I want to help design a world for a campaign setting that deals with unique insectoid races.
Anyone interested in helping out a bit?
I will note that I wish to keep this as close to original as possible, so I'm leaning heavily away from borrowing too much from previous insect races like the Thri-Kreen and Dromite.

Here's what I have so far...

I would dump the Mantis folk, as you've stated that you want to avoid borrowing too much from the Thri-Kreen. Yet the description you've given sounds a lot like the thri-kreen, not to mention the Thri-Kreen are known as Mantis Warriors.

How about replacing them with Katydid folk, Beetle-folk, Fly-folk, Parasitic Wasp folk, Cicada-folk or others?

I thought about flyfolk and beetlefolk, but I really like the mantisfolk. It saddens me to consider it .
what is a katydid?

Katydids are also known as bush crickets. Many of them are pretty aggressive hunters that have spines on their hind legs and forelegs, and powerful jumping abilities.

Doesn't quite fit the fluff of what you want, but you might want to import my hivemind mechanic.

Well, they all seem fairly weak for PF races, which generally have a net +2 to stats.

Centipede seem odd, Large races generally don't get +Dex.

Honestly, these look like they could be 3 races (one for each size) with a series of variants (similar to Pathfinder's Tieflings, Aasimar, and Dhampir)
