This tall humanoid stands before you, the air around it crackling with electricity, slight of build it’s hair standing on end it stares at you it’s eye sockets just full of crackling electricity, a malevolent grin across its face. The air around you changes as a bolt of lightening flies out of its hand towards you.

Storm demons live on storm clouds above the abyss, in huge fortresses built on top of them; they are often found in the material plane causing chaos and destruction in their wake. The air around a Storm Demon is filled with static electricity creating an EM field preventing metal from touching it, this “spare electricity can be released at their will in the form of lightening bolts. These demons enjoy torturing and slowly killing their prey with electric charges, scorching the flesh off the bone.

Shocking weapons(ex) a Storm demon can summon a shocking burst axe or javelin as a swift action, these disolve into background static a round after the Storm demon lets go of them
Lightening bolt(su) once ever 2d6 rounds a Storm Demon can release a lightening bolt from their fingers, as a Sorcerer of the same HD. After releasing this lightening bolt their DR is lowerd to 0 and increases by 5 each round until DR10.
Skills Storm demons have a +10 to escape artist and jump checks

As usual this is not quite finished, I would like recommendations on CR (I think 9 is right but not sure) and any suggestions on how to improve. Thanks

Interesting.
First off, it only has a +7 dex bonus, not a +12.
Following that, I think it should be CR 9, but I'll take a better look a bit later

I've changed the Dex. dunno why i thought it was +12, I'm not sure about weapon finnesse as the idea was that they use axes and javilins, so weapon finnesse wouldn't have a majour bonus

This creature looks like a giant ape covered in black chitinous plates, over 9ft tall, with dozens of spines rising out of its back with electricity crackling between them. You hair sands on end with static electricity and you feel as if all the metal on you is being pushed away from the beast

In each castle there is only one Storm Lord, the supreme masters of electricity these demons crave nothing more then death and destruction, they hunt their prey through stealth and then when the time is right they pounce letting off blasts of electricity, devastating forests and even cities. Storm lords are never found together they seems to be unable to step within 100 miles of each other due to the high levels of electricity concentrated in each of them.

Call lightening Storm(su) once every 2d4 rounds after the end of athe spell a Storm Demon can release a Lightening Storm from their spines, as a Sorcerer of the same HD. After releasing this Lightening storm their DR is lowered to 0 and increases by 5 each round until DR15, untill a Ligtening storm is advailable a Storm Lord cannot use the lightening bolt ability.

Technically there is a 1/16th chance that there repulsion effect wouldn't be back to full strength when they can lightning bolt again which is a SLIGHT contradiction as to what level of energy they have gathered around them. Of course to get terribly nitpicky and perhaps kill some cat-girls the amount of energy in a chain-lightning is probably LESS than in a lightning bolt just the chain-lightning is more carefully directed.

Might want to consider making it so they can't use lightning bolt while chain-lightning is recharging. I am pretty out of it with exhaustion, so it is just a semi-random thought.

I've made some of the changes, that i though appropiate, the recharge of a lightening bolt before the DR isnt a major thing and i dont really want to change the recharge rate, if you think i really should be changed I'llt hink about it agin. I think Ligtening Storm is the right spell, I've leant me PHB to a friend and so cant look it up, It's a druid spel and is allong the lines of a bolt every round, I cant remember too well.

the DR falls after the bolt becase the DR is created from a EM feild which is then discharged in a lightening bolt and had to be built up again.

I have a few questions, what happens if it summons a javelin and then gives it away? Does he get to keep the Axe/Javelin for as long has he wants? He would be pretty rich if he could just keep making them, and then giving them away every 6 seconds wouldn't he?

Okay cool, the I vote MitP: Yes And not to be rude, but in the shocking weapons, you misspelled "Round" "Roung". Just thought you might not have noticed.

Lightning Javelin Attacks appear to be off. Should be (BAB 7 + Dexterity 7), which is Attack Bonus 14 and 14/9 on a Full Attack.

Skills are almost right, but I think Jump is off. Should be 10(24) not 10(28), I think.

Otherwise, a nice Monster.

Storm Lord's Skills are similarly in a state of disarray.

I've just gone over the skills and BAB and adjusted them accordingly, the reason for the high Jump is the 100ft movement, giving a bonus of 28 to jump.

I'd give the Storm Lord a higher Natural Armor bonus. I'd give em both SR around 20, and some resistances to other types of energy besides electricity. Otherwise, Awesome monster. Mitp: Yes

omg ftw! i have been looking for something exactly like this for so long!!! i like reusing characters, and the last time that we saw my friends wizaed (abandoned after that session but still in the world somewhere) he had ust discovered that his staff emmited lightningbolts! so i was toying with the idea of having him go through an elemental transformation.....

i dont know if he would turn into this or have a few as minions, but it is perfect for that idea! thanks!

I've used some of the suggestions, thanks, I'm not going to give other energy resistances because i think that would make them a little too powerful, and too much like a tanari, are the CR's still ok?
