Has anyone run any D&D 3.5 games where they've allowed a wizard to double specialise? I.e. give up 4 schools to get the specialisation bonuses in 2?

I'm just curious as to the validity, the power and the balance of such a notion before I decide whether to allow it in my campaigns or not.

Does he gets 2 extra slots per level or no?
Anyway there is ways to super specialize in one school to get 2 extra slots per level.
However they cost feats or dips in prcs I believe.

There is an ACF that lets you sacrifice an additional school to get 2 more spells per day for each spell level of their specialist school

What I mean is;
Assume "Illusionist Diviner"
Sacrifices 3 schools(2 for Illusionist, 1 for Diviner)
Gains 2 bonus spells per day(1 for Illusion spells only, 1 for Divination spells only)
Gains +2 on Spellcraft when learning Illusion or Divination spells.

Well...

Changeling Wizards can dual-specialize in Illusion and Transmutation; the net benefits and drawbacks they get over a normal specialist are:

1. Their extra spell per day at each level can be used on a spell from either School.
2. They lose an extra School.
3. The bonus to Spellcraft when learning a new spell applies to both schools.
4. They add an extra spell to their spell-book at each level.
5. All three spells they gain at level-up must belong to Illusion or Transmutation.

Just replace Transmutation with Divination, and Bob's your uncle!

Also, it might be interesting to go through the books, find all the ACFs that modify your ability to Specialize in a School, and break them down to be nice and modular.

Like:
• Sacrificing two schools gives you the basic benefits for one School.
• Sacrificing another school extends the benefits to an additional School.
• You may forgo adding your "free" spells to your spell-book from Schools other than your Specialist School. Doing so lets you add an additional spell to your spell-book each time you gain a level in Wizard.
• You may forgo an additional School and one spell per level to gain two additional Specialist slots.

You can only pick each option once, so your Focused Specialist Diviner/Illusionist would have to lose 4 Schools to gain the benefits.

Thanks for that, good to know there is an official thing thats similar to this point.

That's actually similar to what I'm doing right now; going through all ACF's for all classes I allow and just make a list of all the ACF's I will allow.
