Does anyone have any particular tattoo that their inner fan of all things fantasy or sci-fi had to have placed on the skin?

I actually have chest piece of the Litch from Adventure Time and runes saying "Aren't you cold?" I also plan on getting a 'rebel scum' tattoo the shop I go to fancies doing on May 5th.

Not mine, but a friend has the Holy Avenger from the D&D 3.X DMG on one shoulder.

A friend of mine was gonna get the classic "Mom heart with arrow through it" tattoo on the back of her shoulder, but with the sash saying "Wesley Crusher." At the last minute she thought better of it, by which I mean she realized that her Star Trek tattoo should be fully sincere, and changed the name to "Jean-Luc Picard."

Did she show the artist what to do, then say, "Make it so."?

Knowing her, there is a strong possibility that she did indeed say that.

I have plans for the remainder of The Endless, as well as The Dark Sign & Sir Artorias of The Abyss (from Dark Souls), Thanatos from Persona 4, stuff from Hellboy, The Goon, and Locke & Key. Eventually.

Cool tatts, though I do believe Thanatos is from Persona 3 XD The main character 'special' persona was Izanagi-no-Okami

Sorry, I should have elaborated. He's in the Persona 4 subseries of games (P4, P4:Golden, P4:Arena, P4: Arena Ultimax, Persona Q), not Persona 4 specifically. The rendition I'm looking to get comes from P4:Arena.

I have one, would have more if I had the money. Got it in 2002:

JabberwockySupafly, that's some pretty awesome ink! A good friend of mine has tons of, all nerdy. Highlights are the old D&D ampersand on his calf and the various tiny symbols from Clive Barker's Imagica all over his right bicep.

Tell me that you have at least once said "I am the One Ring" in a Batman voice.

My avatar is a tattoo I seriously considered getting on my leg as an homage to Sailor Moon. The amount of ink needed to do it kind of scared me out of it, though, and part of me regrets not getting it.

You are officially awesome.

My friend wanted her tattoo to be significant, so she got one that says "P < 0.005"

There's Chribba from Eve Online who got a Veldspar tattoo (an ore in the game):

I don't have any tattoos, but I did once meet a guy (friend of a friend) who had the original Thundercats tattooed on his lower leg, with Lion-O holding up the sword of Omens to project the Eye of Thundera onto his knee.

If I ever get a tattoo (unlikely), it would probably be something suitably dramatic and pompous, and be in latin of course (because I have a fairly deep streak of romanticism and I like pompous and overblown stuff). The house Martell motto from SOIF would be fairly appropriate. From a quick search on latin translation forums (man I love the Internet) it would seem that the literal translation would be : Nec demissus, nec flexus, nec fractus, but I prefer a slight variation, Inflexibilis, Infrenus, Infragilis (unbendable, unbridled, unbreakable), it sounds better.

Not really sci-fi/fantasy but definitely nerdy: I'm getting a band around my arm that's the equation "p+q=1=p2+2pq+q2=1 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardy%E2%80%93Weinberg_principle)" (looping around with another equals sign connecting the two sides).

I have the Triforce on the back of my neck.

Need to get it touched up a bit but hesitant to do so due to, well, it <beep>ing hurts when they jam the needle into your vertebrae. Also want to get the master sword added on to it at some point (like this (http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/108/3/8/triforce_and_master_sword_by_mickyfoley-d4wmwdc.png) but a better rendering of the sword)

Do you have a picture of it, Antonok? I'm obviously in favor of Zelda tattoos  If there ever comes a point where I no longer need a day job, I'd love a triforce on the back of my hand...

I do not. Its hard to take a picture of it myself, and I tend to run from anyone with a camera (there is exactly 3 pictures of me from the last 10 years in existence lol).

I'll see about getting one here soonish if I can/remember about it.

I was thinking about getting a zipper down the surgery scar along my spine after they had to open me back up once already. I suppose it's a good think I have minimal sensation back there for once. :smalltongue:

It's nothing elaborate, but I've got the Comedian's bloodied smiley from Watchmen tattooed on my collarbone.

I have my favorite dice set tattooed on my forearm. Not so nerdy, but my back is good v evil fantasy, with a red dragon representing myself. I have a griffon on my chest and want a nightmare on the other side.

Question for folk who have tats on their ankles: Should I wait to get mine in the spring when I'm no longer wearing socks, or does that not matter at all?

This reminds me of the heavily stylized benzene ring I was vaguely thinking of getting, before I decided against it.
Also, you know you want the Hardy Weinberg equation for tetraploid organisms. It's the best.

I'd have to get it with a superimposed ouroboros.

I'd been thinking about that if it doesn't stretch all the way around without being too big. (I haven't found a font I actually like that doesn't cost multiple hundreds of dollars.) It's either that or the expanded version for more than two alleles.

So, not exactly sure if this falls under the thread necromancy laws... I guess kind of but I thought it was better than making a new thread if we have a (rarely used) one for it? If I should make a new thread, sorry in advance, dear mod(s).

Anyway, I just wanted to show off because in the end I'm pretty happy with how my first tattoo turned out :smalltongue: I'm not sure if I'll get another because this one took pretty long and wasn't really fun but I hope I'll not lose that arm any time soon or something.

Terry Pratchett's coat of arms, right? Very nice indeed.

It seems to be healing up nicely.

I also have a tattoo, although I wouldn't call it nerdy per se.

If a phrase like "wouldn't call it nerdy per se" is necessary, I'm pretty sure it will qualify. If you want to share it, here's the thread.

Yes it is  Also, it's actually about a month old already. I have one where it's still fresher but yes, it seems mostly okay. It's still a bit itchy but I think that's the hair growing back.

Also: What Knaight said. Share it, I don't think the "nerdy" is required.

(Also, probably not so nerdy, I have a type writer on my shoulder, and an illustration from Shell Silverstein's "where the sidewalk ends" on my under-arm, near my arm pit.(Can you guess which internet music star I ripped that off of?))
