The House in the Woods

[Lykan]

In a small clearing a few miles into the woods stands a house made of ice, wood, and stone. It is only a single story, but it seems large enough to have several well sized rooms within it.

[Mhina]

Mhina bites her lip, clinging to Lykan's arm.

Bridge sleeps peacefully, curled up.

[Lykan]

Lykan sighs, holding Mhina close

Please, Mhina... Please talk to me...

Antony smiles, goes back into his room, and takes his blanket from his bed. He lays it over Bridge

[Mhina]

Mhina tries but seems incapable of speech. She cries, clinging to his arm.

Bridge snuggles up under the blanket, happily.

[Lykan]

Lykan sighs, hugging her

Mhina... Can I check something?

Antony smiles, resting a hand on her cheek

[Mhina]

Mhina tenses for a moment, then nods.

Bridge jumps and looks around. She then notices Antony and smiles. Hey there...

[Lykan]

Lykan nods and reaches into her mind, looking for anything strange...

Antony smiles

Hi... You sleep alright?

[Mhina]

Almost immediately Lykan can see a clawed hand reaching for his consciousness.

Bridge nods, sitting up. It's really comfortable here. I feel like I'm really at home.

[Lykan]

Lykan snarls, sending a blast of positive energy at the claw

Antony smiles

Maybe you are.

[Mhina]

Deimos stumbles back a bit and grins wickedly.

Bridge smiles, I would like that.

Fallon wakes up, her eyes glowing red. She doesn't seem to be awake so much as in a trancelike state.

[Lykan]

Lykan growls

I'm really getting sick of you...

Antony smiles and kisses her

Luthien looks over at her and frowns

That... Can't be good.

[Mhina]

Deimos smiles, The feeling is mutual. But seeing how Phobos did such a good job destroying your soon-to-be wife's psyche...I think I'll let you live for now, to produce him, later.

Bridge returns the kiss with a grin.

Fallon doesn't seem to even recognize the fact that Luthien's in the same room.

[Lykan]

Lykan gives him a savage grin

That feeling isn't mutual.

He roars and launches a bolt of positive energy lightning at Deimos

Antony grins, laying down next to her

Is there anything you want to do today?

Luthein gets up and after making sure she's really in a trance by waving a hand in front of her face, smacks her in the head with two fingers

[Mhina]

Deimos flips backwards and slips to the side in a fluid motion. Shall I show you what's bothering the lovely woman?

Bridge smiles, Actually...I'd really like if we went into Town. There's so many things to explore!

The strike seems to do nothing to Fallon.

[Lykan]

Lykan growls, the energy still crackling around him

It'd help.

Antony smiles

Alright.

He shifts to wolf form and kneels down in front of Bridge

Luthien looks closely at her eyes

Fallon?

[Mhina]

Deimos sneers and shows Lykan how it was Mhina's fault Phobos tore into Antony's soul in the first place.

Bridge blinks and climbs cautiously onto Antony's back. She giggles a bit as she wraps her arms around his neck.

Fallon doesn't respond.

[Lykan]

Lykan's eyes narrow

And I imagine you're the one who keeps replaying that image in her head?

Antony smiles

Hang on.

He bolts out the door

Luthien's eyes narrow, and he casts Dispel Magic on Fallon

[Mhina]

Deimos grins, Nah, don't have to. She feels guilty enough about it without my help.

The dispel doesn't seem to help.

[Lykan]

Lykan begins to concentrate, with the energy crackling around his fingertips growing. Electricity leaps from different parts of his body and then back into his form again

Luthien shrugs-

Won't hurt...

-and ksses her

[Mhina]

Deimos sneers, Do you really think you can hurt me? I'm not a part of your wife's consciousness.

Fallon still doesn't respond.

[Lykan]

Lykan doesn't respond, the energy still growing

Luthien shrugs, sitting down next to her. He pokes the side of her head

Helooooo?

[Mhina]

Deimos smiles and waves goodbye as he disappears.

Fallon's eyes stop glowing and she looks over at Luthien, confused.

[Lykan]

Lykan snaps his fingers, and a shockwave of positive energy ripples through Mhina's mind

Luthien smiles

Welcome back.

