Iames frowns. I can't get a clear enough view of your mind to be sure. What I can sense seems fine, but I'm still worried. And I still want to know what that cauldron was for.

Verdandi hugs him. I am sure it will be fine, Iames.

Mmm. Iames doesn't sound entirely convinced, and then he sighs and hugs her again. I'm sorry if I seem distrustful, Vera. This just reminds me far too much of the time Saidnai took Aerin's form and tricked me into sleeping with her.

Verdandi pulls away.

What can I say? I mean, if you and I were apart, out of contact, for a long while, and I suddenly came up to you, said, "I love you, Vera," and started kissing you, would you have any reason to suspect that anything was wrong?

I guess. Verdandi wraps her arms around herself.

I didn't fall for it twice, I can tell you that. Saidnai was the succubus you might remember hearing Aerin and I talk about when we first came here.

Verdandi nods, uncomfortable about the subject.

So, is there anything you feel like doing today?

Verdandi hesitates, then nods. Could we go somewhere that we know well? Yesterday's idea did not turn out so well, I just need comfort now.

Sure. Iames looks at Game, curled up at the foot of the bed. Game?

Game looks up. Chirr? Yes?

When Aerin wakes up, tell her we went to Trog's.

Chirr. Okay. Game curls up again, and Iames looks at Vera. You'll want your sword, I expect. Just in case.

Verdandi nods and picks up her sword. It slips out of her hands once before she buckles it on.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames raises an eyebrow, then goes over to her. Putting an arm around her, he transports them to Trog's.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi runs inside the plane and into the tower. Iames? IAMES?!

[Lord Iames Osari]

Chirrr? Vera? What are you doing back?

[AmberVael]

Verdandi runs to Game and picks him up. Where did Iames go?

[Lord Iames Osari]

Chirrrr. Chrr? You and he just went to Trog's. What's going on?

[AmberVael]

I did not go with him. That was not me. Verdandi runs back out of the tower and through the portal again.

Aerin finishes cleaning the Dojo and collapses on the bed.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames and Vera appear.

Verdandi collapses on the bed in the same manner as Aerin had.

Iames shakes his head and removes their boots, then his own. After that, he lies down between them and goes to sleep.

Game flies out of the portal, into the tower, and rides the teleporter up to the bedroom, where he curls up on the bed.

Verdandi wakes up, yawning but smiling. For a long time she does not move, but then she gets up, gets dressed and armored, and goes out to the portals and to the police station.

Iames wakes up, gets out of bed, dressed, and then opens a gate to Trog's Tavern and steps through.

Iames and Vera appear, locked in a kiss. Iames pulls back with a smile and strokes her cheek.

Verdandi closes her eyes and hums happily.

Iames touches her armor, teleporting it to one corner, and kisses her again, pulling her down onto the bed with him.

Verdandi smiles a little shyly and wraps her arms and wings around them.

And then the screen goes dark. ((Good night))

Aerin gets up, having joined Vera and Iames sometime in the night, and gets dressed and armed before going down to the sparrng room for more practice.

Verdandi gets up and puts on her armor and sword, then begins to go down the tower when she sees Aerin in the sparring room. Hello Aerin.

Hello, Vera. Aerin is frozen in some kind of pose, a look of focus on her face. She spins, going through a series of strikes, blocks, and leaps that look at once natural and oddly formalized.

Verdandi watches in fascination. This is how you practice?

One of the ways, yes. Aerin turns to look at Vera. It's called a kata, and it's intended to improve muscle memory and reflexes, so when the time comes for a specific block, strike, or dodge, your mind and body will react that much quicker.

Verdandi thinks over the idea. Do most people practice this way?

[Lord Iames Osari]

Most everyone who studies martial arts does. Then you have the people like the holy orders and the soldiers, who look at fighting as a kind of science, and tend to practice in other ways, like sparring, for example.

Verdandi nods slowly. I guess I never really thought about it before.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Martial arts don't discourage sparring, though. I used to spar with Iames all the time. We were pretty evenly matched. She smiles, but then the smile fades. We don't anymore, though. Have you ever had to practice, Vera?

