Hey there everyone, this here is my first homebrewed race and has not been subject to any play testing. Initially it was designed to be a bit more 'mutant', but that fell through and I feel like it's become a little more generic now. But I still like it overall, and any feedback would be greatly appreciated as this has not yet been integrated into our game, meaning many of the features are still receptive to change. Thanks in advance. (Also the flavour text might be a little bland, the Google Doc I'm using has some juicier stuff, but I figured that might make the post a little too long.)

Gorebreed
Gorebreed are a foul race, bred from the depths through the union of Demons, Devils and at times, Celestials. They are seen as weird, obscure creatures, and often their parents are persecuted for the creation of such an ill being. Their bodies are strange and malformed, typically smothered in defects.

Gorebreed Traits
Your Gorebreed character has a variety of specialist abilities, due to their nature.

Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 2.

Age. Gorebreed typically mature into full “adults” at the age of 10, and they live until their 60s, although many die earlier than this due to a variety of genetic defects.

Alignment. Almost all Gorebreed tend towards Evil, and it is extremely rare for this to be found otherwise. Devilscion are typically Lawful, Doomprogeny being generally Neutral and Demonborne are usually Chaotic, although due to the nature of their disruptive adobes, this may vary.

Size. Gorebreed stand far over 6 feet and average over 220 pounds . Your size is medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Superior Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 120 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Fiendish Oddity. You are considered to be a Fiend (Both mechanically (Therefore gaining all the advantages/disadvantages of fiends) and for flavour), but of an obscure lineage. As a result you are immune to disease. You also do not need to eat or breathe, but you can ingest food and drink if you wish. Instead of sleeping, you enter a dreamlike state for 4 hours each day. Although, you are fully aware of your surroundings in this state and notice approaching enemies and other events as normal.

Tormented Mind. You have advantage on saves against Charm and Fear, as well as immunity to effects that cause you to fall asleep.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common.

Subrace. Three main subraces of Gorebreed populate the worlds of D&D: Devilscion, Doomprogeny and Demonborne. Choose one of these subraces.

(Flavour text will be very basic, don't worry, it's going to be more fleshed out later)
Devilscion
Born having genetics mostly from their Devil parent. Typically varying in shades of red, with medium sized horns protruding from their forehead.

Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score increases by 1.

Beguiling Grin. You have proficiency in the Persuasion skill.

Arcane Trickery. You know the Prestidigitation cantrip.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Infernal in addition to Common.

Doomprogeny
Born from the forbidden union between a Celestial and Fiend. Typically varying in skin tone from charcoal black to pure white and any of the greys between, with small wing-like structures on their back (Although these are not mobile and therefore cannot be used to fly) and a pair of vestigal horns extending from their head.

Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 1.

Illusory Grin. You have proficiency in the Deception skill.

Graceful Movement. Your base walking speed increases to 35 feet.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Celestial in addition to Common.

Demonborne
Born with their blood dominantly being of their demon parent. Typically ranging from green, black and brown in skin tone. A large pair of goat-like horns shoot from their head, and their skin is sometimes blotched with small patches of black, grey or brown fur.

Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 1.

Menacing Grin. You have proficiency in the Intimidation skill.

Disturbing Arcana. You know the Thaumaturgy cantrip.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Abyssal in addition to Common.

Seems good, but Devilscion gains profiency in persuasion. I don't get that, because the description says he has horns and shades of red on his body. I think he should get proficiency in Intimidation or something, because if I was a shopkeeper, I would be scared of someone with HORNS.

But, I really like your race!

Thanks for the feedback! I guess I envisioned the Devilscion to be a kind of 'I know what your vices are, and I know what your really want, so I'm gonna use those against you' kinda guy. Perhaps to negate their terrifying appearance, they might gain an ability which allows for their horns to retreat back and for their form to appear slightly less horrifying. Although, in order for them not to disguise their true identity, something would certainly remain a little off about them to distinguish them as some form of Devilscion (If anyone questions them, perhaps they could use the excuse that a birth defect causes them to appear more normal?)... I'm really not sure how to negate this though, as someone might see them change form etc.

Thankyou again for the feedback though, I'll definitely take this into account when they're integrated into our game.
