Hello again,

I've been working on a conversion of several classes from the Book of Vile Darkness (3.0 supplement) to 5th edition. One of these is the Demonologist, a wizard who studies demons almost exclusively. With the release of UA: That Old Black Magic (Found here (https://media.wizards.com/2015/downloads/dnd/07_UA_That_Old_Black_Magic.pdf)) demonic summoning becomes a possibility for players. As such, I present the Demonology Arcane Tradition for Wizards. Keep in mind that this is still a work in progress, and all suggestions are welcome. You will find similarities to the Necromancy tradition, as I used that tradition as a chassis.

Wizard: Demonologist

A Demonologist is a wizard who has devoted his or her life to the study of demons. Such wizards are masters of interacting with and controlling demons. Because of their constant interaction with such evil creatures, Demonologists are invariably evil. A wizard must be Evil to select this Tradition.

Demonology
At 2nd level, you learn Abyssal. You also gain proficiency in Intelligence (Religion). Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check that uses Religion.

Demonic Familiar
Starting at 2nd level, you have bound a lesser demon to your will. You learn the spell Find Familiar, if you do not already know it. When you cast the spell, you may have your familiar take the form of a Quasit (Players Handbook page 309). If you attempt to create your familiar in any form other than a Quasit, it appears in the form of a Quasit. Additionally, when you take the Attack action, you can forgo one of your own attacks to allow your familiar to make one attack of its own with its reaction.

Master Summoner
At 6th level, you add the spell Conjure Lesser Demon (UA - That Old Black Magic) to your spellbook if it is not there already. You also gain the following benefits:

When you cast a conjuration spell that summons a demon, you may take 10 points of damage to draw a circle with your own blood. Doing so causes the circle to function as if it was drawn with the blood of an intelligent humanoid slain within the last 24 hours.
You have advantage on checks made to control demons as part of a spell.

Abyssal Corruption
Beginning at 10th level, you have resistance to poison damage and cannot be poisoned. You have spent so much time interacting with demons that you have gained some of their abilities.

Dominate Demon
Starting at 14th level, you may use magic to bring demons under your control, even those summoned by other wizards. As an action, you can choose one demon you can see within 60 feet of you. That creature must make a Charisma saving throw against your wizard spell save DC. A demon with the Magic Resistance trait does not have advantage on this saving throw. If it succeeds, you can’t use this feature on it again. If it fails, it becomes friendly to you and obeys your commands until you use this feature again. Intelligent demons are harder to control in this way. If the target has an Intelligence of 8 or higher, it has advantage on this saving throw. If it fails the saving throw and has an intelligence of 12 or higher, it can repeat the saving throw at the end of every hour until it succeeds and breaks free.
