With the rise of Narfell and Raumathar, the elves that had settled in the Yuirwood saw future disaster in the use of magic by these two nations. The decision was made to make a safe refuge, and a demiplane was formed. The star elves abandoned Toril for the demiplane of Sildëyuir in -699 DR, and until recently, they have stayed there. Now however, with large amounts of Sildëyuir ravaged by the nishais, alien sorcerers from the Astral, the period of isolation has ended. The star elves have returned to Toril in order to gather new allies to deal with the threat of the nilshai.

The Star Elves have been isolated from the rest of Toril for centuries, but now, more than ever, is the time to return to the realms, and there is now debate over opening up their refuge and attempting to find allies. The tempest that threatens their sanctuary means that more and more star elves are returning to Aglarond and other lands in the east.

As well as the standard abilities for Elves in the Players handbook, you have the following traits as a star elf -

Ability Score Increase - Your charisma score increases by 1.
Otherworldly Touch – you have an edge in fighting extraplanar foes. Between sunset and sunrise, your armour and your melee weapon you wield have the ghost touch ability, and can deal damage normally against incorporeal creatures.
Extraplanar – As you are not native to the material plane, Banishment and Dismissal return you to Sildëyuir.
Bestowal of Sildëyuir – You have advantage on saving throws against magic from the enchantment school.
Planar Discernment – Star Elves have keen senses even by elven standards, and have a sense for portals. You have proficiency in perception, and if you pass within 5 feet of a secret door or portal, you are entitled to an investigation check with advantage to find the door.

Here is my take on the Star Elves of Toril/Sildeyuir, as detailed in the FR Guidebook Unapproachable East.
