My girlfriend is a big fan of flatland, and her birthday is coming up. I really want to get her something flatland related, but the best I've been able to find was a rather boring-looking poster on ThinkGeek. Do you guys know of any sites that sell Flatland merchandise? Plushies and the like would be particularly preferred.

Ha-ha.

Any more serious answers? It's getting later in the season, and shipping times are eventually going to be a bottleneck.

Well there's this (http://shop.cafepress.co.uk/flatland) stuff ?
But it might not be what you are looking for.

Yeah, the issue is that basically all of that is for some BMX style called Flatland, rather than Edwin A Abbot's classic tale.

Yeah — I thought it looked wrong.

I think that you might be out of luck — at least until Disney make the movie or something — it's just not mainstream enough.

It is a great book though.

This looks like something you'd want to look into. (http://postertext.com/classical-literature/edwin-a.-abbott/flatland-a-romance-of-many-dimensions) Unless it's the same poster. I don't think you're likely to find much in the way of other merchandise.

I looked but couldn't find anything.

Maybe find her a limited edition of the book?

Flatland Plushies... I can sell you a square of white cloth, or a sphere...

Unfortunately I don't think the book or film are popular enough. You can get a first edition for around £400, but that is probably a bit on the expensive side.

There's a Flatland computer game here (http://www.seethroughstudios.com/) - no idea if it's any good.

There's also a Flatland RPG by Marcus Rowland here (http://www.forgottenfutures.co.uk/album/flatl_sampler.pdf) which looks rather entertaining - Marcus Rowland (for those who haven't come across him before) is a venerable RPG author. Amongst other things, he is responsible for Diana, Warrior Princess and the Forgotten Futures RPGs.

Sorry - I digressed. The final option would be Flatterland - a second visit to Flatland, exploring the mathematical themes of the original. I found it on Amazon UK here (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Flatterland-Like-Flatland-Only-More/dp/073820675X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1355611523&sr=8-1).
