Ah he he he. I think I'll be the first to proclaim this possible might be pairing. Why? Similiar situations in their lives that result in headaches or just pure crapiness. I dunno why. I just think it will happen.

At least he won't go all "Thomas Covenant" on Wanda.

No way. Parson won't get wanda. It just wouldn't happen

Oh, I definitely think he will try. It depends on how Wanda sees him and her personal goals. If she sees him as a fat slob, then no there will be nothing. If she sees him as a powerful warlord and her next step in gaining power, then yes they will hook up, but it will be short lived. If Parson become a changed man through his experience in Erfworld, and Wanda can get over the obvious physical attractiveness differences, then there may be a chance towards the end of the comic. IMO, of course.

Who's to say that, during his time in Erfworld, he doesn't shed a few dozen pounds?

Hey, what if Parson is a really really nice person on the inside with tons of inner beauty and what not? Maybe then!

Even though I don't think Parson does...

or he could wind up with someone else in the strip

You're not the first, it has been goin' down since at least strip 16.

I'm not really for it, it is a bit too predictable. Plus it looks like he's about twoll size, and the physics of that are a bit scary. However, they would look really cute together.

In my experience, no one cares anyway.

Of course, the fact that he wrote this world might help.

Of course, the fact that he wrote this world might help.I don't think he did. We know he wrote a world, but he didn't clue into the name "lord stanley the plaid". He probably would have if he had created Erfworld. I think it is an aspect of the spell that it summoned someone who would have no troubles getting familiar with the world, so someone for whom all the aspects of Erfworld were popular culture. It would be like if someone was summoned into Earth from a dimension where "terrorism" was a popular game played while snacking on crummmelfloops, a treat mysteriously similar to the law of gravity... or whatever. Point being the whole world would be dazzlingly familar to them and they could have written it as a work of fiction, but they didn't.

Oops, sorry, that was OT.

Oooh, that makes sense too. Here I just assumed it was the world he made, but with different characters.

So, no hope for him and Wanda? At least that means Wanda is free.

He may have made the world but, he may not have made the characters.

Wanda will like his competent commanding despite his physical unattractiveness.

It is the cliche for characters like him I guess... Still I believe this comic is partially about breathing new life into old jokes/memes? I just can't think of a semi-humorous new way for a relationship like this to unfold.

We really don't know either Parson or Wanda well enough to decide whether they could ever have a romantic relationship. Parson may be interested in furry porn (one of his favorite web sites is Girls Gone Feral) Are there any real furries on Urf World? If so, Parson might end up in a relationship with one of them.

actualy.. with that censorship? i wonder if 'hooking up' is going to be physicaly possible.... we may find some kind of humerous suprise ahead.

Wanda's pretty hot. I think Parson will make a very clumsy attempt, and then Wanda will politley but firmly brush him off.

Could be wrong though, could always be wrong.

It's worth noting that if he's as big as he looks in the latest comic, he vould have an enormous schwanzstucker...

I vote we call the pairing "Panda."

You know there was a wizard of oz reference and all....and I think I see some simularities with Parsons real world friends and perhaps ...that is supposed to be more than a coincidence. Like after dealing with the problems in this world and is ready for a relationship with someone like wanda he solves the big climactic problem and is yoiked back to his world. Where there he is more confident, ready to enjoy/live life, and have a wanda look a like whos more on his wave length.

Major plot guess from me but there!

I'm inclined to agree, I think he really could eat gwiffons for breakfast:smallbiggrin:. So he's probably like the krosan cloudscraper of Erfworld.

Pwn'd and Panda are still possible, else how are Half-Giants made?

Parsons movement rate is most likely 1.5 X an erf or exactly the same as theirs (do to shape).

OUCH.... This....Wanda being the female, you see....

Reminds me of an OOTS strip:http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0322.html

Well, in the last panel of comic 20 we get a better approximate size so he is about 4 units tall and maybe as tall as a Twoll so he's still in the ballpark...

Hmm. I wonder, frankly, if Parson would even find Wanda physically attractive. I mean, yeah, she's very attractive *as a cartoon character*, but that's because we have certain filters in place to see past the stylization inherent in many cartoon characters. To someone who's realistically drawn and actually *there* with her...I mean, she's got a freakishly big head, even more freakishly big eyes (yeah, big eyes are nice, but not when they're the size of poached eggs), and fingers that merge into one another when she's not actively using them (contrast Parson's realistic fingers on Page 16).

I think there was a Simpsons episode once where they finished off with a very faithful felt-costume version of Homer wandering around the real world. I mean, not that Homer's ever a thing of beauty, but it was really amazing just how shockingly ugly he was when transposed to realistic environs.

Isn't there an old offensive joke about the perfect woman being 4 feet tall and having a flat head?

Bah, I had a post written out, then checked the responses on the second page and saw Belboz had beaten me to the punch. I'm hoping that the art style mismatch gets some exploration. Parson didn't howl in disgust at the giant headed little horror-babies after coming down the master control program, but it might still be forthcoming.

don't forget that while he is more realistic, Parson is still cartoony too. From our overly-shaded, depth-ridden perspective it is hard to say exactly what the erfworlders look like to Parson or what they would look like in our world.

Or perhaps Parson is from an alternate Earth exactly like ours in every way except that the laws governing light interplay are slightly different so that everything looks cell-shaded.

I think Parson and Wanda will, over time, develop great respect and sympathy for each other. Boyfriend-girlfriend? Not so much. I think their physiques are just too different. (For starters, Parson is the size of about half a dozen Wandas.)

I say way to go fat man! Represent! Boop 'til it hurts! =)

lol j/k... but seriously, if his time in Erfworld diverts his grating personality, it could be possible. I could see her taking to him if he keeps his sarchasm but loses his... well... OCD compulsiveness that we nerds are all too well known for. =)

Eww... kissing in a realistic comic... eww...

Sorry, I've got Delayed Interest Development.

And I considered that too... they're very similar.

the obvious physical attractiveness differences

It will be difficult, but I imagine Parson could probably end up settling for Wanda. I mean what woman wouldn't to be with an encylopedia of Star Trek and LotR facts wrapped up in 300 + pound package of twisted steel and sex appeal? Heck, a handsome guy like him might end up with Wanda, Jillian, and a couple of those shady elves

(No, I'm not being sarcastic, I'm just a fat guy in denial)