[AmberVael]

Well, no, not really. I used to spar with the other valkyries alot, but I do not think I ever really needed to.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Aerin raises an eyebrow. To be honest, I'm not sure whether to be jealous that you never need to practice to fight as well as you do, or to be proud that I earned my skills the hard way.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi smiles softly. We had to be skilled, we would not have been good servants otherwise.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Oh, I understand the reasoning behind why you were... made that way, but still...

[AmberVael]

Verdandi nods. I understand.

[Lord Iames Osari]

I'm glad you do, Vera. Anything you feel like doing?

Actually, I think I might like to try out this- kata.

Okay, I'll show you one of the basic ones. Let me remember how I adapted it to using a sword... She frowns in concentration.

Verdandi watches with interest.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Aerin closes her eyes and sheathes her sword, then draws it and slashes at an imaginary opponent to her right before turning her head and snapping a side kick at another assailent to her left. Her foot returning to the ground, Aerin raises her sword to a guard position, held horizontally across her body. Her other arm is held vertically, forming a cross with the blade of the sword.

Aerin sidesteps to the left, swinging her sword down and to the right in a move designed to injure a charging opponent's legs. Bring her sword smoothly back to its guard position, Aerin then steps back to the right, this time continuing to the right as her sword swings out at neck level to cut down another imagined foe. Aerin then returns to the center, and the guard position.

After a moment, she tumbles forward and springs to her feet, converting her momentum into a powerful downward swordstroke. Turning her head to look behind her, Vera catches a glimpse of Aerin's eyes - killer's eyes - as the motion of the swordstroke is turned into a backwards elbowstrike at gut level. Aerin steps forward and delivers a backwards kick to the opponent she would have just elbowstriked, if there had been someone there.

After her backwards kick, she tumbles forward again, again turning her momentum into a downward swordstroke as she leaps smoothly to her feet. As her sword snaps back to the horizontal guard position, she lunges to her left, leading not with the blade of her sword, but the point of her elbow. She halts her leftward motion and rebounds to the right, her sword scything out at neck level. After carrying through with the stroke, Aerin steps back to the spot where she came up from her second tumble and returns to the guard stance, with the sword blade and her arm forming the cross. After a moment, Aerin gives her blade a little flick to clear it of imaginary blood and sheathes it, turning to look for Vera's reaction.

Iames wakes up. After taking a bath an putting on clean clothes, he gates into town.

Verdandi jolts out of her trance and goes to the Police Station.

Iames and Vera appear in the bedroom. Aerin is already in bed asleep, with Game curled up by her feet.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi snaps off her armor and sword and sits on the side of the bed for a moment before beginning to undress.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames undresses and gets into bed, and Aerin cuddles up to him in her sleep.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi finishes, slips into bed and soon falls asleep.

Iames falls asleep himself soon after.

Iames wakes up and decides to go into Town. Aerin also gets up and sets up her shrine to Vala. She begins to pray.

Aerin, having finished her prayers, goes back to the sparring room.

Iames appears and gets into bed after undressing. He snuggles up to Vera. Shortly afterwards, Aerin comes up, undresses, and gets into bed herself, trapping Iames between her and Vera.

Verdandi slowly opens her eyes and then closes them again, humming softly to herself.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames wakes up and decides that he rather likes being where he is.

Good morning, Iames.

Aerin stirs, but doesn't wake up just yet.

Verdandi snuggles closer to Iames, still humming.

Iames kisses the top of her head. and holds her close, smiling happily.

I think I will just stay in bed all day. Are you okay with that, Iames? Verdandi smiles sleepily.

I have no objections whatsoever.

Mm. I am going to get lazy around you. Verdandi lays her head on his chest and looks at the ceiling.

We can't have that. Maybe I should make you get up after all. Iames grins, deciding that now is as good a time as any to find out if Vera is ticklish, and starts to tickle her.

Verdandi giggles and pulls away, her wings arching about her.

Iames's grin widens, and he presses his attack, tickling her mercilessly.

Verdandi jumps out of the bed, smiling at him.

Iames smiles up at her, propping himself up on his elbows. I told you I'd get you out of bed, he grins, looking her up and down. You look absolutely lovely.

At the sudden burst of activity, Aerin raises her head. What's going on?

Verdandi blushes and folds her wings around herself.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames smiles fondly at her, and makes room for her on the bed. You can get back in, if you want. He looks over at Aerin. Vera commented that letting her stay in bed all day would make her lazy, so I had to make her get up.