[Mhina]

The shockwave doesn't seem to do anything.

Fallon frowns, I was gone?

[Lykan]

Lykan growls, looking around her mind

Mhina?

Luthien nods

You were in a trance.

[Mhina]

Mhina appears, her head bowed.

Dammit... Fallon growls, looking away.

[Lykan]

Lykan reaches a hand for her

Come here... Please...

Luthien frowns

What's wrong?

[Mhina]

Mhina approaches him, looking around her own mindscape with curiosity.

Deimos is stronger here than in my own time because there are two of him.

[Lykan]

Lykan hugs her, tight. He looks around the mindscape as well, not really paying attention to what it looked like before

Luthien frowns

That doesn't make much sense.

[Mhina]

The mindscape seems rather bright, with snow and ice covering everything. It would be very easy for someone to slip if they weren't careful.

He can draw from the power of his other self...

[Lykan]

Lykan smiles slightly, looking around

It's very beautiful here...

Luthien's brow furrows

I would think since there's two of them his power would be cut in two.

[Mhina]

Mhina smiles and hugs him.

Fallon shakes her head. No such luck...hisself in this time was just as powerful as him in my time. Maybe less-so. I'm surprised that his lesser self is able to draw on the power of the one inside me...

[Lykan]

Lykan smiles

Then again, it is your mind...

Luthien sighs

I'm amazed to chaotic creatures would want to work together...

[Lord Sidereal]

A large, dark skinned fox slinks about just outside the house. Which is not altoghether an odd occurence.

[Mhina]

Mhina tries to poke him out of her mind so she can hug him in reality.

Fallon shakes her head. No point arguing with yourself.

[Lykan]

Lykan comes back to reality, smiling

Luthien grins

I hear that.

[Mhina]

Mhina hugs him tightly.

Fallon sighs. I never should have come back in time...

[Lykan]

Lykan smiles

Are you okay now?

Luthien frowns

Maybe... when one is lending power to the other, we should destroy him while he's weak.

[Mhina]

Mhina drops her gaze.

Are you sure that wouldn't just cause more problems in destroying the other?

[Lykan]

Lykan turns her head back up and kisses her

Come on... It's alright. It's just a mistake, and we fixed it...

Luthien raises an eyebrow

How so?

[Mhina]

Mhina frowns, not looking him in the eyes.

Well...he may keep the powers of his other self...

[Lykan]

Lykan frowns

Mhina...

Luthien nods

Huh... That may be...

He sits, trying to think of a good idea

[Mhina]

Mhina looks back up at Lykan.

[Lykan]

Lykan smiles and hugs Mhina

I love you...

[Mhina]

She smiles and tries to speak as well, but the words don't come out. She pacifies her anger at herself by kissing him instead.

[Lykan]

Lykan smiles sadly

Is it a physical or mental thing that's keeping you from speaking, Mhina?

[Mhina]

She points at her head.

[Lykan]

Lykan sighs

Do you know what in your head is doing it?

[Mhina]

She shakes her head.

[Lykan]

Lykan sighs, hugging her again

We'll figure this out somehow, okay?

[Mhina]

She nods, clinging to him.

[Lykan]

Lykan sighs

Would you like to go anywhere today?

[Mhina]

She bites her lip and shrugs.

[Lykan]

Lykan smiles

Maybe seeing someplace nice will help you...

He takes her hand

Ready?

[Mhina]

She nods, holding his hand tightly.

[Lykan]

Lykan and Mhina dissipear

[Lykan]

Demetrius wakes up in the central room, rubbing his head and sighing.

Luthien remains in his meditative trance

Lykan and Mhina appear inside the house

[Wukei]

Mhina sits down, sighing.

[Lykan]

Lykan looks at her questioningly

[Wukei]

She shakes her head, smiling reassuringly again.

[Lykan]

Lykan smiles, holding out a hand

Ready?

[Wukei]

She nods, clinging to his hand.

[Lykan]

Lykan reaches into her mind again, looking for anything that deems to be broken

[Wukei]

A dark cave sits at the back of her mindscape.

[Lykan]

Lykan moves toward the cave

Mhina?

