stared at Tomias. Unsure if he would be punished by Suloea for his words or what would happen next.
It is foolish to think you may ride a Roc contemptibly. Even more foolish to do so when you knew Suloea was there. A Roc is a huge bird, the largest that ever was and to be, it's wings could wrap themselves around an Aeolian completely, its beak could break them in half. As such, the Roc flew up into the sky at great speed, the inexperienced Tomias was thrown off - confused - terrified, as from the sky came a darkness. The Roc flew back, with the sun behind it, the other birds scattering away, it's wings folded into its body, and then suddenly: Tomias was trapped in a large claw and confronted with one of the great eye's of the large bird of prey.
Yet it was the humming bird innocuously perched on good Synera's shoulder that spoke: a tiny voice in contrast to the anger and wrath it contained.
"King?! Prince of Roc's!? You shall be lord of no bird, ever! None of you shall. Lords of men, perhaps, if you behave - Your crowns will be bestowed by me as stewards of the domains upon which our shadows fall upon - remember that young human. Look towards your good sister Synera and follow her example - she is as pretty and noble as a bird, you on the other hand are filled with ignoble humanity. Purge yourself before you step foot on the Feathered Crown and you may be a prince yet, if not... your wings will be clipped for such display of incivility does not deserve to be in the sky"
The humming bird bristled in outrage, and then began to hum... most prettily - the Roc unleashed Tomias from it's talons. Suloea knew she was dealing with children, her response was measured as such. Forgiving, merciful and teachable.

Tomias screamed in terror when he was dropped, his wings flailing wildly. He was on a direct crash course towards the ground when Aeolus reached out a talon and caught the little brat by his tail who screamed out in pain as the force of his fall nearly ripped his tail clean off.
Aeolus frowned at him, "Wrong move, now be nice and apologize for being a brat." He swung Tomias around so that the boy landed with his face in the cloud. Tomias lay there, sobbing for a while. When he finally got up, he looked around and wiped the tears from his furry cheeks. Aeolus was standing there, folding his arms. "Make sure to apologize nicely or I'll drag you back to your parents as you are right now."
Tomias sniffed and nodded, looking down and recited his apology, "I'm sorry bird goddess, I won't do it again," he then looked up at the other Aeolians and started yelling, "BU- MPHMHPM!"
Aeolus had covered the brat's beak with a talon, "Now, now, don't say anything that'll get you into more trouble." Tomias turned to muffled yelling and clawing at Aeolus's arm, which was impervious to the kid's mortal talons. A few minutes later of Aeolus holding Tomias in place he let the child go and he fell onto his knees, gasping as if Aeolus had been suffocating him. He said nothing as he jumped up and flew over to the rest of the group.
All throughout Synera had assumed her best noble "displeased" expression she could muster and folded her arms as he directed it towards her peer.
Meanwhile, the other Aeolians had started murmuring among themselves.
"We won't get to rule over birds?" "But why?" "Look at what happened to Tomias! I want to go home!" "But we can't! We're Aeolians now!" "Well, my mommy said she would always love me no matter what!" "Well my pa would probably kill me! Your ma would probably do the same!" *crying* "But I wanna know why birds are just better than us for no reason! It's not like most of them are-" "Shush! Do you want to be taken way up and dropped too!" "But it's true!" "Shut up! I know your uncle owns a chicken coop!"
Aeolus sighed, hearing the murmuring, and motioned to his sister. "Sister, could I speak with you in private for a few minutes? I have a couple questions for you about my Aeolians and your birds.

motioning to Suloea is a complicated matter, she is after all many birds at once, and is impossible to tell which birds are her as they enter and fly away at their own pleasure - suffice to say, if Suloea was talking to you she was composed of any of the birds in the vicinity, and she is extremely polite.
"Why yes brother..."
With that four great Roc's flew over to Aeolus and surrounded him with their great wings, while other birds kept the feathered cocoon afloat. Within the darkness, Aeolus was faced with the four great beaks and eight great eyes of the Roc's as they opened in unison, and instead of the usual shrieking hunting cries, the melodious voice of his sister emerged.
"There now... your children shall not overhear."

I proposed this in the interest of preventing any kind of divine war waged on earth. The Unspoken joined in the pact. Will you?"

Whumpwumpwhumpwump....The heartbeat went on for days and then suddenly stopped. The place where Dinfale displayed his anger on being seemingly rejected the pact he wanted, no grass had grown, no hill had formed and no animal had walked. It was a barren place about half a mile across in the middle of grassy plain.
Moments after the sound of a beating heart stopped, a claw made of black stone split the surface. Another claw of obsidian emerged from the earth quickly after the first. Both then flattened themselves and pushed down on the ground. A dark spiked head with a single dark blue gem emerged, followed by a great dark body.
The gigantic obsidian creature then stepped from the hole into the world.
Kargath, the Obsidian Warmonger, looked at the world in disgust.
This world is incomplete and sick. Where is the strife, where is the urge to survive? Kargath voice boomed across the plains and beyond.
He then wandered off towards the nearest human settlement and stopped there to watch. The undead should be awake this night and hunt for the living. Kargath did not move, standing there like a statue and ignoring the humans pointing at him. The gods they had met had been good. They werent cautious anymore, Kargath will teach them...in time. He would watch their strife this night and judge it.

"Father, I understand and respect your view and I would like to help make this world a better place, as would you. But you are going the wrong way about it. It's not about forcing humans to do what you beleive to be the right things, it's about giving them guidance to create better people. If you guide them and give them free wil, then they shall become better people by themselvs. Im ust leave now, but before I do, I must join your pact." Drexoroth left and returned to his ship to look upon what he has created and realised that he needed more folowers. Humans cannot breath underwater and merfolk can not go above the surface, so he made a decision and announced it to his crew. <Dinfale I would speak with you.>
The Unspoken uttered the name of the God, waiting for the God of travelling to arrive.
When he does:
<Greetings my brother, I wish to inform you of my newest son, he too wishes to join the Pact but it is not in my power to simply grant him access. Though, be warned he does have a, disdain, of anything that impinges upon Free Will and no respect for his Elders.
After that I wish to test my strength against you, a simple duel. The stakes being the creation of two specific organizations, the losing side shall be forbidden from creating their sponsored organization, forever and must with their own power create the winners organization to become a staple of Humanity. To lead them forward to see Tomorrow their way.>

Basically, I challenge you to Divine Combat
If I win you must spend AP on the following:
The Adapters. A group of learned beings, devoted to studying and grafting the traits of others onto their physical forms. Becoming slowly less pure as they add the best traits of everything.
if you win, then the Adapters are forbidden from ever being made (and their ilk so I cant introduce a similar organization called the Evolutionists) AND I must create with my own AP whatever organization you decide to wager.

The Obsidian Warmonger looked at the god in front of him and the humans fighting through the against odds. Their survival instinct made them run into the things they fear because they feared the god more. It was not the strife Kargath was looking for, merely an instinct. The human flesh and mind is weak, not ready for war and conflict. With one claw, he touched the ground and a black tarry liguid appeared, slowly taking the shape of an obelisk and then hardened. The Obsidian stone crackles with energy, standing high above the ground. The humans are weak, flesh and soul. Come and worship the prime element, Earth, and be blessed with resilience and the ability to fight. Not only will the blessed be able to fight the undead, but also to fight any who threaten them or have what belongs to them. Worship Kargath, sacrifice the unworthy and become strong.
As the first approached the Obelisk and Kargath they felt stronger already and learned how to forge weapons to defend themselves or, as Kargath preferred, attack others. It did not take long before the humans of this village all gathered and started to touch the Obelisk, slowly transforming.
Kargath spoke to the other god. It is a god, no doubt, but what kind of god is it? Why did it approach Kargath? What can it tell Kargath about the lesser elements coexisting with the superior Earth?

