YOur line width is rather small, compared to the sizes of your figures. Here's a hint: take an OOtS strip, look at it, and try to copy a character of your choice. That should give you some confidence in creaitng avatars

They're not bad, but here are some pointers.
Thicker lines: the second and third ones need much thicker lines. Roughly 2 pixels is good.
Proportions: The head should be as tall as the torso and about twice as wide, IIRC. It's acceptable to go a bit smaller than this (at least, I think so: and my avatar is certainly not following that rule), but your heads - especially on the first one - are too small.Edit: *Shakes fist* Damn simu-ninjas!

Looking good, I think you might want to extend the legs and the rapier blade. Apart from that, the torso could do with being a little shorter.

Looking a lot better though.

Good work. The torso could still be a little shorter, but its much better than the original.

The eyes need some working on, they might look better if the are closer together. Remember to keep your eyes are nice ovals, circles are....bleh. Your cloak/cape would look better if it wasnt a rectangle.

If you follow the guides step by step, i think you should be fine. But remember, it always takes practice.

Each part, 1 by 1

Head: Your hair isn't bad, but the eyes, oh, the eyes. They're killing me man. First, make the head wider. It should be wider than the body entirely. And perfectly circular at the same time. And the eyes should be halfway down the head, just as if you were drawing in a less cartoony style. Most of the top half is hair, but still there.

Torso: Like I said, not as wide as the head. Also, make it shorter. The above-pants area should be about as tall as the head.

Arms: The arms should reach dwon farther, and be thicker. Short sleeves should barely go anywhere on the arm, while long sleeves will cover almost all the arm.

Hands: Think bigger again.

Legs: Longer than that, Much longer. At least 50% longer than you have them.

Feet: Wow, those are WAY too small. Feet should extend past the body, period. They should be about 2.5 times bigger than what you have.

Getting closer. Much closer.

You haven't fixed the hand thing. That is that, really?

Feet. Bigger. You improved a little, but I mean BIGGER.

The torso is still too long.

For the proportions of mr. Burlew's characters, I think lankybugger's thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33471) on using Paint is a good one - read that.

You're definately getting better. The fourth iteration is a great improvement! Now please, look at a strip - pay special attention to the legs. See how long the feet are in relation? Yours are a little too short, and a little too identical. The feet don't need to be at the exact same level, and pointing in the exact same direction. A different angle on each adds to a dynamic pose.

Also, use a thicker line for the arms, and make them longer.

nothin wrong, you just need practice.

Try a little more contrast in the colors. If you're using all black for outlining, make the brown or green lighter or the belt lighter so you can get more definition in the clothing. :)