[Wukei]

A darker form of Mhina, one that seems more like her brother with the red hair, wearing a dress to match, doesn't seem to notice him. It stands over bodies upon bodies. The hair and dress, it seems, are not naturally red.

[Lykan]

Lykan winces

Mhina, answer me.

[Wukei]

A hand wrests on Lykan's shoulder and tries to tug him away from the cave.

[Lykan]

Lykan pulls away from the hand, going deeper into the cave

Mhina.

[Wukei]

The hand grasps at him, desperately but will not follow him into the cave. She steps away, her feet crunching in the false snow of her mindscape.

The other self--the one of the cave--looks up at him, her golden eyes glowing with an eerie light. The most current body she stands over is Antony. She rests her bloodied hands on the ice blade stabbed into his stomach.

I have killed you before...

[Lykan]

Lykan shakes his head

Not me... Deimos.

[Wukei]

She smiles the smile of trying to explain something to a child. If you occupy the same body, there is no difference. She stands slowly from her sword and turns to face him, fully. She looks over his shoulder and notices her pristine self waiting just outside the cave, trying to call Lykan back. She frowns, narrowing her eyes at Lykan. You wish to remove the knowledge I've gained of the world. Pretend the torture and deaths never happened...

[Lykan]

Lykan shakes his head

No, actually... I want you to have these deaths be less harsh upon yourself.

[Wukei]

She wipes some of the blood from her arms and the gaping wounds produce more blood to cover them. She shakes her hands a bit to remove the blood from her hands, seeming not to notice that it'd already been replaced. I was never meant to kill...some people are never meant to kill...but when we do, it's hard to stop...

The Mhina outside the cave squeaks to try to get Lykan's attention.

[Lykan]

Nobody's meant to kill... But everyone can...

Lykan looks at the corpse of Antony momentarily before looking up at the in-the-cave Mhina

I've killed... Family... Friends... Heroes... These kind of memories, you can't bottle up... Just let them out... It makes the pain less...

He looks back at the Mhina outside, curiously

[Wukei]

The one out in the snow motions for him to come, quickly.

Behind him, the sound of a sword being pulled from where it was impaled in a body rings throughout the cave, and the steps of a creature breaking bones below it's feet soon follows.

[Lykan]

Lykan sighs

I'm not gonna like what I see when I turn around, am I...

He turns around

[Wukei]

The dark-haired Mhina approaches Lykan, frowning, the golden light in her eyes brightening. Don't worry...I'll only have to kill you once more, I promise. She thrusts forward with the sword.

[Lykan]

The sword passes right through Lykan. He looks down, sighing

Come on... I'm not THAT stupid... I've got enough wards going to protect me from a nuclear bomb.

He looks back at the other Mhina, and smiles sadly

Sorry, hun... I'm not aiming for anything too dramatic today...

[Wukei]

The dark Mhina's eyes widen. No...this is my mind... You shouldn't be able to stop me...


The one out in the snow holds out her hand to try to get Lykan to come to her.

[Lykan]

Lykan grins

I'm only a projection...

He turns around, and heads back to the Mhina outside the cave. He looks at her sadly

Hey...

[Wukei]

She looks him all over to make sure he's okay.

The other Mhina throws her sword, but it disappates as soon as light hits it.

[Lykan]

Lykan smiles

I'm fine... Though I want you to do something for me, if you can.

[Wukei]

She looks up at him, curiously. Her other self has gone back to standing over the bodies as though her better self and Lykan aren't standing right outside her cave.

[Lykan]

Lykan looks back to the cave

Shine light in there, please.

[Wukei]

Mhina tenses and shakes her head, looking down.

[Lykan]

Lykan takes her hand

Please, Mhina...

[Wukei]

She sighs and raises a hand, shooting a ray of light at the dark cave, the light seems to disipate as soon as it reaches the darkness, just as the sword disipated as it reached the light.

[Lykan]

Lykan raises a hand

Can I, Mhina?

[Wukei]

She tenses again and looks away.

[Lykan]

Lykan takes her hand

Mhina?

[Wukei]

She jumps slightly and looks up at him.

[Lykan]

Lykan frowns and hugs her

[Wukei]

She clings to him, pressing her face against his chest.

[Lykan]

Lykan manifests himself fully into Mhina, wrapping his arms around her

I'm sorry Mhina...

