These are things that aren't improved with jovial upscaling.

To be fair, SD did say 'word' rather than 'concepts'. I was thinking Giant Novelty Child's Limb that was Blown Off by a Land Mine... but I realized that wasn't quite in the spirit of things.

'Nor do I really think it would be helped by Bacon and Cheese, but I guess that depends on how fresh it is.

Well, the answer, having been clearly demonstrated by the above posts, seems to be 'yes'.

Also, the Whale Carcass line made me spray tea over my monitor.

I was thinking the same thing with Giant Novelty Planet. But then I realized that either an actual giant, novelty planet or a planet of giant novelties would both be pretty fun.

There are a lot of people here focusing on the word "giant" and ignoring the word "novelty". A novelty child's-limb-blown-off-by-a-landmine would be a fake rubber bloodied limb for playing pranks with. A giant novelty child's-limb-blown-off-by-a-landmine would be a giant one of those.

That might be awful in a "this prank sucks, no one will be fooled by this ludicrously-oversized appendage"-kind of way, but it's hardly all that heinous in any real sense. :smalltongue:

Yes, I thought this also. I think the OP has a point. Even the most tasteless things, although not exactly great in their own right, would still be improved by being a giant novelty version.

There are perhaps some things that aren't improved in the same way, though, like fire extinguishers. But at least the giant novelty extinguisher isn't boring, like a regular one.

The bacon would probably be made out of gummy meat, and the quiche would taste like chicken.

You miss the point. If I have gangrene that's bad. I feel unhappy. Someone gives me bacon and cheese. I feel better (Not completely well, but I would feel better to some extent). Therefore bacon and cheese improves it. Ipso facto bacon and cheese makes everything better.

Just maybe, if you have cheese product (not real cheese but pretty similar) and beef bacon (beef is awesome and I support its use as fake bacon) or turkey bacon (though I do wish the turkey would just be himself) or even veggie bacon (a blasphemy against all meat products).