A flock of birds left the sanctuary of the Feathered Throne and flew over the domains upon which their shadows covered. Earth and water, they looked down and only saw their own forms rendered in black with the warmth of the sun against their backs. They shrieked and sang, and soared onwards to the lands of men.
At first, they only saw hovels and huts, humans living in the dirt, lawless and uncivilized. The birds cawed in disgust. The enormous flock descended to observe the grotesquery of humanity from up close. Landing on houses, and plows, looking at the humans who paid them no heed (disrespectful, indeed!) Their base lives, knowing not the glory and wonder of the sky, their only hope was to live in filth and stare occasionally at the clouds – pity. Their lives were disorganized, without the structure and law of the birds, who lived in balance with each other and with the world. Humans, merely took from the land and gave nothing back, they took from each other – for the sake of taking, not even nourishment as when the hawk grabs a mockingbirds. Lawless and shackled to the earth, creation surely was punishing them for some great crime. Nonetheless Suloea was royalty and she had her duty. Her shadow fell upon these lands, and for these poor souls she must do something, if only to elevate them higher from their poverty. Nobility obliges.
So Suloea, the grand flock, took off to explore the human lands further, to the lands of the City of Men, the lands of other gods, and her father – Owl, a grand deity in proper avian form, the scholar King of Sky of which she was the princess and steward. She never met her progenitor – she was curious why he would choose to make his domain here instead of among the birds at the Feathered Throne.
The City of Man rose from the horizon must like a mountain itself, vaulted buildings and arches, crevasses, nooks and crags perfect for nesting – already pigeons and hawks along with cardinals made their home among the roof tops – murders of crows always present. They joined the flock in flight as it hovered over the great city, their wings blocking out the sun.
Looking down the convocation still saw displeasing lawlessness, waste and incivility. Crime was not a concept known to birds, yet these humans took from one another, killed one another and not for survival. There was hate and misbegotten passion – they lacked the freedom of wings, and only added to their shackles with mistrust. And so the birds of the great flock came down from the sky, and the city became covered in feathers, and wings, as the birds hopped and flew from home to home. And in this silent unnatural way Suloea, spread her teachings. The concepts of aristocracy and nobility were whispered to the worthy from the beaks of eagles. The notion of etiquette and civility, of cleanliness was spread through the wind by swallows. Laws and rules, and methods of keeping them and enforcing them, changing them and abiding them were learned through the eyes of the parliament of owls.
A lone Roc perched on the highest tower, as the birds taught the populace of the world on how to behave respectfully, and the people of the world looked up into the shielded sun in wonder and awe. The Roc spread its wings, and small prayers escaped the lips of the humans, as ravens quietly whispers the virtues of respect. Humans would look at birds as sacred animals, and will avoid harming or imprisoning them, in fact when humans die, they would be laid out for the birds to devour.
Air burial might have been the truest reflection of respect; more visceral and poetic than the adherence to noble courteousness and law. Everything is given to the birds: the flesh, the lights, the meat, even the bones... Everything is swallowed by the sky. The birds were fed and nothing was wasted – charity and duty, pinnacles of gentility and payment for the wonders of civilizations the birds imparted to men and women alike.

Tarvin smiled at his sister. "That sounds lovely, my dearest Vintra. The Queen of Winter and King of Summer, keeping court in the frozen palace of world's end." Then, his spine straightened, and froze, his eyes going wide. "Sister...oh, my sweet, dear sister, I am sorry. But my golden throne shows me such glorious things! We have siblings! Cousins, yes, and uncles too, but siblings! Two, at the very least, born of sky like us! Oh, Vintra, my sparkling jewel, I must go. I must meet our siblings, for they too possess wonderous forms! But I will return. At nightfall, I will always return." And so saying, Tarvin shot towards the endless skies of Aurora, and broke through, into the Heavens of the Material, to sit upon his golden throne.
Material Plane-The Golden Throne
Tarvin gazed down from his seat in the highest sky, and laughed at all he saw. The tiny mortals, the playthings of the gods, being pulled this way and that, changed and molded to suit the great beings that walked among them. Tarvin alone did not touch them, alone he did not change the way they lived-though, soon enough, that would change. And Tarvin looked upon the many parts of the great flock Suloea, and the part lion, part eagle, part human form of Aeolus, and he laughed to see his siblings in such magnificent clothing. His was finer still, but it pleased him to see his relations in such good health, for it reflected well upon him.
"It is high time I met my siblings."
And, with this decided, Tarvin went for a walk across the sky, to meet with the other children of sky at the Feathered Throne.

Dinfale shivered as he replied, "Hmm, that is an interesting proposal. I see no reason why not. However, it would not be wise to do so while on this earth. And I ought to receive your son into the pact first. Give me a moment."
Stepping through space, Dinfale approached the Pirate Lord. "Welcome to earth, Drexoroth. I hear you wish to join in my Pact. Before you do so, I would prefer to tell you of what it is: I made a pact declaring that if any of the lords joined in the pact dissagreed about how we ought to guide the humans that we would talk it over, and should we be incapable of coming to any kind of agreement that we would not personally attack any humans serving the other lord. I created this pact in order to prevent any kind of divine war being waged on the earth. Now that you know what the pact is, you ought to know who has joined in on it: Urs Ignatus, the Unspoken, Nordul, the Owl, and I have all joined in it. And now that you know it, if you still wish to join, just call out to me that you wish to do so. You will have my approval. I must apologize though. I cannot stay here and talk. Your father has given me a challenge, which I have accepted. Perhaps at another time..."
And stepping back, Dinfale returned to his "brother." "Let us go." So, taking a "hold" on the Unspoken, Dinfale stepped into his own world.
"I ought to be honest with you. Should I win it may take some time for me to consider what kind of organization you would make for me. But let our words be over." Dinfale then stepped back, a smirk on his face.

just out of curiosity, is the automatic 2 mean a minimum of 2 damage? or is it on top of any you might make should you beat your opponent's defense? (aka does this mean that I could only do a maximum of 12 damage as I am now minus whatever defence an opponent makes, with the exception of not going lower than 2 damage even if my opponent's defence roll is higher than mine? does this mean that as a maximum I could do 14 damage minus any defense an opponent makes, with the same exception of not doing any lower than 2 damage?

motioning to Suloea is a complicated matter, she is after all many birds at once, and is impossible to tell which birds are her as they enter and fly away at their own pleasure - suffice to say, if Suloea was talking to you she was composed of any of the birds in the vicinity, and she is extremely polite.

Aeolus blinked, "That's a lot more private than I was expecting. Okay give me a moment to gather my thoughts..." He paced around with a talon to his chin, thinking hard. His wings flared out as he said this, then he started inhaling and exhaling deeply.
"Oh! something just crossed my mind, I and they are technically creatures of both land and air and if you want get all philosophical about it: civilization, destiny, promise, and well humanity." He sat in the air as he raised his hind-paws up so his sister could see them clearly. "These paws, these legs are those of great feline beasts that stalk the world below." He stands back up on his legs.
"Oh yeah, that reminds me! Why are birds automatically better then my Aeolians? Birds descended upon the body of Nordul, the living forest. Even the colorful tropical birds that made nests upon his bodies, toucans, parrots - colored wings, dotted the sky emerald, ruby and sapphire. Ebony crows and alabaster doves, sat upon the branches and trees on the god's encumbered back. Songs and shrieks as the birds lived their lives and in concert they spoke with a honeyed worried voice.

Let's try again. I'll ask each of my important questions again and then you answer each of them in kind okay?"

The birds present within the haven of feathers blinked slowly... they didn't expect their brother to be this dim, they thought they answered the questions most adequately and everything else was obvious... the birds spoke methodically, slowly, making sure to leave a pause at each punctuation mark.
"I see, it did not occur to me that human intellect soared as high as they flew, I apologize - I shall be mindful of this limitation in the future. Let me explain. I will instruct the children in lessons of civility, etiquette, honor, law, and duty of governance. The fact that you are not wholly of the sky concerns me greatly, as does the fact that your children are also not wholly of the sky - being base born they shall have human sins and desires, which are unwelcome in the sky. I shall show them how to behave like Nobles. With chance my tutelage they will rise above their earth bound roots. As for the perfection of the bird - I do not understand how you do not feel it in your wings - for you are of the sky yourself. Birds do not commit the crimes of men, nor do they undo the balance of the world - they live, pridefully and beautifully. They are above all others in spirit and fact. They were the first beings of the purity of the sky - even before us."

Aeolus nodded and thought his sister's words over and over again, several thoughts came to him, but he decided that any answers he was going to get were going to be 'birds are better' this and 'everything else is filthy' that.
..but he just couldn't resist once he had thought of a question that he thought would stump her for sure, "Okay then, one last question: Are not the stars above us better than your birds? They float up above this planet with grace and beauty, shedding light so that all may see it and be guided by it. They, by the same reasons your birds are better than humans, are better they themselves than your birds."

Then his cousin takes up residence upon his back, hundreds of herbivorous animals sniffing at them as they go about their business. Nordul chuckles slightly at the introduction.
"Ah, dear cousin, it cheers me to be on the ground. It lets my roots distribute life freely, and see to the needs of the land, which in turn nourishes all, even the creatures of the sky which compose your form. Did you like the gift I made for you and your denizens of the sky, by the way?"

Power to what? Send humans running for their lives, get killed while holding on to the illusion of safety? No, fear has its limited uses. It can drive a mortal into heroism or stupidity depending on the level of fright. Anger can do the same but not out of sheer panick but personal hatred. Kargath does not care what the reason of Strife is, aslong as its there. Fear can freeze a mortal and prevents it from doing anything at all, while anger always results in Strife. Kargath respects It and fear, for certain aspects. It must excuse Kargath, time will transform these into superior beings of stone and battle but there is much to explore in this world.
Kargath then went straight for the city of man. He felt the earth and stone arranged in masses for the humans to live in. He had to see it for himself, such a creation of stone with so many mortals in one place could be great canvas for his next masterpiece.