[Wukei]

She shakes her head and smiles up at him. She glances over at the cave with worry, as though if she got too close her other self might attack her.

[Lykan]

Lykan looks at the cave. He remains silent for a long time before asking

Is that you as well?

[Wukei]

She nods, looking down.

[Lykan]

Lykan frowns

Your mind is breaking apart...

[Wukei]

Mhina smiles, trying to be comforting, but looks away after a moment.

[Lykan]

Lykan frowns, shaking his head. He flopsdown on the ground and sighs

[Wukei]

She places a hand on his shoulder.

[Lykan]

Lykan frowns, looking down

I don't know what to do...

[Wukei]

She tries to push him out of her mind.

[Lykan]

Lykan is pushed back into reality. He sits on the floor, looking at the ground

[Wukei]

Mhina hugs him, closing her eyes.

[Lykan]

Lykan looks at her

I don't know how to help...

[Wukei]

She smiles, kissing him.

[Lykan]

Lykan frowns

How can you smile when you're like this?

[Wukei]

She pokes him in the chest softly and then kisses him.

[Lykan]

Lykan smiles sadly

I'm sorry Mhina...

[Wukei]

She shakes her head, still smiling.

[Lykan]

Lykan raises an eyebrow

I don't understand...

[Wukei]

She hugs him, resting her head on his shoulder, sighing.

[Lykan]

Lykan frowns, resting his head on hers and sighing

Do you want to see anyone?

[Wukei]

She blinks and looks up at him, questioningly.

[Lykan]

Lykan frowns

Do you want to see anyone? Fallon, Antony, Demetrius, whatever...

[Wukei]

She bites her lip and shrugs.

[Lykan]

Lykan hugs her, looking at the ground

I'm sorry... I'm just trying to help make you feel better...

[Wukei]

She smiles and returns the hug and kisses him.

[Lykan]

Lykan sighs, looking at the ground

[Wukei]

Mhina lifts his chin. She smiles reassuringly.

[Lykan]

Lykan sighs, closing his eyes

[Wukei]

Mhina sighs, her shoulders slumping.

[Lykan]

Lykan opens his eyes again, looking at her questioningly

[Wukei]

She takes his hands and clenches them tightly, kissing him.

[Lykan]

Lykan sighs, hugging her tightly

I'm really, really sorry...

[Wukei]

She shakes her head, not sure how to indicate that it's not his fault. She sighs and stands, moving away from him.

[Lykan]

Lykan sighs and frowns. He holds up a hand, and a stack of sheets of paper and a pencil appear in front of him

She looks at the paper and sighs.

[Lykan]

Lykan frowns, waving his hand. The paper and pencil dissipears

... Sorry...

[Wukei]

She shakes her head, then looks down. She clenches her fists, aggravated at the turn of events.

[Lykan]

Lykan bites his lip, gets up, walks over to Mhina and hugs her again

[Wukei]

(Oh, look, it's a silent movie!)

She clings to his shirt front, closing her eyes tightly, resting her forehead on his chest.

[Lykan]

Lykan sighs, holding her close

Is there anything you wanna do tonight?

[Wukei]

She looks up at him and smiles, she takes his hand and draws him toward the door.

[Lykan]

Lykan follows, smiling

[Lykan]

Antony wakes up and comes out of her room, and into the main one, sighing.

Deme remains asleep

[Wukei]

Falon sits in the living room, cleaning her shakujyou (though it hardly needs it.)

[Lykan]

Antony looks up, and frowns

Kill anyone with that, lately?

She shakes her head, rubbing her temples

Sorry... Head still hurts.

[Wukei]

Fallon scowls at Antony. Would you be mad if I said I had?

[Lykan]

She stands and takes a few steps away, her eyes shut in an attempt to cope with her headache

I said I was sorry, alright? Just... No more arguing, please...

[Wukei]

Falon frowns at Antony. You started the argument and pass it off as 'my head hurts?'

Antony frowns, sitting on the ground and bringing her knees up to her chest

Yes. An excuse which has no weight to anything in life. A poor sordid excuse which would probably get you kicked out of the army, let people laugh at you, and make you despised iff you brought it up after doing something wrong.

