Yep...

DnD doesn't have stats for the most beautiful creature in existance.. so I made my own :)

Yes!

I've been pondering what stats to use for these beasties for ages.

Llamas rock! (and climb them)
hmmm ... but they aren't very big or as fiesty as horses. I would have given them 2HD instead. (my 2 cents)

I'd say they were more fiesty - at least they should have more constitution/endurance, or something. I've always used the rules for mules + a spit rule.

What sort of spit rule do you use? I was thinking something along the lines of "target blinded for one round" or something like that.

I was goign to do that, but you need to hit him in the eye to have that effect I'd suppose.

So what? Critical hit deems blindness for one round? Would make it... weirdly weak

As far as I know, lama's specifically target the eyes. I think I'd use something of a reflex safe to avoid the spit hitting your eyes.

Gave a 1d10 chance of spit hitting the eye
AND
Added a headbutt on charge (Since its what they do in real life)

SHouldn't there be an opposed strength check to avoid getting toppled when hit by the headbutt? Perhaps ending up prone?

Good point.. basically a trip attack similar to what the wolf has... *changes*

Yes, we need more real creatures stat-ed out for D&D I have done skunks, and somewhere I have otters(but those aren't complete)... Porcupines would be pretty easy if anyone took the time.

I can honestly say that as the only person I know that has been vomitted on by a llama, I have a distinct appreciation for their combat prowess. I'd add a spitting attack (trust me, they have one!), as well as a CR, but so far, so good.
