For Fading Echo (see World-Building), I'm using two kinds of spellcasting. I need them revised, critiqued, et cetera, for whether or not they could work for Pathfinder.

Black Magic/"Rituals": I was thinking of having Black Magic as something entirely different - something similar to incantations, but with each spell requiring a Witchcraft Check (1d20 + 1/2 CL + School Ability). Each "school" has a different ability (like psionics), and the division is purely specialist-based (meaning 6 different spell lists, not necromancy and friends). The Black Mage class will require one banned school, and grant rituals known.

Dusk Magic/"Channeling":Dusk Magic is arcane, I guess. It's going to have a few small changes, though, such as sacrificial components, vitalizing, and HP cost for each spell cast. The Dusk Mage class will use spells granted (prepared spontaneous casting).

So... how are they?

It might be useful for you to look through this (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=307549) and this (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=299864) for inspiration.

As-is though, you don't seem to have much material down for what's essentially a very broad modification to wizard schools and incantations. What you've said so far has as much detail here as a house rule rather than the detail needed for a new "Black Mage" class description which we can PEACH. There's not enough information here, sorry, for me to critique other than to say "sounds good so far".

Also, a link to your world-building thread would be good.

Here. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=303697)

Anyways, we haven't done much, or anything really, for mechanics yet. I'm kind of just starting that part.

Class threads will be up in a few minutes/hours.
