My players have convinced me to use the EotE rules for a Mass Effect tabletop game; of course, in order to get the game rolling as quickly as possible we put together the only rules that are truly needed to start playing: the races. This is actually mostly the work of one of my players, with some cues taken from an old Fantasy Flight Games forum post (http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/87568-mass-effect-conversion/) but he isn't active on these forums so I thought I'd post it and see if there's any critiques about what we have so far.

Also, ignore the derped up table. Can't fix it, maybe after the upgrade. :\

Asari Characteristics

Wound Threshold: 10 + Brawn
Strain Threshold: 11 + Willpower
Starting Experience: 90 XP
Special Abilities: Asari begin the game with one rank in the Charm skill. They still may not train this skill above rank 2 at character creation.
Diverse Lineage: Depending on the species of the Asari’s second parent, one of their characteristics is increased by one:

Turian - Willpower
Salarian - Intellect
Krogan - Brawn
Quarian - Cunning
Drell - Agility
Asari - Presence

Wound Threshold: 10 + Brawn
Strain Threshold: 10 + Willpower
Starting Experience: 100 XP
Special Abilities: Drell start the game with a point in the Athletics and Cool skills. They still may not train these skills above rank 2 at character creation.
Hyoid Throat Bone: Drell can inflate their throats, allowing them to hold their breath for a number of rounds equal to twice their Brawn score.

Strain Threshold: 9 + Willpower
Starting Experience: 90 XP
Special Abilities: Krogan start the game with one rank in the Survival and Brawl skills. They still may not train these skills above rank 2 at character creation.
Blood Rage: If above half of their wound threshold,a Krogan can choose to enter a Blood Rage, increasing their Brawn and Agility by 1, but reducing all other ability scores to 1 until they have a chance to rest or their wounds go back below half of their threshold.
Born Survivors: Krogan gain a boost die on checks to resist adverse environmental conditions.

Starting Experience: 100 XP
Special Abilities: Quarians start the game with one rank in either Computers or Mechanics and one rank in the Utinni (aka Scrounger) talent. (Remove 1 setback die from checks made to find or scavenge items/gear)
Fragile Immune System: Without a suit or with a puncture in their suit, a Quarian treats oxygen as a dangerous atmosphere with a rating of 4 and suffers a setback die to resist Toxins or Disease.
Enviro-Suit: Quarians start the game with a custom enviro-suit that counts as ‘Vacuum-sealed Heavy Clothing’

Special Abilities: Salarians start the game with one rank in the Education and Perception skills. They still may not train these skills above rank 2 at character creation.
High-speed Metabolism: Salarians recover two additional strain at the end of an encounter and only require one hour to recover strain due to tiredness.

Special Abilities: Turians start the game with one rank in the Discipline skill and one rank of the Rapid Reaction talent. (Spend 1 strain to add 1 success to Vigilance/Cool checks to determine initiative order)
