FINISH YOUR GAME! (http://www.gamasutra.com/blogs/RosstinMurphy/20150224/237145/FINISH_YOUR_GAME.php)

I wrote this to apply to indie gamedev projects but I feel that it applies to campaigns as well. I'd like to write an article about how to scope your DnD campaign so that you conclude a major story arc in only ten sessions, equivalent to a completed TV Show.

Also applies to creative writing, including homebrew designs. Bang out the first draft, and then start improving on that is fairly decent advice in general, really.

This is good. Past a certain point in a game's development, the issue seems to be not having with ideas, but having too many ideas. Eventually, you need to settle on a concrete vision.

Then there is the writers point of view, where you start out with ideas but they change and evolve as you write. At least that's what happens to me. A lot of what I write is never exactly how I imagined it.
