So I've been playing Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced recently and with March Martial Madness coming to a close I wanted to add at least one more Prestige Class and it seemed like its Fighter Job could make a fun, and easy, thing to convert into a 3.5 Prestige Class.

So without further ado:

FFTA Fighter

A fighter is a skilled swordsman, learned in both mundane and supernatural swordplay. Using special fighter techniques they do not rely upon the sacred powers of a paladin or templar, needing only their own muscle and Ki.

Becoming a (FFTA) Fighter

Becoming a fighter is usually a matter of expanding upon one's already extant base of knowledge of swordplay and mundane combat, and simply focusing your bladeskill along a certain path.

Prerequisites:
BAB: +5.
Feats: Power Attack, Weapon Focus (any sword).
Weapon Proficiencies: Proficient in at least 3 martial or exotic swords.
Special: One of: Weapon Specialization (any sword), Rage 2/day, Bulwark of Defense (Knight PHBII ability), Kiai Smite (Samurai CWar ability) 1/day, or Insightful Strike (Swashbuckler CWar ability).

Class Skills
The (FFTA) fighter’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Balance (Dex), Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Intimidate (Cha), Jump (Str), Listen (Wis), Ride (Dex), Spot (Wis), Survival (Wis), Swim (Str), and Tumble (Dex).
Skill points per level: 4 + Int modifier.

Hit Dice: d10.

Weapon and Armor Proficiencies: A FFTA Fighter gains proficiency in all martial swords and light and medium armor (if they were not already).

Fighter's Prowess: An FFTA Fighter hits hard, adding a bonus to their melee damage equal to their class level.

Fighter Techniques: A FFTA Fighter learns many special Fighter Techniques. These techniques may be applied to each melee attack they make as part of an attack or full attack action, but may not use them on Attacks of Opportunity, martial Strikes, or any attack that they channel a spell through. A Fighter need not apply the same Fighter Technique to all their attacks in a round, and may even add different techniques to different attacks.

Blitz (Ex): The first fighter technique an FFTA fighter learns is Blitz. When a FFTA fighter uses Blitz it cancels the effect of Power Attack on that attack and the FFTA fighter may subtract an amount from their damage, up to the lower of their BAB or the bonus granted to them from Fighter's Prowess and their Strength modifier, and add the same amount as a bonus to their attack roll.

Rush (Ex): At 2nd level an FFTA Fighter learns Rush. If the fighter uses this technique and hits an opponent the opponent must make an opposed Strength check against the fighter or be pushed 5-ft away from the fighter. This opposed check uses all the modifiers that would be applied if the FFTA fighter was attempting to bull rush the opponent, but the FFTA fighter gains an additional bonus equal to 1/2 their BAB.

Backdraft (Su): At 3rd level an FFTA Fighter learns Backdraft. If the fighter uses this technique their weapon bursts with fire and they add fire damage to the attack equal to their BAB or twice their FFTA Fighter level (whichever is higher), but take that much fire damage themselves.

Air Render (Su): At 4th level an FFTA Fighter learns Air Render. If the fighter uses this technique their weapon cuts the air itself striking at their foe from a distance. When using this technique the fighter treats their melee reach as 10-ft per FFTA Fighter level.

Beatdown (Ex): At 6th level an FFTA Fighter learns Beatdown. If the fighter uses this technique Power Attack is improved for the modified attack, granting +2 damage per point of sacrificed attack bonus for Light weapons (instead of being non-functional) and +4 damage per point of sacrificed attack bonus for one or two handed weapons. If the Fighter sacrificed something other than attack bonus to Power Attack (such as when using the Shock Trooper feat) they instead gain only +1 damage per point sacrificed with a Light weapon or +3 per point sacrificed for one or two handed weapons.

Air Blast (Su): At 7th level an FFTA Fighter learns Air Blast. When they use this technique they strike the air with such fury that it creates a torrential gust which cuts through creatures in its way. When an FFTA Fighter uses this ability they may make their melee attack in a 20-ft cone dealing their regular damage to each creature within the cone. They only roll their attack roll once, but apply the results to each creature within the area; an FFTA Fighter may not score critical hits when using this technique.

Wild Swing (Ex): At 8th level an FFTA Fighter learns Wild Swing. When a fighter uses this technique they spin about attacking each enemy within reach. When an FFTA Fighter uses this ability they may make an attack on any number of creatures within their melee reach instead of one target. They roll separately for each target.

Far Fist (Su): At 9th level an FFTA Fighter learns their final technique Far Fist. When they use this technique they strike out extending their Ki so that it explodes furiously at a point of their choosing. When an FFTA Fighter uses this ability they may make their melee attack in a 20-ft radius burst within 15-ft per FFTA Fighter level dealing 3/4 their regular damage to each creature within the area. They only roll their attack roll once, but apply the results to each creature within the area; an FFTA Fighter may not score critical hits when using this technique.

Doublehand (Ex): A fighter learns how to put the full strength of their arm behind their weapons. Beginning at 2nd level if a fighter uses a 1-handed weapon two-handed it deals damage as if a size category larger.

Bonecrusher (Ex): Beginning at 5th level if an FFTA Fighter is damaged by a creature they may make an Attack of Opportunity against that creature dealing +5 damage if they hit. An FFTA fighter may not use this ability if they already made an attack of opportunity in response to the attack.

Strikeback (Ex): Beginning at 10th level an FFTA Fighter may strike a foe preemptively when they go to strike the fighter. When a creature makes a melee attack against the fighter, other than an attack of opportunity, it provokes an attack of opportunity from the fighter. If the fighter hits the target that target suffers a -5 penalty to the triggering attack. This ability may not be used in response to Martial Strikes, attacks modified with Fighter Techniques, or channeling a spell.