OOC Speak: During this post, this event "began" when Nordul left his resting spot, but the infected cells did not grow enough to form "it"'s conscious until now. That is why there can be mutated animals, per say. They are just very, very, very rare. Like three or four at most. Just mainly fluff though.
It was weak. But many. Incomplete, yet perfect. This is what it felt. It knew what to do. All of it, to those beings whose housed a few minor cells to the ones who looked like no other from the influence of it, felt a urge to move, to find others like it, to gather. And so it did. When a one being with enough of "it" in it found another, "it" felt growth. As one infected group found another, "it" felt purpose. Soon, instead of aimless wandering, the infected honed in a single location, as the call of "it" grew stronger.
Across the land, animals made from Nordul that had "it" inside of them gathered in groups, predators and prey following one another without bloodshed. The animals were few, and most of the infected had only a few cells of "it" in their bodies. But some where changed from the amount of "it" in them, deformed or mutated to look and act like no other beast in the forest. And then man. A few hunters had felled the rare beast that had "it" in it's body, cooked and then feasted upon the flesh. And ate the cells of "it". Soon, those men heard the call. And they answered. "it" felt the most growth from man. Felt the intelligence of the beings. When a man encountered a group of infected beasts, the beasts gather around and protected the man. Followed the man. Listened to the man's commands.
But every group, every infected walked towards one place. One purpose. The place where Nordul had rest was still filled with minor presence of the god. Still held some divine essence. And that place, that power, that energy called out to "it". And so "it" had answered, coming from every region to gather at this spot. Groups, ranging from a few infected, to those that had man or the mutated and counted dozens of beasts within their midst, arrived each day, every hour. Soon "it" had gather most of itself in that place. A few stragglers were soon to arrive, but "it" knew they would not be enough. The power here was too weak. So "it" begin to feast upon the place, devouring plant, life, and earth to gather what divine essence was left. But it was not enough.....

The last of "it" had gather in the place, feasting upon the diminishing essences with in the place. But then "it" felt the essence, no the....god...yes that is the word, coming towards "it". Man had given "it" knowledge, some. Not enough. But this god could. "it" gathered itself into one place, bodies of the beasts climbing on top of one another to form a living mountain of beings. And at the top set the few humans and mutated animals, waiting. For "it" was in them the most, gather the most knowledge from them, and felt the world most clearly from inside them. So, as the god approached, "it" set in wait.

The god was near. So close, yet "it"'s goal was so far away. But the god came into view, and "it" struck. Or tried to, but "it"'s body would not move. Not one of the infected animals, not one of the infected men, not even one of the mutated. "it" paused, examining itself for the first time. All of its bodies became still...and then separated. "it" felt itself violently tear away from the bodies and cells of the uninfected flesh, before draining, squirming, climbing its way into the center of the mountain of dead mass. The mutated turned into...liquid, leaving twisted blackened bones as the only evidence that they existed, before melting down into the core. Building up. Coming together. Ad midst the rapidly decaying bodies and stench of disease was "it".
And "it" was formed. The god, merely by coming close to "it" empowered the essence within the being for a brief moment. But it was a enough. The spark caused a chain reaction, setting off "it"'s own divine power that was building up in the cells and flesh of the infected. And, like a magnet, "it" had gathered itself, turning the flesh into pure divine power, the cells of infected into "it"'s body. And the liquid of the mutated, the beings most effected by "it", formed the very core of this new entity.
"Hello father. It is soooo nice to finally meet you. I must say, while it has been fun being a mere cell in a squirrel, I like this form so much better. Do you agree?" says a sickly voice as black liquid seeps up from the pile of bodies, now merely bones with a few strips of skin here and there, swirling above the pile. Suddenly, a shining white boot steps out of the swirling liquid and onto the topmost skull, a man's, before another steps out on the twisted skull of a mutated. As the rest of the body forms, a red glove reaches out of the liquid and twists itself in the air as if the mass was trying to bow to the god. As the rest of the body forms, the face of Infernique is blank, pitch black, expect for a thin blue line where a man's face would be. It widens into a mockery of a grin as the being takes a deep breath before thrusting it's head back and yelling "It feels good to be alive!" before quickly facing it's father, it's blue glowing eyes now open.

Norx was a hunter, a brave one at that. Unlike most others, he hunted in the deepest parts of the forest, going weeks without seeing another human, eating small game he killed while stalking bigger prey. During his latest hunt, Norx had snared a couple of rabbits and shot a squirrel out of a tree before taking them back to his camp so that he could prepare them as meals. But as he was about to start the fire to cook them, a bear stumbled through his camp, startling Norx who grabbed his bow and fire a couple of arrows into the animal. With a roar, the bear charged at Norx, who managed to jump out of the way at the last second, but received a nasty gash across his chest. The bear, now wanting to find easier prey, crashed through the underbrush and out of the camp, leaving a wounded Norx to tend to himself.
"Blast that bear! Blast all bears! The only game I cannot hunt, for their pelts are not worth carrying all the way back to market." Norx grumbles, as he wraps his wound with strips of cloth. After finishing the bandage, Norx turns towards his uncooked meal and begins to fix that, roasting the animals over a fire. As the smell of cooking flesh and melting fat float through the air, Norx spots another animal near the camp. "The bear must have killed it when it rampaged through the camp." Norx concludes, as he picks up the body of a strange rabbit, fur pure black but with completely white eyes. "Must of been blind." Norx mumbles to himself as he heads back to the fire. With a shrug, Norx skins and guts his new find before placing it on the fire with the others. Soon he gets the cooked morsels off of the fire before greedily devouring them, for his fight and wound had tired his body out. Reaching for the last one, the black rabbit, Norx manages to eat most of the flesh before suddenly feeling like a great weight had entered his body. Norx swayed on the spot, looking groggily around the camp before collapsing on the ground.
"Why, hello there! It is nice to meet you, mister..ah...Norx! I am what you would call a god, a divine being that controls certain aspects of the world. And believe it or not, you just ate part of me! Poor old rabbit, though I think it might have been a hare, was too old to make it to the gathering. That, and only a few cells of it were actually infected, so the call would not have been that strong as it was. Oh, but where are my manners! I should properly introduce myself; My name is Inferinque. Though you may call me Lord Corrupter. That has a nice ring to it, if I say so myself!" called out a voice in the darkness that was Norx's concinous . One part of him knew that Norx was in the camp, asleep on the ground. Yet this...was all too real. Suddenly, Norx found him in a large, blood-red room with two chairs in it, both seemingly made from bone and facing each other. And seated in one, was Infernique in all of his glory, so to speak. "Now, dear Norx, please have a seat." The god told the mortal, gesturing with his hand to the other chair.
Norx numbly feels his body move to the chair, sit down in it, and look the god in the eyes. Or where Infernique's eyes should of been. "Now, shall we begin to do business? The only reason I am doing this is because of coincidence, but that does not make it any less important. See, your actions have presented me with quite the choice: I could kill you now and stop the horror that might be born, or do nothing and let the infected cells course through your veins. I am sure that whatever shall be made from it will be quite...abnormal. And exciting. But there is a third choice. You see, before I became a god, the infected had the same two choices as you when the cells finally mutated, die from the pain or turn into something...different. But now that I am a god, I can offer you something no other being has ever had the honor to be: A perfect creation of mine. You see, I can now simply command the cells to work for you, not on their own. In a sense, you would lose part of your humanity but would gain immense power over your own body. The cost is not much. You simply have to spread my cells, which will multiply through your body, to others and follow some orders every once in a while." Infernique explains to Norx, who just listens stoically to the speech. Infernique leans back in his bone chair, which gives a few creaks and one large crack!, as he stares at the mortal before him. "The choice is yours, Norx. Which of the three do you choose?" Norx begins to move his mouth, only to find that his voice could not escape his throat. Norx looks down at his hands, trying to gain some minor confidence to speak to the god, but none comes. Finally, with great effort, Norx looks back up and whispers the faintest of words in all of history: "Lord Corrupter".
Norx awakes with a start, his memory fuzzy and his stomach empty. Glancing at his campfire, he sees that it had burned itself out days ago. "That's not right...I should not have slept that long." Norx mumbles to himself in disbelief. Standing upright, Norx unwinds the cloth around his chest to find his wound perfectly healed, not even a scare left. But what most disturbed him was the cloth itself, which had blood soaked on it from the wound. Most of the blood was normal, red cells, but the freshest blood on the impromptu bandage was tinged black. "Followers" suddenly echos through Norx's head, and he turns in the direction of the closest village. His facial feature harden as the bloody cloth falls from his hands before Norx sets off towards the village with a single sentence on his lips: "Yes, my lord."
Infernique watches as his new-found puppet heads towards the nearest settlement, towards the expansion of Infernique's goals. The thin blue line that represents his mouth curves into a smile, as the events that shapes history slowly fall into place. The world would soon know about the newest god, one way or another.

Drexoroth looked at his creations. The pirates were a growing order, with some humans becoming amphibious merfolk and joining the pirate guilds. But one ship with one crew wasn't enough and when multiple crew came into existence, the problem was even worse, they became disconnected. He needed a way to join them together, so he created a city, where outside laws and traditions are irrelevant, where freedom is enforced. In the heart of that portside city, he created the council of the free captains, all the captains go there to say what they must to the council of the five pirate lords, Captain Silver-tounge: the diplomat, Captain Hookblade: the warcheif, Captain Drex, the priest, Captain Woodnail, the boatmaker and of course, The Whirlwind King, ruler of the seas. With these five making sure that all pirates have their say in what happens within pirate communities, Drexoroth was satisfied with his now, completley ordered group of pirates.