Verdandi very hesitantly folds her wings on her back and gets back into the bed.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Oh.

Game yawns and stretches at the foot of the bed, then starts to wash himself.

Iames puts an arm around Vera and pulls her close to kiss her softly on the lips.

Verdandi returns the kiss and smiles adoringly at Iames.

Aerin smiles and presses herself against Iames's back, her arms going around his lower torso. No kiss for me?

Iames rolls his eyes affectionately. Aerin, we've had years. Give Vera a chance to catch up. But he half turns and gives her a kiss anyway.

Verdandi smiles and flicks Iames's back lightly with a wing.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Aerin returns the kiss and smiles happily.

Turning back, Iames mock-scowls. Oh, wonderful. I'm being flanked, attacked from both sides.

Verdandi scoots right up to Iames and puts her arms around him.

Iames sighs dramatically. And now I've been grappled by both my assailants. Whatever can I do?

Aerin smiles. I can think of a few things. If Vera's okay with them, that is.

Verdandi reddens again. I- okay.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Aerin's smile fades a little. You don't have to, Vera. Don't let us pressure you into it if you don't want to.

I didn't- I mean I guess- well- Verdandi has gotten herself entirely confused now.

Iames waits for her to sort her thoughts out.

Um... Verdandi looks at Iames and Aerin uncertainly.

We mean it, Vera. We don't want to force you into doing anything against your will.

I was- I- Verdandi leans foward and kisses him.

Iames kisses her back. Is this a "yes"? he asks telepathically.

Verdandi nods, relieved that she could get it across somehow.

Iames kisses her neck and lets his hands wander. Then your screen goes dark.

Iames wakes up slowly, with a big smile. He pulls Vera and Aerin closer, then goes back to sleep.

Aerin wakes up and smiles. She kisses Iames, gives Vera a peck on the cheek, and then gets up and starts to get dressed.

As Aerin leaves the bed, Iames wakes up. He looks over at her. Morning, Aerin.

Morning, Iames. Aerin ties her sash around her waist. As much fun as it's been lounging in bed for the past couple days, I really need to get some more practicing done.

Iames makes a face. Practice, practice, practice. Why don't you come into Town today, for a change?

Aerin shakes her head. Okay, I will. But you have to wait for me to finish praying, okay?

Verdandi wakes up and hugs Iames.

Iames nods to Aerin. Sure thing. He hugs Vera back and kisses her. Morning, Vera. How do you feel?

Aerin goes over to her shrine and begins praying, slipping into an almost meditative state.

I am well, Iames.

That's good. Feel up to going into Town today?

[AmberVael]

Verdandi nods and smiles. Mm hm.

Iames smiles back. Good. I've had avatars running around the last couple of days, and it is very difficult to manage by myself. Especially when I have such pleasant distractions here.

Verdandi smiles in agreement. Hmm. I probably should see what Aesa is getting herself into. I doubt it is anything good.

[Lord Iames Osari]

She fought somebody in the Arena. It ended extremely quickly.

[AmberVael]

I have no doubt of that. Verdandi pulls herself out of bed and begins dressing. I know I would not want to face Aesa.

Iames nods. I think even I would find her challenging. He also gets out of bed and goes over to the wardrobe to get dressed, taking the opportunity to give Vera an affectionate pinch as he passes.

Verdandi jumps but smiles at him. Seid is a very powerful thing, if used in its purest form. Also, Aesa is the daughter of a norn, and that means alot to her powers.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Enhances her powers? Or did you mean that in another way? And what is "Seid"? Iames continues dressing, looking at Vera.

[AmberVael]

Enhances. Seid is our... magic. I thought I told you about Galdrar and Seid. Verdandi puts on her breastplate and buckles on her sword.

I remember you talking about Galdrar, but Seid must have slipped from my memory.

Aerin opens her eyes and stands, turning around. Ready.

Oh. Well, in a rough translation, Seid is magic and Galdrar are spells.

Okay, I'm following you so far. Iames takes his special haversack and slings it over his shoulder before putting on his cloak.

Aerin picks up her sword and sticks her gun through her sash.

So, Seid is a 'divine' form of magic that Aesa, and I, actually, use.

