Skills: Hide 6 ranks, Intimidate 8 ranks, Knowledge: Religion 4 ranks, Move Silently 6 ranks
Special: Sneak Attack ability or Sudden Strike ability
Special: Membership in the Order of the Black Gauntlet
Special: Must possess a spiked gauntlet of at least masterwork quality.

HD: d8 Base Attack Bonus: +1 Favored Saving Throws: Reflex and Will

Conviction: Members of the Order of the Black Gauntlet gain a bonus against Enchantment spells equal to their prestige class level.


Fist of the Black Lord: Members of the Order of the Black Gauntlet gain Stunning Fist as a bonus feat, and levels in this prestige class count as monk levels for the purposes of that feat.


Ghost Step: Starting at 1st level, members of the Order of the Black Gauntlet may use Ghost Step to become invisible for 1 round. This is a swift action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity. Starting at 6th level, they may become ethereal instead of invisible when using Ghost Step.




Frightful Attack: Once per day starting at 3rd level (2/day at 6th level, 3/day at 9th level), members of the Order of the Black Gauntlet may designate a melee attack against a foe denied his DEX bonus to AC as a Frightful Attack. This attack must be made using his spiked gauntlet; it will not function with another weapon. He must also use the Power Attack feat on this attack, taking at least a -1 to his attack roll. During this melee attack, the Black Gauntlet’s eyes burn with dark power, and his spiked gauntlet becomes a +1 flaming weapon, trailing flames of blood-red fire. If this attack deals damage to the target, the target must make a Will save (DC = 10 + Black Gauntlet level + the Black Gauntlet’s WIS modifier). If this save succeeds, the target suffers the effects of a normal sudden strike and/or sneak attack and also becomes shaken for 1 round per Black Gauntlet level. If the target fails the save, he instantly dies of fright. Creatures immune to mind-affecting effects, immune to fear, or with more Hit Dice than the Black Gauntlet are not affected by a Frightful Attack.
In addition, all creatures within 30’ that witness the Frightful Attack (excluding the victim of the Frightful Attack, the Black Gauntlet himself, and the Black Gauntlet’s allies) must make Will saves against the same DC or become shaken (if their Hit Dice are more than or equal to the Black Gauntlet) or panicked (if their Hit Dice are less than the Black Gauntlet) for 1 round per Black Gauntlet level.
