My Motto:

Everything will be good.

Also kind of a mantra I guess... Repeat it enough and it becomes true.

When in doubt... could be Belkar motto too! He said that too, but ended with something like put fire to something, or light something up... don't remember! :smalltongue:
Just made me think of it... I've never seen that movie. I think I should someday. *nods*

Everyone should watch that movie at least once in their lifetime. It is really a good one, full with great advices about life, such as my motto.

Forget about the past - live for today.

My motto, because it's something I didn't do in my teenage years, since then I've realised that lifes to short not to!

Well, due to my weird nature I'd say...
Respect everything. Accept everything. Absorb everything.

"Do the right thing"

Not that you always know what the right thing to do is. But at least you can try and do what you think is right.

It's a moral, a philosophy and a guiding principle for me, but I must admit it is sometimes damn inconvenient.

My motto?

Be yourself.

That's all I'll need in the way of mottos.

Translating from French. "And let the good times roll"....why? because it's its mostly myself who is stopping from haveing a good time.

Man stumbles over the truth, but most of the time picks himself up and continues on. -WC

Pretty much the poem If. (http://www.swarthmore.edu/~apreset1/docs/if.html) Think your mature? Read that through. If you say "Of course I pass!" then read it again. If you say, "Whoa... I'm nowhere near that..." then you're fairly close.
Funny enough that poem is the closest thing I have to a holy book. In terms of what I try and live up to etc. Twitch okay so I will never get there is no reason for not aiming for perfection....hey that's not a bad motto either..I think I'll keep it.

I don't suffer from insanity.
I enjoy every minute of it.

I don't have a motto, nor a code of ethics, nor a code of honour. I have mostly instinct, wrapped in whimsy, wrapped in bacon.

Non-conformists hate conformists for not conforming to non-conformity.

It's very true when you think about it.

I have a few sayings, not really life mottos...

1. The further away a weapon keeps you enemy, the better.

2. 'tactical retreats' are VERY useful.

3. Stand and be true (Dark Tower series...mostly just my take on 'please don't be a tofu person')

How does that conflict with whimsy?

In the end, everything works out for the best. Regardless of if it feels that way right now or not.

Simple but I like it. I'm also a fan of "If peace is an illusion let us all be deluded" or something like that.

I also like "No". When you think of the different applications it can have depending on the event in question its quite effective.

Now that is an awesome motto.

And another motto I used to have on MSN....

"You cry, I cry. You laugh, I laugh. You fall out the window, I laugh some more."

"The truth is too important to waste on every fool who asks."

Interpret that as you prefer. How you chose to interpret it says a lot about what you bring to the table. :smallamused:

Truly a show that is legen-wait for it-dary!

Anyway, I kinda have a motto, I use it whenever I need to do something scary or important-

"Upon this rock, I build my church".

It may not mean anything to you, but it means a hell of a lot to me.

These may have been posted... (I have a couple of mottos)

A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals, and you know it.

Life could always be worse.

Oh bugger.

My motto is: 'Don't take me seriously. Ever.'

Or perhaps: 'No matter how tragical or important something is, you should always be able to laugh about things.'

"Try your best. Don't overdo it. Enjoy your life, don't ruin it by locking yourself inside and being anti-social. You only live once, so have the time of your life all your life."

Pretty much means try hard but don't become a study-zombie for the sake of doing better. That's not what life is about.

I have three, one is in my sig. The others:

"When all else fails, when you just can't get through, THROW ME AT IT!!!"

"If it doesn't hurt enough to stop you, YOU aren't hurt enough to stop you."
I pulled a ligament in my knee, and kept right on dancing.

Hrm.. there's so much snark and sarcasm going on over here. I'm kinda disappointed.

*

My motto in life is a relatively simple one.

Back!

Life gets too stressful? Cut back.

Too many commitments? Cut back.

Get angry? Take a step back.

Moving too fast? Look back.

Etc.

"When in doubt, burn them out."

"If it is a job worth doing, it is a job worth dying for"
- 40K

"No matter what the future brings, darkness, light, unity or war, I will be there, fighting the good fight. Who stands with me?"

"The work of a lifetime is made or undone in a matter of hours"

"admitting of ignorance is the first step to learning."
"never forget the past, lest you repeat it. live in the present, lest it pass you by. but reach for the future, and make it yours."
"i haven't failed, i have merely found 1000 ways that don't work"
"wouldn't be a problem, if you had a tank" (as much my catch phrase as a motto, always good for stress, and can't help buy make people laugh at the imagery)