After days of traveling, Norx finally spies his goal: A small village on the outskirts of civilization. Rogues and their families mostly, with a mixing of men who could not stand being around civilization but were too afraid to become hermits. That was all of the people that could be found here, all that would dare this far in the wilds. People who would not be missed. "Now Norx, we need followers and minions to complete my goal. We can not afford to use a more subtle approach, so do as you see fit." The voice echos in his head. Norx begins the walk towards the village again, this time with purpose in his stride. A few hours later, Norx enters the village and heads towards the center of it, attracting attention as he goes.
Children run in fear of him as he walks, women shriek in terror or stare at him with eyes of disbelief, and the men draw crude weapons with eyes that promise death at the slightest provocation. As Norx nears the center of the village, he thinks back on the past few days and the changes they have brought. During his journey Norx had grew from merely five feet in height to a towering seven feet, old muscles grew stronger and new muscles formed over his body, and though he stayed seemingly thin and lithe his weight was more than three of the grown men in the village. And right before he saw the village, the tattoos had begun to form: Strange black lines that curved into intricate figures and drawings covered his skin all over his body, making his visage seem dark and cruel to any that looked upon him. And his clothes...they grew from within him, formed by the black cells that inhabited his body, literally growing out from his skin to form the strangest gear Norx had ever seen: A form fitting suit seemingly made of the blackest leather covered by a dark red half-plate on his body, with a silken cloak the color of the sky hiding it all underneath it.
The villagers had a right to fear him, and not only from his appearance. "People of the village! I call upon you to listen to my words, to hear out my beliefs and witness the power of my lord!" Norx yells out in a unearthly voice before waiting for the villagers to assemble around him, the men circling him with weapons drawn while the women hid behind their husbands. "My lord wishes to show you the way of his teachings! To give the worthy the power to make something of themselves in this world! And I am his herald! To show you the way towards my lord, to help you find the power of which you can better thyselves!" Norx hollers at the crowd, throwing his arms up in the air. Most stare in disbelief, though Norx notes that a few had greedy glares in their eyes already. The promise of a god must not come to this village very much. "It is true, my lord gave me this body, this strength...." Norx continues to rant at the villagers...
...and Infernique watches the whole process. "Oh my, the puppet can listen to the master. And very well, at that. But he has completed part of the plan, and now I must also complete my part." He says, his mocking smile returning. The villagers, old and young, man and women, would suddenly hear Infernique's voice in their minds, giving them the same promises of power and glory that Norx was giving. Back in the village, half of the villagers stood in a daze, staring at random objects with glazed eyes as they listened to the voice in their heads. But the other half seemed quite angry at having their minds invaded, and decided to take it out on the most logical person: Norx.
Norx saw the work of his god, his patron as many of the people fell into a daze around him. "The power of my god is pure. Follow his commands, and you shall become a perfect being like myself. Go against him, and you shall be slaughtered in droves." Norx speaks in a quieter, calmer voice than before, for many in the crowd were no longer listening to him and the other half advanced upon him with weapons drawn. Norx puts his hands infront of him, facing each other, his right hand in a shape that looked like it was about to grab something while his left had its palm stretched out. Suddenly, a black hilt bursts out of his left palm and his right hand quickly grabs it before snatching backwards, pulling a fully formed long sword out his arm, still dripping black blood that had made it. Norx lashed out at the nearest villager, cutting through the wooden shield raised in defense and the man himself, neatly dissecting him from shoulder to hip. Norx turns towards the nearest attacking villager and cuts him down also, repeating the process until none of the attacking villagers were alive.
"Loyal followers of the Lord of Corruption, gather your old neighbors into a pile in the middle of the village. We shall leave in three days, for my Lord tells me that help shall arise then, and then we shall carry out his plans! And tonight, you shall begin the journey to become perfect beings yourself!" Norx yells at the still dazed villagers, who snap out of their trance like state and move to follow his orders. Later that night, in the largest house in the village, the remaining villagers raised goblets filled with black liquid before toasting the Lord of Corruption and drinking from the goblets. The next day, the children had rapidly grew into adults, deformities had disappeared, and bodies had grown more...perfect over night. And the next brought similar changes, leaving most men looking like six-foot versions of Norx, and the women six-foot Valkyries.
But the most fearsome changes occurred to the bodies of the dead: their flesh melted away, replaced by black liquid that acted like both muscles and bones, their old bones hardened and enlarged forming a distorted human skeleton on the outside of their bodies that acted as both armor and weapons, but the most gruesome changes were to the skull. It covered the heads of the bodies entirely, mouth filled with sharpened teeth and fangs, bone hardened so much that it was tougher then steel, black blood dripping from any openings except the eyes. The eyes had a blazing blue light shining from behind them, giving the mockery of eyesight to the things. And on the third day, as Norx and the villagers began to gather near the exit of the village, they arose as one and followed the group, solemn golems of bone and blood, sworn to serve the followers of Corruption. And so the procession of Norx, villagers and Blood Golems left the village and headed towards one of the largest human cities, Infernique's plans falling into place.

Three tiers:
Brood- Man that has encountered the black blood and gave into its influence. Most follow infernique, though later in the game some might be able to resist the call of the blood.
Wraith- Man that encountered the black blood but was consumed by it. Reduced to a savage beast who instincts are to spread the black blood. Can be controlled by members of the Brood.
Ghoul- Man that encountered the black blood and resisted it. Turned raving mad, though can sometimes act like a Brood or Wraith. Cannot be controlled, though it is not hostile to most creatures.)
Create Monstrous Life- Blood Golems 1 AP- Blood Golems are beings who get infected with black blood as they are killed or soon after they are killed. The skeleton hardens before enlarging, forming the outer shell of the golem while inner organs and flesh are reduced to Black liquid that acts like the new muscles and bones. Can be controlled by the Brood.
Create Legendary Concept (Black Blood)- 5 AP
This was originally a few infected cells that did not make it to the birth of Infernique and was soon devoured by Norx. Black blood reworks the system of the host into a more powerful form, gives the host regenerative powers, and forms new bones and organs as needed, not effected by age or diseases, and other minor advantages. Beings that have Black blood in them can sense one another, and can control weaker willed Black Blood members. The downside is that it provides a direct link to Infernique, who can directly interact with the cells inside of the being. Because of this, any of get infected with black blood soon fall in line with his plans or be driven mad through his actions.

How long had Owl sat watching? It was an unclear fact. She was, however, clearly satisfied with something it had seen. As the battle simmered to an end, Owl clucked in approval and spread her wings. It flew in soft circles around their heads, as small as a moth. Her mouthless voice spread.
TAB "What an amusing display. I am thoroughly entertained with your presentation." She did not linger on formalities. "What was that force you used? A curiosity is the divine's ability to force its will upon the world. Is that not how we shape the things we desire and design? Yet I heard you state," it draws lazily around the Unspoken. "I heard you state that any mortal could have this power."
TAB She cooed softly. "A shame, unchecked it would be the end, though something tells me you would partially enjoy that. No, not yet. It is still too early." It became man sized and stood and didn't move. "Already one of my children has shared this force with the mortals, has unlocked the potential to their eyes. She called it magic, so I suppose that is what it is. Magic, certainly an even ring to it?" He stepped closer to the Unspoken. "Certainly, all magic seems to stem from the will forcing itself upon the world. I have noticed that you speak it, and I have come across in my studies the ability to write it. The word seems to be the defining nature of its... definition." Owl smiled, could a beak smile. "Would you lend your power to mine, so that when the mortals receive this magic, they should be bound to the Word?"

Dinfale sighed in contentment as he felt the same divine force as before refreshing him. 'Twas truly wonderful, especially after the tiring duel.
Dinfale then turned towards the two other lords. "Hmm, binding all magic to the Word? Most interesting. That does seem like a good way to order such a thing. Unspoken, please do tell me when you are finished with the Edema. And thank you again for the challenge."
After speaking, Dinfale stepped through space and into the gathering place of the first ones. "So much activity from the various lords. Now that I have some of my strength again, I ought to consider what I'm going to do." And with those thoughts, Dinfale sat down on his plant covered seat of rock, musing to himself.

Arriving at the City of Men, Kargath felt the presence of the other gods.
He looked around and saw the humans staring and pointing at him.
Like the other humans near the Obsidian Anchor, their curiosity was greater then their fear. Strange little creatures. The city did not know war, they only know how to stand behind their walls fearing the undead that claw at their walls every single night.
Listen, mortals. In that direction stands a great monument and lies a village full of strong warriors, mortals who know how to protect themselves. They are superior to the others for through Kargath, they are blessed by stone. Hiding behind a wall is not the way to live. It`s a live of fear, a live fitting for vermin, not for humans. Be free of the chains of fear and receive Earth`s blessing.

