Hey everyone
Rags here ^_^

Just curious if anyone could help me making a Anthro Angler Fish
I really like Deep Sea Murlocs and I fell in love with this idea after see this picture. http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/f/20...er-d4rft4c.jpg

I wanted to have something balanced max of +1 LA for males and probably +3 for Females (not sure if there would be a favoured class difference like Drow).
With what I can see it will have at least:

Bite and 2 claw attacks
Darkvision 60 ft
Low Light Vision
Colour Blind
Sensitivity to normal/bright lights
Be able to swim well (derp)
Not be very charismatic so normal -2 there
I see males being small and females being either medium or large
Pack hunters so normal fighter or ranger class preferred.
Dagon being their deity since he is the Deep Sea Obylith and would probably be the only one to actually notice them.
Nets, Tridents most likely being available to them regardless of class.

That's my take on it really, if ANYONE can help that would be amazing <3

I'm curious what's the picture because that link is broken?

If you could repost it please.

I found some others though, Pic 1 (http://xnightkidsx.deviantart.com/art/Angler-Fish-Hyo-47188653) Pic 2 (http://hollybecker.deviantart.com/art/Angler-Fish-Mermaid-406284804) I kind of like the idea of making them a offbreed of Mer or Selkie. Other than that there's this (http://sonic.wikia.com/wiki/Queen_Angelica).

I'm kind of interested in using this idea and creating something for my own campaign/world. If i do I'll post it here. I plan to have multiple medium sized continents and players will be traveling between them quite often so I need to fill my oceans and seas with stuff too.

I recommend basing it on the murlocs from Sword & Sorcery's Dark Factions since they are already statted up for 3.5 in it.

Here is the text modified only to standard 3.5

Murloc Racial Traits

+2 Dexterity, +1 Wisdom, –2 Charisma. Murlocs are faster than most people realize, even above the water, and surprisingly focused and strong-willed. Their appearance makes most surface-dwellers uncomfortable, however.
Medium: As Medium creatures, murlocs have no special bonuses or penalties based on their size.
Murloc base land speed is 20 feet. Murloc base swim speed is 30 feet. Like all creatures with a swim speed, a murloc can move through water at her swim speed without making Swim checks. Murlocs gain a +8 racial bonus on any Swim check to perform some special action or avoid a hazard. A murloc always can choose to take 10 on a Swim check, even if distracted or endangered. A murloc can use the run action while swimming, provided she swims in a straight line.
Monstrous Humanoid: Murlocs are monstrous humanoids, not humanoids. As such, they are immune to hold person and other effects that specifically target humanoids.
Aquatic Subtype: Murlocs have the aquatic subtype.
Darkvision: Murlocs can see up to 60 feet in total darkness. Darkvision is black and white only, but it is otherwise just like normal sight.
Amphibious: Murlocs can breathe both air and water indefinitely. They are uncomfortable on land, but can function on it.
Dehydration: Murlocs must immerse themselves in water for at least 1 hour once per day. A murloc who spends 24 hours without immersing herself in water takes 1d6 points of damage and a –1 penalty on attack and damage rolls, skill and ability checks, and saving throws. Every 8 hours thereafter, the murloc takes the same damage and penalties, which stack. Damage from this effect cannot be healed by any means until the murloc immerses herself in water for at least 1 minute for every hour she was out of water.
Swim is a class skill for all murloc characters.
Automatic Language: Aquan
Bonus Languages: Common and Dwarven. Murlocs sometimes learn the languages of the creatures with which they interact.
Favored Class: Ranger. A multiclass murloc’s ranger class does not count when determining whether she suffers an experience point penalty for multiclassing.

Anglerfish Murlocs have the same racial traits as other murlocs but also have a bioluminescent lure that hangs from their foreheads. This allows them to see 20 feet in total darkness, except magical darkness, but gives them a -10 penalty to Hide checks made to hide in shadows or other areas of non-magical darkness. A hat or other head covering negates the penalty but also prevents them from seeing normally in darkness.
