This really deserves a pic. Unfortunately, the (quite necessary AFAIK) new policy on images prevents me from coming up with one.

Mindblower
Enchantment/Evocation [Language Dependent*, Mind-Effecting*]
Level: Sor/Wiz 6
Components: V
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: 15 ft + 5 ft per caster level **
Target: 1 creature plus radius
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Will Negates / Reflex Half
Spell Resistance: Yes/No
* These descriptors only apply to its effect on the primary target (see below)
** Yes, this range is unusual. It also only applies to the primary target and in no way limits the secondary burst.

The caster speaks a revelatory statement aloud, directing it at a single target. The target must be able to hear and understand the statement, but the revelatory impact of the statement is magically impressed on them, and thus it merely needs to be something that the caster considers amazing, at least when you really stop to think about it.

This spell initially targets a single creature (here-after known as the "primary target") within range. The primary target must have all three mental ability scores or the spell fails automatically. If it fails a will save then the (forced) amazement at the idea is converted directly into kinetic energy, resulting in the brain detonating (only one brain for creatures with more than one), destroying the head (if any). This effect allows spell resistance, and kills creatures that need the brain that was detonated to survive. Note that, unusually, this effect does NOT prevent Raise Dead or similar effects that require a mostly intact corpse to function. It does, however, make the corpse unsuitable for many types of undead creation.

If the detonation occurs, it deals a number of d6's worth of damage equal to creatures intelligence score* in a burst with radius equal to 5 ft times the creature's wisdom score**. For creatures other than the primary target (in the cases of it not having or needing its brain) are allowed a reflex saving throw for half damage. The DC is 10 + spell level (usually 6) + the primary target's charisma modifier***. This damage is non-magical(thus not allowing spell resistance), and is half slashing if the primary target had a skull. The remaining portion of the damage is bludgeoning.

*The powers of the mind are varied and intelligence determines the effectiveness of one's ideas.

**Only with wisdom will one's ideas spread far.

***Forceful personalities are obviously harder to resist the ideas of.

Changelog:
Originally this was just Evocation, changed to Enchantment/Evocation.
Originally was Will or Fortitude whichever had the higher modifier for the primary target's save. Increased level by 1 to 6 to compensate.

This should definitely be a Dual-School spell. Enchantment/Evocation sounds perfect.

I can't say I agree with "Will OR Fortitude Negates". Surely a save vs 'this is freaking amazing' would just be Will.

Changed on both counts. Bumped it up a level to compensate for the change to how the save works.

The Fort/Will thing was partially to make the spell more odd, partially a balancing factor (since it is both a single target Save of Die and an AoE), and partially based on the idea that a sturdy body would resist the transformation of mental energy into physical energy, just like it would the alterations of Disintegrate or Flesh to Stone.

Incidentally, the range is to add to the humor value by increasing the risk that the caster will be within range of the explosion.