The Flock and her Wayward Vrother
Aeolus nodded and thought his sister's words over and over again, several thoughts came to him, but he decided that any answers he was going to get were going to be 'birds are better' this and 'everything else is filthy' that.
..but he just couldn't resist once he had thought of a question that he thought would stump her for sure, "Okay then, one last question: Are not the stars above us better than your birds? They float up above this planet with grace and beauty, shedding light so that all may see it and be guided by it. They, by the same reasons your birds are better than humans, are better they themselves than your birds."
The Rocs lifted their wings and Aeolus once again saw the glaring light of the sun. The birds spoke in unison and in perfect harmony
"The stars are of the sky and honored in their beauty and perfection - yet they are not the first. Birds are second born in creation after the animals of the earth - for when the creator made them he realized he robbed them of the freedom of the sky. Birds were the first to be granted that freedom - and the first to be given custody and stewardship of the earth below. The stars shine above us and are certainly beautiful and graceful, but they must given wisdom, bow down to birds."
The flock pointed its wings downwards "Even now below the shadows of birds humans begin to pay them homage. Not worship but respect, statues, imagery, and the lofty ideals of the sky - civility, law and order. They even complete the cycle of nature by giving their dead to the flock, so that the vultures and carrion birds of myself may eat while human may give back to their ever watchful eyes. Even now their lives improve from the vestiges of disorder and chaos into which they were thrown into."
A pigeon landed on Aeolus and spoke singularly "Actually brother i have a question for you. One part of me, a small humming bird heard the phrase chicken coop whispered by your children. A chicken is a bird, unfortunate and pitiful by it's lack of freedom of flight, but a bird nonetheless and I worry about it - what is a chicken coop?"
The Flock at the City of Men
"That I can do after some rest, Urs Ignatus. They will go well with a race I had in mind as my messengers, to be where I cannot, for I move at a slower pace than most."
Nordul froze where he stood, before his head slowly swerved, the thud of his feet shaking the land slightly.
"Something is wrong...My Uncle and Cousin, I must ask to be excused for a moment. Something touches my works in a way most unpleasant. It calls my attention too much to ignore. I shall return, though, and make good on my promise."
With that, Nordul heads off, towards the site of the corruption. Towards the spot he napped, and let the animals of the world burst from within his form.
Nordul regards the mountain, and the ground around it, no life approaching within feet of it even with him so near. An ominous sign.
"Good luck, my son."
He bows his head at the dissipitating cloud, and silently prays he won't come to regret this. Pity the gods lacked some power higher than them to pray to. He headed back to the City, quiet.
As the flock saw the earth god depart, it flew back to the rooks and crannies in the city and oversaw the humans develop their aristocracy and their legal system (invariably intertwined, most judges and lawyers came from aristocratic stock) - bird imagery played an important part in human society - birds were revered in the city, and their images were displayed through statues, paintings, and murals. Aristocratic families took on personal birds as familial marks; there were peacocks, ravens, eagles, swans, doves and the all powerful owls, who were considered the highest and wisest of birds, after all the king of the sky in his library was an Owl.
Additionally bird feeding was considered a noble hobby and most ladies and courtesans of the courts of the city engaged in idyllic walks feeding the birds - trips to the sacred burial fields provided somber reflection on life and death as merchants, nobles, peasants watched the dead devoured by vultures in silent contemplation. Birds provided philosophy and beauty to humans - as well as nobility and order. Without the soft shadows in flight, humanity would be no better than beasts of burden, living in their own filth, they thought - as a Vulture delicately ripped off flesh from bleached bone.

Dinfale considered carefully what he was going to do. "Hm, government has already been given to mankind, if a poor kind of government. They have shelter and various ways to defend themselves from the terrors of the night. The Edema have not yet been gathered, so I must wait for them before making my mark there...perhaps I ought to give a gift of power to mankind. Yes, out of respect towards the Unspoken I shall give a gift of a lesson in how to exert their will upon the world. They shall learn how to bring things to themselves, and to send themselves to the far reaches of the earth; how to make things out of nothing and to call upon the greater beings forbidden from living upon the earth.
Dinfale then stood up and spoke in a voice that could be heard by all of mankind. "Hear me, humans. I am Dinfale, the Visitor. I am the first of the Lords of creation, and I have considered what my brothers and sisters have given to you; they have given gifts of strength and shelter, fins and wings, government and power to destroy the terrors of the night. As I have gazed upon this world I see that you are lacking in understanding of how to exert your will upon this world. Therefore I am today giving to you a partial understanding of that very thing: Conjuration. This power will allow you to summon beings to your aid and to send yourselves to the far reaches of the earth, to make objects out of nothing and to call upon the greater beings forbidden from living upon the earth. In order to grasp this gift you will need great strength of will. In time I am sure that many of you will learn how to use it. I do ask that those who do learn that they would use it for the benefit of everyone, especially the needy. In time I shall give more gifts to mankind, and shall even visit some of you personally. Thank you for listening."
And with that said Dinfale waved his right arm and hand towards the earth. As he waved, pinpricks of light spread out from his hand and flew all over the earth, spreading the knowledge of this gift. Dinfale then sat down again to consider his next action.

The Unspoken rests a moment, regathering his stamina after the long fight
<I know it will be the end, for it is the destiny of Creation to be UNcreated. Indeed, it is for that reason that my name is the Unspoken, for to Speak my name is to cast the Truenaming spell to destroy everything.
The ability is called Truenaming, it works by stating the name of something, be it the Concept or the Target then stating what you want, from a spark to instant Death. Though the more powerful the effect, the greater resistance to completion, hence my lack of using it against Dinfale.
I agree that the Magic of the mortals should be restricted, thus I decree, barring any amendments by you Noble Owl that:
-All Mortals (defined as Non-God) that can reside on the Material Plane permanently is restricted in Magic only to the Word, either Written or Spoken.
-The Unspoken shall preserve and advance the Spoken, with all the responsibilities that entails.
-The Divine Magic previously created will be split into Spoken Divine and Written Divine, both of equal power
-The above applies to Conjuration Magic also, and any subsequent Magical Schools created not explicitly excepted when made.
-No Mortal that can reside on the Material permanently may learn both the Spoken and the Written unless they have mastered their starting type. This is to prevent dabblers and dilettantes having access to the more powerful combinations with so little work.
-Each Mortal with the capability of learning the Spoken at birth (so all of them) holds within them a single piece of the Universal Truename, that of all Creation.>
As he speaks the Horrors he had set down swarm the continent, hunting and slaughtering as they are wont to do, fighting even in the midday sun, something not available to his child's creations.
Even as they do however, several dozen brave travelers find themselves being led to the same place, drawn by a weird feeling and the repeated sound of Waves crashing into the shore.

While the Flock with her brother was waiting for a response, the Flock that had taken a roost near the city of man looked upward, and in a great flurry of wings and feathers took flight - men looked up and saw the birds in flight and sighed at the beauty of it. Perhaps to them it was an omen to things to come - for the birds... this is why they were given the sky, for everlasting freedom. There were other skies out there. The Flock flew through the great divides which separate this world and the next to the lantern filled, jade and marble green sky of the Endless city. And the Flock breathed life, till the first inhabitants of the Endless city were the birds, that called the gargoyles, and rooftops home. Just like in the waking material world, Birds were the lords of the city - their songs filled the air. Pigeons and Hawks and Peacocks.
The Flock then took flight once more, leaving the birds to the emerald sky of the Endless City and traveled to the world of the King of the Earth: a lonely expanse of nothing but earth and air. An honest sky. The Flock flew to the lone mountain spire in the epicenter of the world and populated it's singular heights. Even here the birds screeched and flew up and down, great eagles and small wrens. And here the Flock spread it's eggs - leaving birds to live on the lonely mountain and those poor unfortunate birds who are no less worthy, but robbed of their flight: the ostrich, emu, cassowary, rhea, and kiwi. And then the Flock took flight to other skies, colder but no less beautiful.
And into the winter domain of Aurora, the flock flew, only winter birds within its numbers: the cardinal, tufted titmouse, bluejay, chickadee, white-breasted nuthatch, and wren. Woodpeckers, doves, sparrows, juncos, Grosbeaks, finches and starlings. All ruled by the great white owls. These winter birds would live among the first two layers of Aurora - beautiful white landscapes against crystal clear or monotone white skies.
And steadily the Flock grew - as songs of birds and their equivalent cries filled all the skies of all the worlds.

Infernique stirred for the first time in days. "My, that was a nice nap. Though I must not take too much liking to them, else I may become the god of laziness, ha! Back to business though." He says to himself with a sigh. The only reason why he would wake is if Norx had finally gotten close to the city and that it was time for him to roll the welcoming mat for the group. "And so the preparations for the first show have been completed, and it is finally curtain rise!" Infernique yells in the air with glee in his voice as he vanishes...
...And reappears a few miles over a budding human city, one that no god has claimed yet. Infernique reaches his hand towards the city from the height and points a finger at a person that was near the center of the city. "Gotcha!~" He yells out as he jabs his finger forward, as if to poke the man down in the city. Of course he could not have from his height, but the effects were the same either way: The man got a acute case of a sickness, something along the lines of a cold but with more...bite to it. "And you, and you, and even you too!~" Infernique yells as he jabs his finger towards another person, than another and yet another. But the people he infected after the first did not yet show signs of sickness, but did suddenly have a idea spring into their heads; Trade.
And so, with the first caravans starting to head out and with Norx's group just a few days away, Infernique was quite pleased with his work. "Now to set up my base of operations. Every true god needs one, in my opinion at least. Especially with that divine decree out there, guh." And with that, Infernique sets off, to make his own domain in this world. First, he appears inside of Norx's conscious but expands it, setting down a tile floor the color of pure darkness, placing walls of blue, red, gold- every color of the rainbow it seemed, and to top it all off; a pure white roof. On the floor plays the sweetest dreams of the owner's conscious, on the walls play the weirdest dreams, while the roof shows the deepest nightmares that the person has experienced. In this room, Infernique places three chairs, set in a triangle and facing each other, and a single door, simple and functional yet with a forbidding air about it.
Infernique then heads out to the mountain of bones, in the valley where no plants grew and no life dared wondered, and landed upon the topmost skull. Infernique raises a foot before bringing it down upon the skull again, creating a hollow sounding ring across the valley. And in response to the ring, the bones under him begin to move, spreading out along the valley before connecting with each other, growing where they needed to and molding to fit into the contours of one another. The end result was a fortress of white, a grand building of gleaming towers and shining walls. "Now this is what I call a base of operations! Well, the start of one at least." Infernique says to himself in a merry tone before disappearing once again. Inside of the Bone fortress, behind a plain looking door, expanded a large realm of grasslands and trees, and in that center of the realm was a identical copy of the Bone Fortress but on a grander scale.
//Norx saw the city that his Lord had directed him too. "Followers of the Lord, prepare yourselves. Our Lord's plans are about to begin, and we are a key part of them. Steel yourselves for what is about to come, for we will bring our Lord's power into the eyes of lesser men! We shall show them the way to gain power by following our Lord! And we shall begin the reign of Lord Corrupter!" Norx yells at the assembled group, who looked upon him with awe in their eyes. Then, according to plans that were drawn days ago, three Broodlings broke off from the group, and commanding the twenty-three Blood Golems around them, started off in a different direction from the main group. Norx and his remaining followers headed towards the city while black robes literally grew out of their skin and around them.