Falon glares at her sibling. Man you're grumpy.

She looks up

I'm sorry! Everthing just feels bad... Everything's all cramped up for no reason and my head feels like someone keeps banging it with a club.

Falon frowns, thoughtfully. She makes a face and steps outside.

Antony looks up, and follows her outside

Did I do something wrong?

She shakes her head. This is just a bit too weird for me.

Antony bites her lip, and steps back inside, looking at the ground

Falon glances back in. You don't know what's wrong, do you?

[Lykan]

Sort of both. I find it disturbing, but the physical problem is with you.

Antony looks across her female form again

Does this have to do with what we went to Inari's for?

Falon bites her lip. Sort of...

Falon scratches her head. Have you ever heard girls discuss...y'know...girl things?

Antony shudders, then raises an eyebrow at Fallon

She raises an eyebrow

Falon shakes her head. He made me take him shopping.

She shrugs

So? He wanted clothes... Men's clothes feel kind of strange on a girl's body. You may have noticed that I'm wearing some of Libris's things...

She frowns. Wukei and I wear men's clothing.

[Lykan]

She sighs

She didn't have any normal pants.

I looked. Honest.

[Wukei]

She nods. Exactly. But Demi went shopping. And he preferred a dress.

He shrugs

Maybe he just wanted to try something... Or maybe he's just reacting weird to new hormones.

Falon shivers, not wanting to think about it. What scares me most? Demi makes a better girl than me.

Antony raises an eyebrow

He dresses well, seems to know what colour combinations go together best, and likes shopping. That's just for starters.

[Lykan]

Antony grins, chuckling inaudibly

That's the first time he's ever gone "shoping"... Dad used to just make stuff for us, remember? As for dressing well and knowing colours... For gods sake, sis... He's a sorceror.

[Wukei]

Exactly! He was already girly to begin with!

[Lykan]

Antony frowns

She looks out the door, leaning against it's sill. I don't know...I suppose I see girlieness as a weakness...and for him to display it in spades...

Antony raises an eyebrow

He stunned a demon with a single word. Is that very weak? On top of that... Bridge is kinda girly... And you've seen what she can accomplish. Hell... Mom isn't tomboyish, but you know she can definetly kick ass...

She shrugs

I'm just saying... Power isn't restricted to anyone. Look at me. I'm a lazy drunkard mute who spends most of time in battle invisible.

Usually if someone doesn't have an opposite sex parent they tend to lean toward that sex to try to make up for it, psychologically speaking. Everyone knows I wasn't very responsible.

But I hardly had any time with mom... And that doesn't explain you very well either... You act rather tomboyish, but we still have dad...

[Wukei]

Falon shrugs. I grew up around all boys. Dad, you guys, Grandfather Vilk. And the only female I really knew as a teacher was a tomboy.

[Lykan]

Antony raises an eyebrow

Who? Miss Wukei?

[Wukei]

She nods. Exactly.

[Lykan]

Antony sighs, rubbing her temples again

Is alcohal gonna make the... Problems... Better, or worse?

[Wukei]

She smiles. It's a coin toss. For some it makes it better, others--worse. For some there's no change.

She grumbles

Great.

She sighs, looking up at Fallon

Can I confess something to you? It's freaking me out... And I need to tell someone...

[Wukei]

Falon nods. Certainly.

[Lykan]

She bites her lip

I-... Well... I've been ummm...

She gulps

Well, I think since I took this form, I've been attracted to boys.

She looks up

I swear, it is so godsdamned creepy... It happens out of reflex, and I'd never do it normally, but I've just found myself giving double takes to some... "Good looking" guys.

She looks at the ground

It's SO weird...

Falon shakes her head. It just shows that you're heterosexual, even in a female form. There's nothing wrong with that.

[Lykan]

Antony sighs

It still feels wierd... I've never found men atractive before.

[Wukei]

She smiles and hugs Antony, kissing her on the cheek. It's okay, it's the hormones. You'll be back to normal soon.

This has got to be worse on Deme, though... I mean, I meditate and stuff every day.

She raises an eyebrow. What do you mean?

Falon curses in about five languages.

