Is this balanced enough or do I need to change it?

OLD
Master of Mockery

Type: General
Source: Dragon #333

A genius of repartee and quick-witted insults, you can provoke your opponents to leave them too furious to worry about their own safety.
Prerequisite: Perform (comedy) 8 ranks.
Benefit: You may, as a standard action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity, attempt to enrage a single melee opponent by making a Perform (comedy) check. The result of this check represents the DC of the Will save your opponent must make to avoid becoming enraged. Enraged opponents attack you whenever able, ignoring all other targets. They gain a +2 morale bonus on attack rolls against you but take a -2 penalty to Armor Class. This is a mind-affecting, language-dependent effect.
Special: A fighter may select Master of Mockery as one of his fighter bonus feats.

Enraged: An enraged character has to use his actions to deal damage to the comedian; this can be Ranged/Spells/Melee. You can use your move action for whatever you like as long as you deal damage to the comedian.
Special: A fighter may select Master of Mockery as one of his fighter bonus feats.

I would like to use it on a npc, what do you guys think?

I think the round limits pretty much balances it.

What about range? Can you affect anyone that can see/hear you? Or does "melee opponent" means anyone who's threatening you?

Players are more used to the idea of magic forcing them to do something; if you are enchanting them with an Ex ability, you better describe it very convincently that this isn't just a guy throwing a very good joke against them, but someone who mastered manipulating other people's emotions.

Also, getting enranged because of comic provocation can feel very out for character for some. So in some cases you either describe it as something that the affected character never thought he'd do, and/or give a bonus to the Will save for characters who usually act more peacefully.

Your update only improved the feat, and this has a lot of potential.

A good question to ask is how balanced would it be if an NPC used it intelligently on you.

Also, you'll need to clarify the effect a bit. What happens if the target lacks line of sight or otherwise can't deal damage to the Comedian? Can the target use non-damage dealing abilities that target the Comedian? (ie. Hold Person) If the target has no ranged attack, does he have to attempt to close to melee?
