Leave the ever running chase
And still the beating heart
Writs of pride we now erase
And from the world depart
Right and wrong hold no more sway
They’re thoughts all soon forgot
Through the false, no hand will stay
The ones, whose eyes’ have sought
On the Order of the Faded Sages, Anonymous

Faded Sage
A faded sage is not a seeker of fame. He does not wish to be known far and wide for heroic deeds. His motives are not geared toward gaining status. But that is not to say he doesn't act.

Class Features

Weapon proficiency: The faded sage gains no weapon or armor proficiencies.

Tenants: A faded sage must remain non chaotic or lose the ability to become faded and vanished. In addition the faded sage must follow the tenants they are have learned or be unable to use their abilities for one day. Starting at level one a faded sage must perform at least two hours of ritualistic labor every morning in a profession or craft they have at least 2 skill points in. At level three a faded sage must always keep their anger in control. At level four they must exercise humility. At level five a two hours of meditation is added to the morning ritual. By level seven they should be nonjudgmental. At level ten the faded sage must find someone they will teach to become a faded sage. They have a month to find a student before they lose their abilities.

Faded State(ex): A faded sage can enter a special state where they erase themselves from the minds of others. The technique is a combination of physical posture, mental state of mind and spiritual mediation.
You can remain in the faded state for ten minutes per faded sage level and it affects one creature per faded sage level. Each creature is entitled to a Will save to negate the effect. (DC= 15+ faded sage level + Wis modifier)
You are invisible and inaudible to the creature. It cannot even detect your presence by means of blindsense, blindsight, scent, or tremorsense. It cannot pinpoint your location by any means.
The subject remains unaware of your actions, provided you do not make any attacks or cause any obvious or directly threatening changes in the subject’s environment.
If you take an action that creates a sustained and obvious change in the subject’s environment (for example, attacking the creature or moving a large or attended object the subject can see) the subject immediately gains a new saving throw against the ability at +10. An ally of the subject creature that is able to see or perceive you can use a move action to warn the subject and thereby grant it a new saving throw.
The duration need not be continuous and may be ended early. However, any session, no matter how short, counts as ten minutes of time.

Leave the Race (ex): You no longer have a scent and gain the trackless step ability (as druid). An item that is in your possession for a week losses its smell as well.

Still the Heart (ex): While in the faded state you can choose to no longer produce sound or heat (this applies to any equipment as well). Because of this you also no longer appear to tremorsense, blindsense, or blindsight so long as those abilities rely completely on hearing, vibration or heat sense(eg bats' echolocation). If not a Wisdom check (DC 10+ Wis modifier) may be made every round as a free action until the faded sage is detected.

Writs of Pride (sp) A faded sage may erase 20 pages worth of text as the erase spell each day, so long as the writing pertains or has mention of him by name or accurate description. This may be done at any distance, with 100% chance of erasure and never need touch so long as there is a line of sight. Caster level is equal to faded sage level.

From the World Depart (su) A faded sage may choose to become incorporeal (with equipment up to their heavy load) when they enter the faded state. The state must be ended before they can become corporeal again. While incorporeal you gain the incorporeal subtype and fly at half your speed.

Hold no Sway (su) A faded sage can choose to appear differently to divination than he actually is. He can detect as chaotic, undead, poisoned, magical or an animal should he choose. This ability may apply to objects he carries as well. A faded sage may change how he detects as a full round action that provokes an attack of opportunity.

Thoughts Soon Forgot (sp) A faded sage may cast modify memory 3/day, caster level equal to faded sage level, Save DC Wisdom based. It may only be used to erase the faded sage from the targets memory. It may not be used to recall or implant a memory.

Through the False No Hand Will Stay (su) A faded sage gains a +4 bonus to all saves vs illusions. In addition he does not trigger Alarm, Glyph of Warding or Symbol spells (they are still subject to the effect if someone else triggers it).

Whose Eyes’ Sought (ex): While in the faded state a faded sage may choose to not be seen, heard or detected by any creature. All the normal effects of the faded state apply to every creature with no Will save. The ability is taxing though and each round counts as five minutes of normal faded state time.

Vanished (su) A faded sage is as if constantly under the effect of a mind blank spell. A faded sage must choose during his meditation whether this ability is to be active and cannot change his mind after the choice is made.