Antony raises an eyebrow

Antony bites her lip, looking in Deme's room

Falon jumps up. Crap. She runs out of the house in search of her younger 'sister.'

Antony leads Seng to the house in the Woods, and enters, hoding open the door for him to enter

The monk enters slowly and bows, Thank you for your hospitality, Miss Antonia.

[Lykan]

Antony smiles

Oh, it's no problem! We're glad to have guests every once and a while...

She leads him to her room

You can stay in here. I'll sleep in the main room tonight.

She bites her lip

Please, it's just Antonia. I'm no "miss."

[Seng Lu]

He shakes his head. Forgive my ways...but I cannot take a lady's room.

[Lykan]

She bites her lip

Ummm... That won't be anything to worry about. Just trust me on that.

[Seng Lu]

He smiles. Please, allow me to take a place in here. I am quite comfortable and can sleep even when others are passing by. I'll be fine in this room.

[Lykan]

Antony frowns

Well... I couldn't stand a guest not having the best room in the house... So I'm staying in here. Stay here if you want.

She shrugs, and lays down on a couch

[Lykan]

Antony wakes up, looks through a small box in the corner, and pulls out a large slab of orange meat. She puts it in something akin to an oven and waits

[Seng Lu]

Seng Lu wakes, sitting up, unsure of how he fell asleep, or at the moment, where he is. He looks around and notices Antonia. He sighs and stands, groaning a bit at the usual pain there is whenever he stands from rest.

[Lykan]

Antony looks up and smiles

Sleep well?

[Seng Lu]

He smiles. As well as one can sleep when one dreams too much.

[Lykan]

Antony bites her lip

Good dreams, I hope?

[Seng Lu]

He smiles gently. Sometimes.

[Lykan]

She nods

Did last night bring you good dreams?

[Seng Lu]

He shakes his head. Unfortunately, I was not so lucky.

[Lykan]

Antony frowns

Oh... Anything I can do to make you feel better?

[Seng Lu]

He shakes his head. I am afraid not. Do not worry, the dreams are normal and superficial.

[Lykan]

She nods

She does so, tossing a dozen or so potatoes into the oven

He smiles and bows. Well, thank you.

She sits down next to Seng

He runs a hand through his white hair. It seems that evil and good do not only live in the same city...they coexist. Tell me how.

Antony bites her lip

Well... We're a very tight-knit community... It's not really about moral alignment, but who you're loyal to. My father and grandmother for instance... They aren't the best of people, but they still are liked by the general populace.

[Seng Lu]

He raises an eyebrow. Really? So your family has evil members? But they are accepted by the good?

[Lykan]

She shakes her head

Well... My father in grandmother are in the gray area... So is my... 'Sister,' come to think of it. I am too. The only truley evil member of my family are either not evil anymore or dead.

[Seng Lu]

He nods. It is not unusual for good people to accept neutral parties. I myself am neutral.

[Lykan]

She smiles

Many of us are neutral, as well as good... Some of us cary evil within our bodies, though... Which may be what you sense.

She sighs

My sisters, my grandmother, my grandfather, my father did at one point too... And me... All of us have a bit of evil within us, but it doesn't control us.

[Seng Lu]

He looks away, his eye glowing faintly. Are the demons drawing all those they possess here for some strange reason....

[Lykan]

Antony frowns, shrinking slightly

... What?

[Seng Lu]

He looks back to Antony, smiling. Forgive me. I was raised in a temple. Most of my time is spent contemplating, and sometimes I forget that I am in the company of others.

She smiles

It's alright... I guess it would take a bit to get used to a less sheltered lifestyle.

She slides a bit closer to Seng

So, yeah... All of us harbor some sort of demonic entity or deity within us... But that's no reason to fear. They're under control.

He smiles at her. Believe me, I do not fear demons, especially those so weak that they must attach themselves to another entity.

She smiles

Oh, they're hardly weak... My older sister has the personifications of dread attached to her body, my younger the personification of the din of battle, myself the personification of fear... And my grandmother, Hel herself.

[Seng Lu]

He frowns. I see...the one called Wukei is your grandmother? How strange that I didn't notice the resemblance...

She bites her lip

I saw her yesterday. She seemed rather...strange. One minute she is happy, the next she's growling at everyone in sight.
