I decided to make my own version of the Summoner (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pc1xAzhGcGr0dPH82QhXYOmM8vCigi0enImh0V2XGX4/edit?usp=sharing) as a half caster. The link leads to a Google docs page of the class I completed. Making a pet class balanced without stripping the independence of the pet (*cough* BM Ranger *cough*) was fairly hard for me to create but I think I did a really good job at its damage progression compared to the other classes in the book.
EDIT: I was able to finish everything so the below no longer applies!
Currently I'm having trouble making balanced archetypes (planar origins) for the class. They're all over the place at the time of posting this and I'm likely to change them constantly. Any suggestions are appreciated and they don't have to be suggestions for the current ones. I don't think I'll need too much help with spells, I'm just being lazy about it.
