Trusted Illusionist

You can choose to reward your friends trust with the truth or use it to bypass their defences.

Prerequisite
Caster Level 11.
Must have unintentionally harmed an friend with an illusion spell.

Benefit

When you cast a illusion spell or spell-like and an onlooker normally would be allowed a save to recognize the effect as illusionary you can choose whether the target fails or succeed the saving throw if that onlooker has a attitude of friendly towards you.

Normal

You can't choose whether or not a target fails it's save.

Prerequisite
Caster Level 11. Able to cast at least 3 illusions spells and at least one of third level.

It's a bit much. Perhaps modify the DC for friendly observers, either increased or decreased by a specific amount.

First off, the Prerequisite is horrible. Caster level 11? That is very high for a feat that does not do that much. It should be more like Cha 11+ Illusion specialist or school focus(illusion); or any gnome .

Second, just dump the whole save thing. Just make it, any target friendly to you is unaffected by any illusion you cast. Much more simple.

And it changes how the feat (and your spells) work entirely. The current version allows you to make friendly targets fail or succeed on saves related to recognizing an illusion automatically. The version you propose allows friendlies to ignore your illusion spells entirely, no choice involved. Different functions, not a simplification of the feat above.

I think the illusion spell prerequisite is somewhat redundant. If you're an 11th-level caster who's taking a feat that only affects your illusion spells, you better have a lot of illusions. I'm pretty sure a wizard can get by with three illusions by level 3-5 (ghost sound, color spray, disguise self, silent image, blur, invisibility, and mirror image are all pretty solid 0-2nd-level illusion spells), without breaking a sweat, much less level 11 (at which point, if you don't have three illusion spells, you probably banned it or are very focused on other things...which goes back to my original point).

It might bee to much. What do you propose?

jedipotter I don't think you completely understand what I mean by the feat. Now it has been pointed out what would you suggest would be a better wording?
I don't think CL 11 is too high for the power-level this feat currently is bringing.

You might be right. I just felt that the only prereq being CL 11 wasn't flavorful enough. What would you propose as an alternative?
Also I didn't want it to only be available to wizards.

Not sure. Maybe something along the lines of having accidentally harmed a friendly person in the past with an illusion?

I didn't think so. Wizards are just the most common illusion users (other than bards and beguilers, maybe) so I used them as an example.

That's a great idea.
