EMISSARY OF AZI DAHAKA
Hit Dice: 7+7 (42 hp)
Armor Class: 1 [18]
Attacks: Sting (2d6 + venom) and Venom Ray (see text)
Saving Throw: 8
Special: Searing Venom
Move: 12
Alignment: Chaos
Challenge Level/XP: 8/800
Azi Dahaka is the demon prince of the searing desert. His deranged followers engage in days-long rituals involving drugs, dehydration, and black magic in order to be closer to their vile god. Sometimes, Azi Dahaka will send a particularly devoted group of followers a great demonic beast to fight alongside them and further their cause of destruction, suffering, and thirst.
Emissaries of Azi Dahaka resemble gigantic scorpions with black shells, inscribed with unholy symbols. They are searing hot to the touch, are wickedly intelligent, and utterly evil.
Those stung by an emissary must make a saving throw. On a failure, they are overcome by burning pain and thirst, take an additional 1d8 damage, and take 1 point of Constitution damage that is cured when they drink at least a galon of water.
An emissary can also shoot a beam of venom up to sixty feet, as a normal attack. One who is hit by it is afflicted by the poison, but not considered stung.