Iames nods. I see. And the reason you say 'divine' is because of the way it draws on all the different power sources?

No, I say it because in its true form, only deities and immortals can ever master it. The others do not have the life span, and even most immortals do not have the understanding.

Ah. It sounds exceeding difficult. He looks from Vera to Aerin. The Police Station?

Aerin nods. That's fine with me, Iames. Vera, after the tournament is over, do you think you might be able to teach me some of the art of Seid?

Verdandi thinks about it. I might manage it, but I only know a little of it. Aesa could train someone far better than I could.

Aerin follows suit, taking special care to clean the blade of her sword and her gun.

Iames looks between the two of them. So, what happ-?

Aerin shakes her head and cuts him off.

Not the time, okay. He takes Aerin's gun and begins to clean it for her.

Verdandi drops her sword and armor in the wardrobe and lies down on the bed.

Aerin joins Vera on the bed after putting her sword in the wardrobe.

Iames finishes cleaning their metal equipment to prevent rusting, then undresses and gets into bed between them, giving Vera a kiss as he lies down.

Aerin moves up behind Iames and puts her arms around him before going to sleep.

Game curls up at the foot of the bed.

Verdandi gets up and dressed, putting on her armor and sword in a methodical fashion. She goes through the portal to the police station.

Iames gets up after far too long being asleep, dresses, and goes to the station.

Iames reappears and goes to bed, missing Vera's presence.

Later, Iames gets up, dresses, and teleports away.

Aerin gets up, notes the absence of both Iames and Vera, and sighs. Getting up, she dresses and goes to her shrine.

Her prayers finished, Aerin gets up and goes through the portal to the police station.

Iames carries Vera through the portal, teleports to the bedroom, and lays her down on the bed, undressing her and pulling the blankets over her. He kisses her gently, then disappears.

Verdandi wakes up with a smile and gets dressed and armored. She picks up her sword and buckles it on, then goes through the portal to the police station.

Verdandi takes his hand and pulls back from him.

Iames squeezes her hand and steps through the portal to Tyrath.

Iames and Vera return via the portal in the gazebo, and Iames teleports them to the bedroom, where they undress and go to bed.

Aerin comes in through the portal and goes to the bedroom, where she undresses and joins Iames and Vera in bed.

Iames wakes up and affectionately notes the way that Vera snuggled up to him in the night. Gently, so as not to wake her, he kisses her on the forehead and shifts her away from him, then slips out of bed and goes down to take a bath.

Aerin, who's been awake for a while now, finishes her prayers and goes to join Iames.

Iames comes up from the bath and goes to the wardrobe, where he starts to get dressed.

Iames shakes his head after a few moments communicating with Rocky. No, nothing. He ties his sash and sticks his guns through it. Want to get breakfast?

Aerin nods, sliding her sword and pistol through her sash. That sounds great. Trog's?

Iames smiles and opens a gate to Trog's.

Aerin goes through it.

Verdandi starts awake and reaches for her sword in an instant. After a moment she sees her surroundings and pushes herself up with one arm and looks over at Iames. Where are you going?

We're going to Trog's for a late breakfast. Want to come along? Iames, who was on the verge of going through the gate himself, steps back.

[AmberVael]

Okay. Verdandi lays back down, smiling. I will come in a moment.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames smiles at her and nods, then goes through the gate, but rather than close it all the way, he leaves it slightly open, a circle the size of a coin.

Verdandi lazily gets out of bed and goes to her wardrobe, picking out a soft tunic and matching pants. She dresses herself and considers the small portal before walking out to the portal which leads to the Police Station.

The small portal closes all the way.

Aerin comes through the gazebo-portal and goes to the tower, then up to the bedroom, where she undresses and goes to bed.

Iames follows Aerin. After undressing, he joins her in bed. They are both soon fast asleep.

Verdandi comes through the portal and hesitates, then goes to the bathing chambers and washes herself before going to the bedroom. She slips into bed next to Iames and puts an arm across him, smiling as she slowly falls asleep.

Verdandi wakes and dresses simply, then buckles on her sword and goes through the portal to the station.

Aerin wakes up, dresses, and goes to pray.

Iames wakes up and stretches, then gets up and gets dressed. He plane shifts into his office.

