I was wondering how long was the longest game session anyone has played in was?

The longest my group has ever played was 14 hours nonstop
exept to use the bathroom.
We had all the food we needed with in 20ft and the bathroom was like 15 foot away.
We started around 6:00 one saturday and didn't stop until everyone passed out around 8:30 the next morring.
None of this would have happened without our 18 pack of RedBull tho.

This spring break, I ran all 10 of my players for five days straight, with a 2 1/2 hour break for someone to go home and cut their grass. We did sleep, but they were very short sessions. Like, 4 hours tops. We also blew a combined total of like, $300 on pizza.

Ah, memories.

My record's ten hours uninterrupted; it was the night of my birthday and my players were supposed to fight the BBEG. ....only they ran away, got completely split up, and I had to spend the rest of the session a. fixing my poor broken brain ("You just did WHAT?!") and b. catching them. I envy people whose fellow players actually have stamina; mine tend to poop out around that time.

Except one of them... who managed to run a ten-hour offstage sidechat with me via AIM. We lost track of time, I swear...

My group tends to have much shorter sessions than I'd like. I think the longest we've ever gone is...about 5 hours, including all the downtime.

I'm pretty sure

that is my paradise.

And my longest session was about 8 and a half hours straight. About half an hour of that was food, but everything else was pure gaming.

Not sure. Something in excess of twelve hours, but more usually we play for 6-8.

I and two others played for about 30 hours straight at one point. No, I lie. We slept for about an hour of that so our brains didn't die of fatigue. Was fun, ran the oldschool Caves of Chaos module.

Two years ago, our group played for 68 hours straight, at which point one of our members started having mild hallucinations from sleep deprivation. We had started the session besieging an unfriendly fortress, stormed the castle, killed the BBEG, then held the castle against the reinforcements in order to extract a MacGuffin plot item. The only reason we got that far was from unholy amounts of caffine, sugar, and the adrenaline of battle.

This last weekend, we played from noon to 4:30 A.M. on Saturday

It was fun but definitely not an every week occurrence.

Sadly we played from 3-8P.M. on Sunday as well.

That's what college is for I guess.

I kind of can't wait till I get to college so i can have these awesome sessions. Or at least till I'm in high school and I actually have friends that are interested.

Being thirteen, in a small town in which I am the ONLY person that knows about dnd is awful.

At least I have two friends that play. But getting together is hard.

Well, more time to spend on your studies! (or reading up on game theory...)

Have you considered joining a club or searching out one at the nearest game store? Joining a gaming club was one of the best things I did when I was about your age.

or start your own club, I got a group of 3 to a group of 20 in like 2 months granted about 15 of them refused to learn the rules and depended on others for everything, but its better than nothing

I did a couple of sponsored 25 hours game back in uni. Good times.

In fact that's where my thief, Ian Competent, featured in "The Stew of Ultimate Evil", named for an in-game quote of mine after we were attacked by things leaping from a cauldron of food.

we have had 12-hours sessions, but truth be told: our sessions tend to be better then we stop playing after 6 hours or so.

Back in high school, I overdosed on caffeine pills - got really freakin' sick... can't eat peanut butter ice cream to this day.. but I digress. Was a three day weekend, but we played only until Sunday morning (started Friday afternoon) - I slept completely through Monday...

Now, nearly 20 years later, I can manage a 7pm - 3am game about once a month. Typical session for my Friday game is 7pm - 11 or midnight, and for the Saturday game is 6pm to 10pm - though last week we went to 1am (fought the BBEG and his 3000 orc army.)

I'd do better, I'm sure, if I didn't chronically go to bed at 11pm and get up at 5:30am - regardless of what day it is. /sigh
