I've decided to start my own D&D based song thread. Any song you can think of is acceptable as long as it fits the class and/or race/monster variety or character and doesn't have an explicit title. Also if it doesn't have any graphic lyrics you may link to it as well. As for my contributions see below.
Paladins, knight benefactors, marshals of liberty and celestials: Chariots of Fire. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYJzcUvS_NU&mode=related&search=)
Paladins, knight benefactors and marshals of liberty: We Are the Champions. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sogKUx_q7ig)
Mephistopheles and Asmodeus: Sympathy for the Devil. (http://www.keno.org/stones_lyrics/sympathy_for_the_devil.htm) Of course I got this idea from Dicefreaks.:smallwink:
Any more ideas?

Renegade master is actually written about D&D... I assume it's a halfling rogue with a rapier. Actual lyrics:
"Back once again with the renegade master, d4 damager, power to the people."
Seriously, d4 damager?

Where I lay my head is home - Metallica (Rangers in general and Horizon Walkers in particular)
Nice choice, wrong line: it's actually called "Wherever I May Roam".
"I've been Everywhere" (johnny cash) for the same group
I think "Lust for Life" (iggy pop) should be good for barbarians.
"Forward to Death" (dead kennedys) for soon-to-be-martyred paladins
"Man with the dogs" (also dead kennedys) for druids, maybe ranger with a canine companion
"The Mariner's Revenge Song" (decemberists) for any swashbuckling seafaring type character, great for a BBEG dread pirate
"Gold Digger" for dwarfs :smalltongue:
"Black Math" (white stripes) for geometers
"Hypnotise" (white stripes) for bards and any charm/dominate magic user
"Devil in her Heart" (beatles) for a female warlock
"God's Love" (bad religion) for clerics, favored souls, paladins
"Don't need it" (bad brains) for anyone with Vow of Poverty
"This song has no effect on you" (arrogant sons of bitches) for low-level or just very ineffective bards
"Wish" (alien ant farm) for anyone using that spell

O Fortuna - Mozart (it's in everything)
"O Fortuna " is by Carl Orff, isn't it (the opening of Carmina Burana)? If so, yes, that's like the most overused "boss" music ever.
Ravel's Bolero - Modrons.
Path of Glory (Demons & Wizards) - Paladins
The Immigrant Song - Barbarians
Total Eclipse of the Heart - Shadowdancer

Yes. "O Fortuna" is movement one of Karl Orff's Carmina Burana: Cantiones Profanae, a very famous adaptation of a selection of pagan poetry. This music is frequently used for Big Bad Evil Things in both bad movies and those D&D sessions that have soundtracks. Other parts of the Carmina were adapted into everyone and their jock brother's favorite video game boss music, Nobuo Uematsu's "One-Winged Angel" from Final Fantasy VII, which I've also heard used. In a Hunter game of all places.
[/music history]
Personally, I like some orchestral Wagner and Holst's The Planets for epic concepts in general. It's like John Williams, only original.

I'm not too sure but I think the theme from blazing saddles with a little tweaking would make a fine bard song
Rogues: Been Caught Stealing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rc53eG1Gbv0) - Jane's Addiction (It's my rogue's theme song)
"I've been caught stealing;
once when I was 5...
I enjoy stealing.
It's just as simple as that.
Well, it's just a simple fact.
When I want something,
I don't want to pay for it."
Similarly appropriate is Gallows Pole (http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/ledzeppelin/gallowspole.html) - Led Zeppelin

Not a bad list Raven. I might even use some of these, especially Mr. Crowley, but most likely only if the PCs are unlucky enough to run in to Mephistopheles. Of course this would only be played after Sympathy for the Devil. Aren't those the best songs for the cold Lord of Cania?

Can't remember the band, but Sex Dwarf is really good for any Dwarf character :amused:
Also almost anything from Manowar, Dragonforce, Blind Guardian, Rhapsody (of Fire), Stratovarius or Teräsbetoni (you need to understand finnish to get the last one.... pure greatness )
LoTR soundtrack is good, such is soundtrack from any BG.
Also don't know if people know it, but our regular DM uses this music he calls The Official Role-Playing Soundtrack, whatever that is. Mostly good, but the "battle" music is horrible.
I could imagin a fighter singing between his Great Cleaves "Another one bites the dust".

Soft Cell. Although I'd bet any Dwarf would brain you if you tried to get him with your chaffeur in a naughty situation on a leash... :)
For Arcane Archers, Order of the Bow Initiates, archery-leaning Rangers, and other ranged combatants: Heart's "Song of the Archer"
Blackguards, other fallen fighter types (particularly if they're royal albinos of sorcerous bloodlines): Deep Purple's "Stormbringer"
Groups of Barbarians: Metallica's "Damage, Inc." ; Slayer's "War Ensemble" ; Queensryche's "Anarchy-X" ; Ted Nugent's "Free-For-All"
Monks: Motorhead's "Iron Fist"

Fighters and Paladins: Dawn of Victory, Emerald Sword, Holy Thunderforce, The March of the Swordmaster, all from Rhapsody. Valhalla (since it is an energic music), Touched By the Crimson King, Excalibur, from Blind Guardian, Iced Earth and their union: Demons and Wizards.
For Arcane Casters: Rain of a Thousand Flames, Black Dragon and The las Winged Unicorn, all from Rhapsody or Luca Turilli Dream. Also check The Dark Tower of Abyss.
For any other moments: The Bard's Song (Blind Guardian), The Mighty Ride of the Firelord (rhapsody), and a few musics from a band known as Fintroll... If I can remember well there are 2 or 3 songs very appropriate to RPG fantasy settings.
For Paladins, Clerics and Holy warriors alike, try the band E'Nomine. Vater Unser is the most paladinish song I know.
And for more festive occasions, try Tuatha de Dannan and Angra. They have quite good songs.
If you want to know more, visit: www.metal-archives.com and check out for these bands.
