Hey y'all. I'm Bobby and for 2013 I decided to do a yearblog - a new item, NPC, location, skill, etc. every day of the year, each entry at least 500 words. You can check it out over at http://farcastblog.com - plenty of ideas to steal for your game, even if Eclipse Phase isn't your preferred game.

Anywho, I'm coming up on 250 entries and I've been trying to scrape together some feedback on the entries, the site and whatnot - what people like and what they don't like, what they'd like to see more of before the year runs out, etc. For Free RPG Day I collected the first 151 entries as a rather plain PDF for anyone that loses track of daily entries - you can find Farcast 151 on Scribd (http://www.scribd.com/doc/147924617/Eclipse-Phase-Farcast-151), Box.net (https://www.box.com/s/ig2p9gld5mgf54w0n9pp), and GoogleDocs (https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8jLNAO9v2X5eE1VSUhRZWt3UTg/edit?usp=sharing). I'm planning on collecting everything as one big PDF when all is said or done, so any criticism on that is appreciated as well.

So, if anyone wants to take a gander and get back to me, I appreciate it. Love it or hate it, I'll take what feedback I can get.

Four weeks just flies past, doesn't it? Not too much longer to go now. Things you might have missed include Feather (http://www.farcastblog.com/2013/11/307-feather.html), Corrupted Chrysanthemum (http://www.farcastblog.com/2013/11/311-corrupted-chrysanthemum.html), Egotaph (http://www.farcastblog.com/2013/11/315-egotaph.html), Programmers without Borders (http://www.farcastblog.com/2013/11/317-programmers-without-borders.html), Dragoons (http://www.farcastblog.com/2013/11/319-dragoons.html), The Maas Gate (http://www.farcastblog.com/2013/11/327-maas-gate.html) and Heracles (http://www.farcastblog.com/2013/11/328-heracles.html).

I'm digging what I'm reading. I have no familiarity with the stat blocks but they seem easier than some systems, and I am going to take you up on your offer to take the fluff:smallbiggrin:

Heh. Thanks. The statblocks for NPCs are in "ultra-condensed" version that leaves out equipment and other stuff, but is fairly workable.

Oh hey. I stumbled across Farcast a while ago, been slowly working my way through it. Didn't realize this thread existed.

Good stuff. Entries that stand out in my mind:

Catsphere bestsphere
The planet-killer satellite and associated pseudo-cult
Possibly related: I really like the idea of what you've termed macromorphs. Panopticon touched on the idea a bit, but not enough. I like how you expanded on it.
The comet with faces had the requisite mix of "wtf" and "creepy" that I associate with the best of Eclipse Phase. Makes a good backdrop piece.

Thanks for reading! Glad you found a few you liked. I know they're not all winners, but with over 330 to browse through, you're likely to find something of interest.

It's down to the final stretch, and the Farcast yearblog will end on 31 December 2013, completing a full year of new Eclipse Phase entries, 366 in total. If you haven't had a chance to read it yet, now's a good time to jump in and see what you've been missing! I'm gonna see how much awesome I can cram into the next few weeks, and any feedback is appreciated.

I had originally budgeted this project 183,000 words (366 entries @ ~500 words an entry). It is currently just north of 208,000. With over twenty days left to go.

I applaud your dedication and the excellent writeup of the seedless in particular.

What on earth motivated you to do this?

Well, the final entry is up: 365: Greetings from the Future (http://www.farcastblog.com/2013/12/365-greetings-from-future.html).

Thanks for reading! One of the Farcast readers is preparing a spiffy PDF with all the entries properly edited and formatted, but if you just can't wait, I've compiled together a quick & dirty Farcast Ashcan PDF for your enjoyment.

A whole year of daily writing. That's quite an accomplishment.

This deserves a cookie.
