Hey guys, I'm a rubbish artist, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any easy to use, free programs that were aimed at creating printable maps for D&D campaigns. I'm not talking a dungeon creator or anything, I just need to be able to make a world that looks more creative than I can accomplish on my own.

the easiest method, of course, is a random generator, such as http://donjon.bin.sh/fantasy/world/

otherwise, http://www.hexographer.com/ is a great tool for creating your own hex maps in various styles. free and paid versions available.

That donjon one is VERY awesome, thanks a lot! I wish it were a bit simpler to make modifications, but you can't have everything

Do you know of Hexographer comes with a random generator?

This (http://www.yeoldemapmaker.com/) sounds like exactly what you're looking for. There's no random button, but you can use maps that others have made, and even edit them. It's very simple to use and prints in a really easy and helpful way!

You mean other people don't use the Age of Empires II map editor? I'm all alone....

I'll admit to using Dwarf Fortress to generate geographical maps before. I then re-draw them and place my own ruins, cities, villages, and landmarks.
