Can't vote for my own, so I'm just doing 1st and 2nd places.

1: Sentinel of the Woods
I chose Sentinel of the Woods because it has a much more contained optimization floor and ceiling. SNA grants level-inappropriate cohorts around ECL 10, but their permanent duration and flexibility give the class the horizontal power it needs. Most of the class features are throwaway utility carbon-copied from the druid (Resist Nature's Lure at ECL 11, woo), but the fortification and NatArmor make up for a low HD. I was hoping to see more involvement with the wild defenders, like extra mobility, more summons, and so on.

This class was just kind of a safe pick. It's not technically or tactically impressive, but it fills a niche that is very important in the D&D-verse and doesn't immediately doom the character choosing it (like the Duelist, Dwarven Defender, or Blighter would).

2: Feragenitor
The feragenitor is an interesting class, but it has a huge optimization ceiling with lots of places for abuse. You can get standard action desecrate to raise undead armies in less than a day, or godlike BFC in the form of acid fog with a 100' fly speed. The optimization floor is also very low, because the monsters scale to 1/3 ECL at most, which means you will never have a decent cohort. Even summon nature's ally at least lets you get CR 10 creatures. If the feragenitor doesn't pour through these looking for abusive combos, he's likely to fall off the radar with a half-casting progression and only meek little animals.

The utility this class can provide is cool, since the cost to make a feral spell is basically non-existent, but the output looks like it could vary wildly and that's not a good thing.