The Flock and her Wayward Brother
Aeolus hmms and thinks about Suloea's answer to his question, "There's so many ways I could argue against what you just said, but I'm not going to because then we, well at least I and my Aeolians, would be stuck here forever. So I'm just going to stick with the answer 'birds are better than everything else because I said so'.
So instead I'll just answer your question about chicken coops!
A chicken coop is a small building made to keep chickens safe from the elements and various wild predatory animals, like Griffons! Well, when Griffons get made that is.
Anyways, without chicken coops chickens wouldn't survive because of their status as domestic animals. Which means that if humans didn't take care of chickens, the poor birds would be left out in the cold and eaten by Griffons.
Humans also don't build chicken coops just to provide a home for the chickens, otherwise there'd be no point to keeping chickens.
The humans take the chicken's eggs, crack the eggs open, cook the egg whites and yolks, and then eat it. Pretty sure it's a good meal, also speaking of good meals, when a chicken gets too old to lay eggs they butcher the chicken, cook it, and eat it. Some humans actually raise chickens for just that purpose, to eat them.
At this point though I think the best humans at it only raise enough chickens to butcher... say two-to-four of them every week so they can keep a stable population of chickens. They do that with a lot of domesticated animals actually! Cows, goats, sheep, pigs, dogs, horses, rodents, and sometimes even cats. No idea why a human would want to eat a cat though, it'd be like almost eating another human. Chickens though are yummy!"

Dinfale heard a whisper at the edge of his consciousness, almost as if someone was calling to him. However, being young, he chose to ignore it. Instead he turned his eyes towards the Edema, those wandering humans that had gathered together near the shores of the sea. Stepping through space, Dinfale appeared among the humans. He noticed they fell to their feet in awe of him.
"Rise, my friends. I may be a lord of creation, however, you are the inheritors of the earth. I am Dinfale, king of the earth and Visitor to humans and lords alike. I have come to give you another gift. You may remember that I gave all humans conjuration. However, what mankind can do is not as important as mankind knowing what he should do and why he should do it. Therefore, I am going to teach you all what is right and wrong. I have several other gifts to give you in time. But for now I would ask that you would listen."
And so Dinfale tought the Edema about morality; how mankind should treat their neighbors as they would be treated; how sin was destructive; and how doing good was productive.

The Golden Throne-Tarvin
As Tarvin gazed upon the world from his shining throne, he observed humanity, their rituals and rites, and the homage they paid to the birds. Their reverence for the winged beasts puzzled Tarvin, for out of all the beings in creation, it was the form of man that was most pleasing. For Tarvin did make his form as their own perfected, and thus it was their form which was most beautiful in all the cosmos. Why then would they place these feathered creatures above themselves in holiness? Could they not see that true exaltation lay in fufilling themselves? After all, no deity would do any less. No god would place the mortals before themselves, so why should the mortals place anything before themselves?
These thoughts consumed Tarvin, sitting upon his golden throne, watching the world below him turn. So it was that Tarvin departed his throne for a time (though he left his right eye to sit on the throne in his place, that he might not be deprived of his all-encompassing sight) and travelled among the mortals, to spread a new philosophy.
The Fickle King shrouded his beauty in a cloak of man's flesh, for he knew that to look upon his most divine beauty would spell death for such as them. Still, his perfection did show, for even beneath a layer of dirt and grime, a fair gem might still sparkle and shine. So it was that Tarvin appeared as a man, with fiery hair and dressed in finely woven silk, a crown of purest gold inlaid with all manner of precious gems upon his head. So adorned, Tarvin walked through the streets of the City of Man, and spoke to the people therein.
And the people of the city told him of many things, of their laws and traditions, of their nobles and kings, of the veneration of the winged ones and of the bonds to which the people were held. Tarvin did shake his head in bemusement, that the mortal would allow themselves to be entrapped so, and by their own will as well. So, he preached a different way.
He spoke in the bars, and in the market places, and in the alleys. He spoke to poor and rich alike, though somehow it was the poor that listen to him most intently. Never did Tarvin speak with anger, but always with lightness and geniality, even as he tore the metaphorical tablecloth of logic out from under the laws and traditions laid down by his sister Suolea, who was any bird which flew in the sky.
Now, not many paid heed to Tarvin's words. Most regarded him as some loony noble-harmless enough, but no one to pay attention to. Yet some listened to the philosophy Tarvin spoke of, and it struck a cord in their souls. It was a philosophy of self-worth, of selfishness. It was a philosophy of hard work, of hard pleasure. It was a philosophy which said "You are all that matters, and if you fall, then it is because you are not strong enough."
Nobles called it hedonism. The poor called it capitalism.
His work done, Tarvin decided to quit the City for some time, and began wandering through the world's forests. A new source of inspiration was needed for his work.
As it happens, a giant turtle made of soil, rocks, and trees, speaking with a pirate, a giant man made of black rock, and another giant made apparently made from a city can be pretty powerful inspiration. Tarvin started as he walked in on the strange meeting, and chose to not respond until one of them acknowledged him. They were odd, to say the least.
Missed two Rollovers, bringing my AP to 12.
-1 AP: Create Mundane Concept-Hedonism
A philosophy amongst mortals which states that experience is the ultimate goal of life, and that the purpose thereof is to experience as much of it as possible. This typically leads to a person having little regard for rules and traditions, and focusing soley on their own pleasure, though seeking out pain has also been known. Hedonism is particularly popular amongst the noble population of humanity, who have the means to pursue it.
-1 AP: Create Mundane Concept-Capitalism
A philosophy and economic system amongst mortals, this is free market, laissez-faire style thinking. Pull yourself by the straps of your own boots, dog-eats-dog, success is due to hard work and nothing else. Natural selection applied to the worth of a man and economic power. Favored a great deal by the lower classes, who at this point have elements who aren't too happy with the idea of "noble privilege".
Note that, for now at least, the concepts are not widespread, and exist among the...shall we say, more extreme elements of society.

As he spoke, three seeds, unseen in mortal eyes, take flight from him, and grow in the minds of all sentient beings. Knowledge of what herbs to use to heal, and how to set and clean wounds became clear. Inspiration of new ways to grow food, and lay crops in such a way as to not destroy the soil. Owl nodded, and the Word was so. And then she left, and returned to her tower.
Owl passed the time in her own private study--some great aviary atop the highest tower in the Great Library. Tall arches opened widely to the horizon and the city below, the stink of civilization fouling the wind. Ugly smoke billowing from the forges, an acrid waste of tanning, ripe bodies exposed for their final resting place in the gullet of ravens, the great stink of human excrement. She did not seem to mind.
TAB At times came the rain and the storms. Wind whipped through its exposed perch, scattering the parchments it collected and examined. In the morning, she would simply collect the scraped remains and organize them again. Knowledge was never really lost, only discollected and regathered again. It did not seem to mind.
TAB Her children, the stars, would sometimes come to visit. They gathered in small groups, inspecting Owl's dissertations without real interest, and they sometimes flocked in large groups and mingled among one another. They assumed the shapes of man and gossiped regularly with the members of the Circle in the halls below. And sometimes, they let slip the word of the god's own creation, but it did not mind.
TAB After all, that had been its plans, largely. It developed the ways, and satisfied, let his stars dissect the methods. They made games of it, and spread word among the humans which came to learn. Owl bestowed them power, and power came to them. But what of this power?
TAB Let us speak first of the beginning, and then move onwards. First came the beginning, and then everything else followed. In the beginning there was creation, and so it only seemed suitable that among the first to rise, came the powers of creation.
TAB The first was the raw powers of creation, represented in the form of the elements which compose the natural world. Those who studied in the schools of Elemental practice could summon fires, move the earth, and purify water. Some could aid a plant's growth in the winter, or help to prepare an ore for being smelted.
TAB Second to the exotic Elementalism came the more base, more utilitarian schools of Fabrication. These were those who could compose raw materials, bringing them from some unknown place. Granted, there was no equal to true craftsmanship in a hastily conjured bowl or wooden spoon, but most of those who found themselves Fabricators, were also artisans, using their new found magic only to aid in their trades.
Owl's AP = 8. (7) + (4, Refresh; 24.11.2012) + (2, Pantheon) - (3, Cosmic Decree; The Word) - (1, Create Magical Concept; Elementalism) - (1, Create Magical Concept; Fabrication).

