The massive hunting cat before you is a large creature, almost the size of large tiger. Itís coat is resplendent with the rosettes and markings of the leopard, but itís heavy fur is obviously well acclimated to the fellfrost.

Silently watching and waiting within the cold confines of the ever-frost, frost leopards stand as vigilant vanguards against evil, in its many and varied forms. Few have seen these silent warriors, except those who do not live long enough to spread the tale.
http://www.geocities.com/trebane2/pez/indent.gifIn appearance, the frost leopard is strikingly different from the common leopard. Although it has similar rosettes and broken-spot markings, they appear less well defined and are spaced further apart. The fur is long and woolly and helps protect the cat from the extreme cold of its generally mountainous habitat.
http://www.geocities.com/trebane2/pez/indent.gifThe general ground coloration of the cat is predominantly gray with brownish/yellow tinges on its flanks and lighter, often white fur on its belly, chest and chin. Frost leopards are substantially larger then their non-magical kin, with a length of about 9 ft, and standing about 5 1/2 ft at the shoulder. The long tail, which can measure as much as three feet, helps the cat balance as it moves over rugged and often snowy terrain. The powerful limbs of the frost leopard are relatively short for its body size and are supported by large, powerful paws.

RELATIONS
Frost leopards are enemies of evil frostfell creatures, but above all else they despise winter wolves and frost giants. While solitary by nature, multiple frost leopards might form a pride for the express purpose of slaying a pack of winter wolves or a cabal of frost giants.
http://www.geocities.com/trebane2/pez/indent.gifA single leopard will treat all invaders within its territory first with suspicion and distrust. All aliens to the region are scouted and weighed before the hunting cat ever makes its presence felt.
http://www.geocities.com/trebane2/pez/indent.gifIf the frost leopard feels an intruder is no threat, the cat will most likely ignore it. Only if the intruder is a potential threat, or outright evil, will the leopard begin to plan an appropriate assault. Against winter wolves and other evil monsters of the frostfell the frost leopard will leave dire warning and markings in the snow, on trees, or even deeply scored into the earth, ďLeave or die.Ē

COMBAT
Frost leopards hunt by themselves, observing their prey quietly for hours until it deems the perfect moment to strike. They never stay to engage, but strike quickly and move away, forcing the prey to use its resources to either pursue, escape, or heal. If two leopards are working in tandem, they will attack and break off in an unpredictable sequence, in order to keep their prey unbalanced.
http://www.geocities.com/trebane2/pez/indent.gifEyes of Judgement (Su): A frost leopard can immediately judge the evil in a creatureís heart with but a glance. This ability functions in a similar fashion as the spell detect evil, except it is line of sight and has a range limit equal to the frost leopardís maximum sight distance.
http://www.geocities.com/trebane2/pez/indent.gifFrost Weapons (Su): All of a frost leopardís natural weapons are treated as frost weapons, dealing an extra 1d6 points of cold damage.
http://www.geocities.com/trebane2/pez/indent.gifImproved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, a frost leopard must hit with its bite attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action, without provoking an attack of opportunity. If it wins the grapple check, it establishes a hold and can rake.
http://www.geocities.com/trebane2/pez/indent.gifPounce (Ex): If a frost leopard charges a foe, it can make a full attack, including two rake attacks.
http://www.geocities.com/trebane2/pez/indent.gifRake (Ex): Attack bonus +7 melee, damage 1d6+2 plus 1d6 cold.
http://www.geocities.com/trebane2/pez/indent.gifSkills: Frost leopards have a +10 racial bonus on Jump checks and a +8 racial bonus on Hide and Move Silently checks. The bonus to Hide checks increases to +12 in areas of deep snow or ice.
http://www.geocities.com/trebane2/pez/indent.gifFrost leopards have a +10 racial bonus on Balance and Climb checks. A leopard can always choose to take 10 on a Climb check, even if rushed or threatened.

Wow, very cool. I dunno about making it size large, looking at the creature sizes in the players handbook, large is really massive. I'd say the upper side of medium, and advancement into large. But that's just me.

I like this, it is a very cool idea. Intelligent good frost-leopard. Yoink, perhaps...

I like the sound of it, though I'm probably a bit biased. I've been writing a few elemental beasts of my own.

hm... A paladin riding one of these would make an interesting counterpart to goblins riding worgs... I am so pitting them against each other. Wait a minute. Do you need to make a ride check if your on one of these tings when it pounces??

Because I like to make your life that much harder.

Seriously, I didn't even think about it. Sorry about that. Anything I post in the future I'll link to in the main MiTP2 thread so you can find it easier.
