Soulforged Body [Warforged]
As a warforged, your body can be crafted using trace amounts of essentia-infused jewels, providing you with increased affinity to the Incarnum and the ability infuse greater amounts essentia in your body. Warforged with this feat are often refered to as Soulforged
Prerequisites: Warforged, 1st Level Only
Benefits: Your essentia pool is permanently increased by 1. If you do not have an essentia pool, you gain one with a single point of essentia.
As you gain experience, you can attune the jewels infused in your body to the essentia of the Incarnum. You can treat your body as a incarnum focus. You may increase the Essentia capacity of any soulmeld by 1 per two character levels (up to a maximum capacity equal to the wearer's Constitution bonus). This does not prevent you from binding a soulmeld to the corresponding chakra. This is a specific exception to the normal rule aganst binding a soulmeld to the same chakra as a worn magic item. You may only increase the capacity of any soulmeld by 1, but may increase the capacity of any number of soulmelds. Unlike an incarnum focus you may not bind the focus to a chakra.
Your are not counted as wearing armor, even with your Composite plating, for the purposes of shaping or binding a soulmeld to your Soul chakra.
Special: Unlike most feats, this feat must be taken at 1st level, during character creation.

Soulforged
"I do not need to wonder if I possess a soul, for I know that I do. My very being is evidence to that fact." Azure, soulforged and Incandescent Champion

Much like the engimatic arrival of the Psiforged, the new apperance of a small number of Warforged innately linked to the magic of the Incarnum. Among the few that know of their existance, a number of theories on their appearance have been presented, from the obvious conclusion that a secret forge is producing them to theories that there are links to the raw Incarnum in the Mournlands that are giving rise to this new group. Indeed, stories of Warforged entering the Mournlands, and leaving with the ability to access the power of the Incarnum abound, though these share some fundimental differences to the Soulforged who seem to have been built with the link. Still, the very existance of this new varient is relatively unknown, with most estimations putting total existing Soulforged in the low to mid hundreds.

Soulforged Racial Traits
Soulforged seem to be created much like any other warforged, sparing the essentia infused jewels present in, and on, their bodies. In truth, however, soulforged are simply warforged who have taken the Psiforged Body feat at 1st level. The jewels that resonate in their boies as a result of taking this feat help the soulforged focus the link between the Incarnum and all living creatures. Other soulforged are simply warforged who have taken levels in a meldshaping class, most often after traveling through the Mournlands. Much like their psionic brethren, the Psiforged, Merric D'cannith claims to have had nothing to do with their creation. Unlike the Psiforged, however, it appears that he may very well have been telling the truth. Thus, the true origin of these new soulforged remains a mystery.

Like any other warforged, soulforged look like humanoids molded from a number of materials, suchas obsidian, iron, stone, darkwood, silver, and organic matter. The differ from other warforged in that they have also been created with a number of azure jewels in, and on, their bodies. However, even this is not a universal, only representing warforged who where created with the link, instead of one being established later on. The one trait that is universal to soulfroged is their eyes: radiant sapphire spheres that glow with the power of the incarnum.

Soulforged are like all other warforged in that they lack a physical distiniction of gender, possessing a sexless body shape. Much like psiforged, however, a soulforged is almost certain to adopt a specific gender as their own, following the behaviors and customs that exist in whatever local culture they have made their home. However, a large number of soulforged take up the mantle of adventurers, attempting to strengthen their bond to the incarnum and prove their race does indeed possess a soul.

The construction of the soulforged means that they do not age naturally, thought they may still fall victim to the decay of time as their bond with the incarnum grows with time. With proper care, however, a soulforged is effectively immortal.

Soulforged Society
Due to the rare-nature of the soulforged, they are essentially forced to integrate into other cultures. However, much like their psiforged brethren, their need for individuality sets them apart. However, they still are note a wholy unique race, essentially sharing most of there characteristics with the basic warforged they are derived from.

Alignment: Unlike both warforged and psiforged, the soulforged are more likely to favor an specialized alignment. They are more often good or chaotic then evil or lawful, though a handful of soulforged have tapped into the necrocarnum, chosing a path of evil as a result. Regardless, the soulforged are very adamant about their alignments, applying them in almost every facet of their life.

Lands: Soulforged first emerged from the Mournland, and that is the only place they are appearing from at this time. Much like the psiforged, the fact that they where not mass produced for the Last War, they are not likely to be found within the large amount of warforged slaves or indentured servants in THrane or Karrnath, though a large number of them have become activists in seccuring the release of these slaves. They often are known to lead groups of warforged into the Mournlands, often never being seen again. Some that do return, however, do so with more soulforged in toe, the same warforged they led into the lands now empowered by the incarnum. A few evil soulforged may have joined with the Lord of Blades, but if this is so isn't known for sure at this time.

Settlements: Unlike most warforged, the soulforged choose more often then other races to start settlements of their own, often composed of a single charismatic soulforged leader at the head of a group of Warforged, and perhaps a handful of other soulforged and psiforged. However, these settlements are relatively rare, with the majority of soulforged adopting cities or towns as their home, if they don't choose to become adventurers instead.

Power Groups: Although the majority of soulforged don't feel a desire to lead, a select few do collect up other warforged and set out to create their own settlements. They also might fall into this role due to their affinity towards freeing oppressed warforged. They aren't known to side with the Lord of Blades readily, desiring true freedom for their brothers often, but not at the extermination of other living races.

Beliefs: A soulforged is far more likely to choose to persue religion then ohter warforged due to the more ingrained certainty they have of their own souls. However, more often still is their choice to follow more abstract concepts instead of organized religion, such as good and personal freedom. In addition, their innate connection to the incarnum lends itself to this idea, with a fair majority of soulforged taking the path of the Soulborn. They often use their connection to the Incarnum as evidence to their warforged comrades that they too have a soul, just like all living creatures, and as a result they are on unfriendly terms with those who would perfer to keep the warforged under control as possesions, instead of beings.

Relations: Soulforged choose to seek out other races, much like the psiforged, in an attempt to understand their feelings towards the warforged race as a whole and gain acceptance. In addition, they often will speak out for the warforged, some choosing to more 'lawful' means of freeing their brothers outside of direct force. Thus the fundimental difference in how psiforged and soulforged relate to other species is in the intent. While psiforged simply seek understanding, soulforged actively strive for acceptance, though they are often hard pressed to recieve it. Soulforged realtions are as strained as other warforged, and their small numbers often keeps them from making great strides to change this.

Soulforged Encounters
The statistic blocks presented below can be used to represent encounters with NPC soulforged. Soulforged might also be found with other warforged or within adventuring parties.

EL 3: A soulforged soulborn
EL 5: A patrol of two soulforged soulborn.
EL 7: A soulforged incarnate with two soulforged soulborn.
EL 14: Azure, the Incandescent Champion.
EL 14: Scythe, the Necrocarnate.

Notes:
This is a work in progress, and I plan on writing up a bit of fluff about both Azure and Scythe, due to my own liking of this idea as a whole. I might even write up a bit of an adventure hook involving both of them. The idea itself comes from the fact I've always been a big fan of both the Magic of Incarnum and warforged since I saw them. Combining them togeather seemed so natural. Much of the general concept of a specialized varient of warforged comes from Magic of Eberron, with the Psiforged, as well. I also plan to do some things with a Warforged demigod called the Bondforger and a warforged-specific Tome of Battle prestige class called the Mithral Champion.