Slovien recognized that the day of his creation was coming up and decided that all mortals should be aware of what day it is. He fed into their minds that to day would be the Hallowed Day, a day to celebrate fear itself. Once he put it into their minds that one day could be special they had it in their heads that other days could be special as well, but no matter. The day to celebrate fear is all that matters for now.
In addition to this day to celebrate fear Slovien will teach these mortals the usefulness of fear. Fear can be spread to make your point, demoralize your enemies, or intimidate others into getting what you want. And so the god of Fear taught the humans the art of Terrorism.
Slovien then gathered those that had a strong desire or talent for this art and gave to them masks to spread fear and hide their identities as they spread fear. This terrorist group, called only the Masks, would spread fear for the sake of fear. Every year on the Hollowed Day the Masks would create a create spectacle of fear that the whole of Earth and Sky can not help but take notice.

The prodigal Owl watched above, carefully....
TAB Thamil raised again the hammer above his head. One smooth motion up and down and then the molten ingot exploded in a furious shower of lightning and sparks. Repeat. Slowly the lump of metal shaped into the thin, delicate petals of a rose. Exquisite. Thamil dunked the rose into a bucket of water, and after it no longer hissed, presented it to the noble waiting at his market stall. "Another fine specimen, Embersmith," and the noble turns over a handful of coins. Thamil nods his thanks.
TAB At the day's end, Thamil made the long walk through the city's winding roads. Cobblestones clicked under his boots, the wangs and pangs and slooshes and switches and swatches of every artisan filled his ears as he walked through the merchant's district. The houses here, rough stone bases and wooden posts, tops of wood and white stucco, red-clay shingles. The sun began to set, and in dusk, each merchant and artisan began to shuffle home. The panes of glass filled with soft candlelight as he walked by.
TAB Thamil passed the industrial park, a section of town full of tall iron towers. Even in the night they did not stop seeping grey smoke--now red and pink in the twilight. Great furnaces burned, powering machinery, great wheels and cogs to unknown ends. Cutting logs, smelting ores, processing leather. He knew more about each machine than its actual purpose, having helped build each years before. He passed into the heart of the city.
TAB Here a great tower stood, lofty arches brushing the grace of heaven itself. Once it gleamed white, but the industry's coal fires stained everything with soot. Somehow, the blanched grey of the towers buttresses did little to distract from the architecture's underlying purpose. This place was made by a god. He swung open a wooden door, not the great iron gates on the building's face for they were too heavy to move alone, but a side door for the coming and going of everyday people. The gates stayed closed except for great ceremony or dire emergency.
TAB Thamil walked the halls, two rights and then a left. He found his office surrounded by waiting scholars. At first he thought them maybe students, but a second glance and he saw higher ranking individuals. "What is the nature of this?" he inquired. Dozens of eager eyes stared him down.
TAB A woman named Sricha stepped forward. A council chair, the Head of Teleportation. "Thamil Embersmith," she said gravely, "Master Amberforge has... passed away." She nearly choked on the words. "You have been elected by the council to fill his position. Welcome, Master Embersmith."
A little exposition into the Circle Parliament, and the plots to come.

Aeolus shrugs, "Well when you put it like that of course it sounds terrible, but is it no less terrible when your birds prey upon one another? Or perhaps when a Cuckoo pushes the eggs out of another bird's nest and lays her own in their place?
Chickens lay more eggs than will ever hatch, are very dumb, and are actually made to be used by humans in the first place.
You're pretty much the only one that even cares about the welfare of chickens anyways. You can't even argue that "all birds are made equal" when they obviously aren't.
And if birds fed on human babies, humans would start hunting down birds and killing them. Chickens are utterly incapable of doing that, they don't even notice that they're eggs are being taken anyways. All they care about is getting fed and having a home and humans provide both, and why can't humans take payment? It's not like humans will feel inclined to take care of dumb birds that can't even take care of themselves if they don't benefit from it after all. As long as chickens fall into the category of Domestic Animals, meaning animals raised, bred, and sometimes butchered for the use of humans, it will stay that way.

The ceremony was a quiet affair. Not a dry eye in the house. Except maybe for me, thought Thamil hastily. I'm the one getting ahead now, a thought he almost instantly regretted. To be truthful, his head was swimming with many thoughts, and the death of his previous master felt numb and empty.
TAB The priest took a little drink from a jug before walking up the wooden platform. A long edged knife in his hand. Thamil tried not to wince. Thwack, the dull wet sound of meat against metal. Crack, the severing of sinews and bones. Looking away was a weakness, Thamil felt weak. Sricha next to him stood tall and resolute. She did not look down. Thamil felt only slightly ashamed. A hundred birds flew, screaming.
TAB Afterward, the coronation. Not that he had a crown really, but just a formality to go through the motions. His head still felt as if underwater. Tsambi, Head of Holy Magic and the Council leader, delivered him his rights and oaths as a council chair and new Head of Fabrication. Thamil dully repeated the lines fed to him.

Simply remember that you still live in the skies, whether you rule them along with the birds, or beneath their shadows. As such I will still expect civility."

The Flock in Aurora.
As it was, the convocation of feathers, the Flock, flew in the skies of most of the realms of existence. They especially enjoyed the skies of Aurora. The winter dominium was a place of final rest, the sky was crystal clear - a slight chill in the air, that was enjoyed by the eternal parliament of owls. On the first layer of the plane - that which was like heaven for souls that were judged worthy and good - there existed a place that would be known as the Brumal Hollow.
This was the home of Owls, horned, screeching, wise or ominous. It was a silent place - not necessarily bleached of the happiness of the rest of the wintery heaven, but much more solemn. The hoots of the parliament were always grave. The souls treated the place with respect. As in life, souls looked as birds as sacred animals - justified that birds alone out of all the animals in the waking world shared the afterlife with them.
The Flock looked outward from the Brumal Hollow and judged the souls that were found to be worthy for reasons, not entirely of her understanding, yet the civility they showed was appropriate. Perhaps in the future - a soul may come to the hollow to beg an audience of the Flock and with proper curtsies may receive what they seek.
AP 2
Alter Land: Create the Brumal Hollow. A large grove of trees, that exists on the first layer of the wintery domain, all dead and hollowed out, provide a natural home for all the Owls that live in Aurora. Other birds venture there as well. On this plane the Owls do not need to hunt or eat since this plane only houses birds and souls. Perhaps in the future - a soul may come to the hollow to beg an audience of the Flock and with proper curtsies may receive what they seek.

The deep rooms below a city above. Cloistered and secluded dens full of dust and bound books. Perhaps a fire crackling warmly in the corner to drive the chill of darkness. The faintly sweet smell of vanilla from decomposing paper. A deep-throated tang of leather covers. The iron claps leaving a fine tingling over the tip of your tongue and your front teeth. Owl is here, too.
TAB The faint flick of a feathered quill scratching over a length of sheepskin parchment. Scratching ink into confined forms. The lines of fluid black grow wings, take to the skies and the airs. Could a form ever be so pure as to imitate the heavenly flocks? Letters once for utility and purpose expose themselves into heavenly forms, lovely caricatures, illuminated manuscripts. Owl is here, watching, and she is pleased.
TAB An open rotunda of a room, all stone bricks and cracking emberlight. The burning ash and smoke fills the back of your throat. Your eyes water at the sting, dry from the impressive heat. A massive bellow breathes slowly, fanning the charcoal hotter. A hammer clangs impressively, skillfully, thunder and lightning casting new shapes and forms. A chisel carves delicate curves. Owl is here, too.
TAB The casts are arranged, spaced with bits of lead. Wooden bars to set height between the rows of small figures. Ink, blacker than night, is washed over the forms, pressed against the surface of paper. No, too faint. Paper is pressed against the wet-inked surface, weighted and pressed into its surface. Yes, this is better. Repeat. Owl is here, watching, and he is pleased.

A bird of prey doesn't care about having to eat another bird to live, it just eats the other bird. So why should a human care if it eats a bird? They're clearly superior to birds, barring your giant Rocs, because they can and sometimes do hunt and use them with impunity. They're also way smarter and imaginative than any of your birds could ever be, barring you directly intervening on the behalf of birds."

