Plane Slide
School - Conjuration (teleportation); Level cleric/oracle 4, sorcerer/wizard 6, summoner 4, witch 6

Casting time - 1 standard action
Components - V, S

Range - Touch
Target - You and touched objects or other touched willing creatures
Duration - Instantaneous
Saving throw - None and Will negates (object); Spell resistance - no and yes (object)

This spell instantly transports you to a point on another plane that is coterminous or coexistent with the caster's starting location. You can bring along objects as long as their weight doesn't exceed your maximum load. You may also bring along one willing medium creature or equivalent (carrying gear or objects up to its maximum load) or its equivalent per three caster levels. A small creature counts as 1/2 a medium creature, a large creature counts as two medium creatures, a huge creature counts as four medium creatures, and so forth. All members to be transported must be in contact with one another, and at least one of those creatures must be in contact with you. As with all spells where the range is personal and the target is you, you need not make a saving throw, nor is spell resistance applicable to you. Only objects held or in use (attended) by another person receive saving throws and spell resistance.

-------------

This spell allows for earlier planar travel and adventures, but cannot be used as a weapon and is MUCH more limited in locations it can reach. From the material plane the shadow plane and ethereal plane can be reached, but only the points "next" to where the caster started. (And, probably, one could use two castings to switch from the material to the shadow plane and then to the ethereal plane and be in a VERY different location than if one had jumped straight to the ethereal plane) Other planes are only available based off of the setting and might require significant travel to reach. The Worldwound, for example, would be a clear entrance point to Deskari's domain in the Abyss. How common coterminous locations are is entirely at the GM's discretion.

Two spells I plan to work out later are a divination spell to find such coterminous locations and an abjuration to seal such locations. (Thus requiring a caster level check to pass through)

I would also houserule plane shift to have each focus keyed to a specific location on that plane, where they arrive within 5d100 miles of.

Any thoughts, comments, critiques, etc?

Neat idea, good spell. If you want earlier planar travel, then this would work fine.