After finishing her prayers and having a brief workout in the dojo, Aerin goes through the portal to the police station.

Iames and Aerin appear. Aerin undresses and goes to bed, while Iames disappears again, only to reappear moments later with Vera in his arms. He undresses her and puts her in bed, then gets undressed himself before sliding gratefully under the covers between his fiances.

Aerin wakes, slips out bed, smiles at Iames and Vera, and goes down to the bathing chamber.

Aerin comes back up, gets dressed, and goes to pray. When she finishes (about an hour later), she goes down to the dojo and practices.

Finished with her practice, Aerin washes again quickly, then goes through the portal into the station.

Iames gets out of bed and goes down to the bathing chamber. After a quick bath, he comes back up and gets dressed, then goes through the portal to his office.

Iames appears, undresses, and goes to bed.

Aerin comes through the portal and goes to the bedroom, where she undresses and gets into bed, falling asleep soon afterwards.

Iames and Aerin wake up, dress, bathe, pray, and go through the portal to the police station.

Iames and Aerin return to the sparring room via a gate, and proceed to spar with one another.

Morning, honey. Iames is sitting up in bed, reading a book.

Morning. She sits up next to him, stretches, and yawns. Vala woke me up at dawn this morning to make me pray.

Iames watches her stretch appreciatively and grins at her. Making you follow the rules, hm?

Yeah. She elbows him lightly, then gets up and goes to the wardrobe. Opening it, she starts to get dressed.

Iames glances at Vera, still sleeping, then at Aerin. He gets up and goes to the wardrobe after her, selects some clothes, and dresses as well. I was thinking that perhaps we should get Vera a ring today. For the wedding, whenever we get around to deciding to have it.

Aerin nods as she ties her sash around her waist. Sounds like a good idea. Did you have a ring in mind?

Yes. After a few moments more, Iames also ties his sahs and drapes his cloak around his shoulders. Ready to go?

Aerin nods.

Iames opens a gate to Alarra's Gems.

Aerin steps through.

Iames follows her through, and the gate closes behind him.

Verdandi slowly wakes and gets up, then heads to take a bath.
[hr]Verdandi comes out of the bath and dresses, then picks up her sword and goes to the station.

Iames and Aerin appear, undress, and go to bed.

Game, bored at being ingored for so long, gets up and decides to explore. he flies out the portal into the Temple of Iames.

Iames wakes up, dresses, and goes to the police station.

Aerin wakes up and dresses, then goes through the portal to the station.

Iames appears with Vera in his arms. He lays her gently on the bed and takes off her armor, sword, and boots.

Verdandi barely opens her eyes and smiles weakly at Iames.

Aerin and Game come through the portal and make their way up to the bedroom.

Iames leans down and kisses her softly. Rest well, he whispers.

Verdandi closes her eyes, still smiling.

Iames sighs and goes over to his desk, where he takes out some paper and begins doodling.

Aerin starts playing with Game, but quietly.

Iames and Aerin go to bed.

Verdandi wakes up and groans, putting a hand on her head. By Odin, what did she do? She eventually gets out of bed and dresses simply, then goes through the portal to the station, picking up her sword as she goes.

Aerin comes up from the bathing chamber after a practice session and goes to the wardrobe, where she selects an outfit for the day.

Iames comes down from the library and smiles at Aerin. Have a good workout?

Aerin nods as she dresses. Yes, I did. Did you find what you were looking for in the library?

After spending a good bit of time being ensnared by what I found while looking for it, yes. Iames smiles.

That's good. Anything happened that we need to get to work on?

Iames pauses, then shakes his head. I don't think so. But we can't spend all our time here, right? He opens a gate to the police station.

Aerin smiles. Right. She steps through the gate.

Iames follows her through the gate, and it closes behind him.

Iames, Aerin, and Vera appear in the bedroom.

Aerin begins shedding her clothes carelessly as she walks to the bed and then crawls gratefully into it, where she falls asleep.

Verdandi drops her sword next to the bed, then undresses and collapses on it, trying to figure things out. She slowly falls asleep.

Iames undresses and gets into bed between them. He soon falls asleep as well.

Iames wakes up and gets out of bed, careful not to disturb Vera or Aerin. He dresses and shifts to his office.