Speaking of humans, I've probably even made the density of my Aeolians' lesser than that of humanity's destiny by linking them to myself, but at the same time I've improved my lot in creation. I do care for them like a father does. I also have the choice of not giving a damn about them either, because then I would've sent them back to their former families and watch the show from afar, not gotten them all set up with your school thing. Though the realm still torments them just as much as it always had the sinners began to become aware of their actual surroundings and not just the illusions of their past cast by Aurora.
Their punishment has filled them with a fear of Aurora and the gods, but also a jealousy and hatred for those who have not suffered in the third layer. Dinfale continued his lessons with the Edema Ruh.
"In this world there are many things that can be acquired by mankind. Magic in many forms allowing mankind to enforce his will upon the world. Cities can be built, kingdoms forged, empires established, different physical forms acquired; however, in the end, every man and woman will at some point die. After that you are judged by Vintra, the goddess of death. I do not know exactly how she judges, but I do know that your actions do affect her judgement. Therefore, since mankind's physical form is mortal, and his soul eternal, I tell you that choosing what is right, even if it is at the cost of your own life, is better than what is expedient. Choosing to live with the end goal of being judged as a good person is far better than living your short lives for yourselves. As such, I wish to teach you of two virtues which I hold dear in my heart: generosity and hospitality. Being willing to give your time, effort, love, money, and possessions to others is a good thing. In time, if you follow this idea, you will find yourselves with many friends that will aid you in your time of need. In addition to this I wish to teach you of all the rules of hospitality. Let it never be said of the Edema Ruh that anyone else knows how to be more hospitable than the Edema. Despite your wandering nature, you shall know how to accept the stranger into your folds, for you are not a group of people by blood, but by spirit; not by portions of land, but by ideals and a brotherhood that goes beyond shallow relationships. Those that wish to join you in truth and without guile, let them." And so Dinfale taught the Edema all of the rules of hospitality.
"As an additional help to you, I give you this gift: music. These wonderful sounds will awe kings and peasants alike and will win you favor without requiring a greater effort of enforcing your will upon the world. Also, I would have you travel the whole earth teaching others what I have taught you. In time, I may have you return here to learn from me again. Finally, do not revile those that curse you for being of low birth. Return evil with good, for if you do so your reward is eternal and cannot be taken from you. These things do I, Dinfale, teach you, the Edema Ruh."
And with that said Dinfale turned to wander the earth again, seeking new knowledge and sights.

The Flock and Dinfale
In time, as Dinfale journeyed and wandered throughout the world, he would have noticed shadows from above. Birds would chirp and screech, and in their eyes he would see Suloea, the Convocation of Feathers, the Flock. When the shadows have gathered, and blocked out the sun in an orchestra of falling feathers, a couple of birds descended. A Crested Ibis; a Red-crowned Crane; and a Spatuletail, rare sights indeed. The three birds flew downwards to rest around the traveling king, and they looked at him quizzically. Then they spoke in a sweet sing song voice.
"We overheard your preachings of the Edema Ruh. We concur - the animals of the earth need civility and guidance before they descend to savagery. We have already noticed the needless waste of their atrocious murders of our followers. Unfortunately we have made a nest within the domain of Vintra, our older sibling; and we regret to inform you, but she has perished. We however believe that the afterlife will have to be maintained for fear that human souls would be reduced to incivility. With your blessing, we shall inherit Vintra's role in guidance and judgement with your Edema Ruh as the basis of our assessment."

"So, the first lord to sleep has already done so...that is most grave news, especially since it was Vintra. Her words still ring in my ears. I had hoped to meet her in person, though I was occupied by other necessities. Hmmm, well, even my Edema are not perfect. In time I fear that even they may not be able to follow the rules of true morality perfectly....This is something I may need time to dwell upon. In truth I do not believe that I alone hold the authority to say yay or nay on this prospect. I believe that a greater meeting of all the lords interested in this should be held. My domain is but a step away, and within it is a meeting place that can be used for all of us without any fear of disputes causing immediate physical repercussions upon the material realm. The Crested Ibis, Red-crowned Crane and Spatuletail, looked at the traveling lord quizzically and slightly bemused. They lifted their wings as a small ostentation of peacocks fluttered down and encased the earth god in beauty. They spoke in a commanding voice.
"You misunderstand us. We will take over the duties of our older sister - not only must it be done, but it is our inheritance, other lords play no part in the decision, for they were not of her lineage save our great feathered Father. Fear not; your teachings are worthy and mortal men shall be judge by them - and since we see through the eyes of all things that fly, we look down from the sky and witness each waking moment of a man's life. We may judge them by what they do as well as what they are."
And thus it came to pass that the men would pass before the Flock after death, and the convocation would decide where their final nest would lie. Although it gave those found worthy a choice: eternal rest in winter or the freedom of flight and the chance to look down at their once families and cover them with shade, the chance to be reborn as a bird.

The Flock, The Mistress of Death
The Ostentation of Peacocks looked at the new lord, and knew him, for the Flock saw everything that occurred upon the waking world, only the waves of the sea and the stone and wood of the earth and home obscured her vision and knowledge. They spoke in concert.
"The sinners deserve nothing, and are beneath our notice - we only concern ourselves with those deemed worthy, those who have a chance at true life - with air beneath their wings and their shadows cast over anything they desire - within the harmony of nature and the civility of nobility. Thus we extended to the Lord of the Earth the ability to fashion within our inherited wintery domain any afterlife he desires for those he looks upon fondly. The same offer applies to each Lord, including you. We only concern ourselves with the selection process. If you wish to craft a domain within the far reaches of our inherited realm where the flock will not fly and we cannot see, we accede to your request. They are beyond redemption and notice. Aeolus groaned and rubbed his forehead with his talon-tips. "So you're going to deny chickens their purpose in life just because they're birds and by that virtue deserve better in life than being used for the only thing they're good for? Ugh. Know what, I'll make them not birds anymore, how about that."
Aeolus raised a talon and suddenly chickens all around creation began to change. They began to sprout lizard tails and their talons sharpened a bit as their wings turned all leathery (they still can't fly though). They still laid eggs non-stop and their meat became even more tasty.
"There, they're not birds anymore. I can respect all your other birds, they at least have a purpose of sorts higher than chickens would ever have. Pollinating, hunting pests, looking pretty, even just being a part of their ecosystem; but chickens were just completely useless in expect to be eaten and used so I've removed them from the category of birds.
I've been waiting for you to do something about the chicken situation this entire time, even hinted about it, but you didn't do anything about it. So I did. Chickens were going to all go extinct anyways if something wasn't done about their situation anyways as you started send mortals to purgatory or whatever for eating them, meaning that no one would even bother to take care of chickens anyways. They really didn't even deserve to be birds in the first place if you look at their sole purpose in life. Now then, let's freaking go already. We can talk about it later in detail if you want, I'll even replace them with a better bird if that'll make you happy, but right now let's not keep my children waiting any longer."
He pushes his way out of the the middle of the Flock and motions to his Aeolians cheerily. "Okay kids it's finally time to go! Follow the birds!" They cheer and fly after the birds as Aeolus leads them to the Feathered Throne.

Dinfale frowned at what slovien and the flock had to say. "Well, I suppose someone has to take over judgement duty. If you truly are judging them based upon the ideals that I have taught to the Edema, then I have no problem with it." Then turning to Slovien Dinfale spoke. "You, however, would pervert the divine will that Vintra gave to us. It is true that part of that divine will would be that only she could be the judge of the dead. However, it is a station that needs to be filled. The dead cannot simply remain unjudged. Your proposal, however, is completely unnecessary. The dead do not need any more than their sins to punish them. I must warn you that I will oppose you on this front. And with that said Dinfale took a step backwards while growing in strength and his will hardening.

Just so you know, Lizard lord, I am not necessarily extremely opposed to what you are proposing. However, if you do it then there is practically only one thing left of what Kaworu did with his cosmic decree. That's a bit too close to completely subverting a cosmic decree for my comfort. And while that wouldn't normally be a problem in a LoC game, in this one Bryn has specifically said that you cannot completely change someone else's cosmic decree. That's the biggest reason why Dinfale is opposing Slovien, just so you know.

Slovien cackled with glee. "Alright, I will meet with you uncle Dinfale. However, I have one condition."
The lord of fear turned towards the Great Flock. "Cousin I would like you to send part of the flock to this meeting. You are the judge of the dead and as such matters discussing the dead are related to your duties. You should have a an opinion in the matter. Trust me, you will want to hear what I have to say."

The Flock, The Mistress of Death
The Ostentation of Peacocks subsided and all that was left was a murder of crows. The Flock began to fly and disperse and announced:
"Worry not, where ever the eyes of hawks and eagles see, as do I. The world of the Earth king's sole population are birds and plants, I see all that occurs underneath its skies. Regardless I shall merely be the judge, what occurs to the souls after they have been organized matters little to me, other than the chance for a lowly human to ascend to the skies as a raven or a dove."

"Ah, but the purpose of your judgement is to make sure the noble are rewarded and the wicked punished, is it not? Perhaps the realm does a good enough job on its own, but what if I told you there will be those that are sent to the 3rd layer but feel no punishment?"
"Ah but I should save these arguments for our uncle."
With that Slovien will vanish, swallowed by his own cloak, to reappear in Dinfale's world. He looks up to see birds above him and the mask smiles before turning to face Dinfale. "Greetings uncle, shall we begin?"

Dinfale nodded. "Indeed. There is something I would like to point out to you, though. The nature of the plane that Vintra made is one where the mortal souls occupying the third layer WOULD be tortured. I find it incredibly difficult to believe that a power as great as Vintra's could be circumvented by anything less than her own. And as amazing as mankind is, they have not yet reached to our potential. Therefore, I will cut to the chase: prove to me that there is in fact even one mortal that is not tormented by the third layer and I will concede this point." He then held his peace while waiting for Slovien to form his answer.

"Perhaps not yet. It depends on whether or not the new judge of the dead has already begun his duties. Tell me Uncle, do you know how the third layer tortures its victims?"
