Every time I post a message here, it adds some weird line at the start saying "please click this link: ~unknown link~" without me typing it. It only happens in this forum, and never happened to me befor. Any idea what might cause it?

It doesnt appear here because I always edit my post shortly after posting them, removing the weird link.

Maybe if you did not edit your post (so people could actually see the link) it would be easier to figure out what might be causing it?

please click: http://www.radiodeejay.hr/forum/lang/inexed.htm

There it is. Don't click it, I have no idea where it leads.

At least on my computer, the link doesn't seem to lead to a page that wants to load.

It appears to be a Croatian Internet Radio site. Does that ring any bells for you?

I'm really curious to see if this gets figured out.

(For clarification, what Rawhide posted a link to is a program to remove spyware like the thing which is adding that link at the front of your posts. I've always thought the name Spybot: Search and Destroy has never sounded like it could be helpful to your computer.)

I'll recommend two other Spyware programs.

1) AdAware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/), made by a company called Lavasoft, has a very good free version of their tool. On the link I gave you, there's a green button on the right hand side of the screen to download the free copy.

2) SpySweeper (http://www.webroot.com/consumer/products/spysweeper/?id=H2-HHO_Links-SS&WRSID=56a3f6b870dc2dfc0ac55a7fc4e4521b), by a company called Web Root, is a very solid tool. It's good enough that I'm willing to pay for it. On the page I linked you, there's a link over on the right hand side to perform a free sweep.

I've also heard good things about Microsoft's anti-spyware, actually, but I've never used it.

I highly recommend you go with two products, whichever two you like the best. Run "Product A" then when it's done run "Product B." When B is done, re-run A and continue on the cycle until everything is gone (or, at least, until you're left with just the same things over and over).

If you get to a point where your sweepers continuously find the same Spyware on your computer, but for whatever reason it can't be removed, check out the site Major Geeks (http://majorgeeks.com/). You should be able to find instructions and tools for removing any of the persistent ones that won't go away from the sweepers.

And as a follow up: Don't download things off the internet, don't install any free programs and no, that pr0n video you want to watch doesn't need you to download the right video codec.

I might be pretty dumb, but I did think of running a spyware scan in my computer befor posting this. didn't help.
Any other suggestions?

Did you run multiple different ones, as I suggested? I can't tell you how often I help people with this sort of garbage, and one Spyware sweeper finds nothing, but a different one finds the problem?

If you did that, did you go to Major Geeks as I recommended to search for your problem, and see what their recommended solution is?

On the site referred to you by Rawhide, I highly recommend you check out their forums. When my wife's computer got infected by a piece of Malware, they walked me through, step by step, on how to remove it.

This thread here (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=279) is particularly helpful if you want to stop your computer from getting infected in the first place.

If you have been infected, read this thread first (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288). It will tell you what to do and how to format your posts.

Then you can make your own post in this forum here (http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22). They are very knowledgeable and helpful.

And as a similar option, Major Geeks has the same sort of deal. Here's the starting point (http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407). They walk you through all the scripts to run, how to run them, etc. Once you've followed the steps, You'll want to start a thread on this forum of their site (http://forums.majorgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=35) once you have everything gathered - and that assumes their steps in the thread I linked don't resolve the problem outright.

I really appreciate your help, but I was looking for a solution for this problem in particular, and not for a whole lot of anti-spyware programs. I got enough of those, and I think my computer is well-protected already. Besides, it doesn't worth wasting so much time reading on forums and downloading tons of programs just to solve this moderately-annoying problem. I'll live with it.

Thanks anyway guys. (Though if you can think of a fast, easy solution, I'd like to hear about it  )

This is a solution for this problem in particular, as there is nothing on this site that's doing it. The most likely explanation is that you have a virus or spyware.

I Goggled for "radiodeejay spyware" and found someone on another forum with the same problem. I noted that most of the Google results were in other languages (mostly Spanish and Russian I think), so whatever it is may not be common in the English world.

Microsofts Malicious software remover isn't too bad, and Windows Defender is actually pretty good at defending your PC from what's out there, but it's not much help for cleaning stuff you already have.

Oh, here's the link to that other forum. It looks like they just ran the gamut of anti-spyware stuff and one of them got it.

The thing is, many malware programs are designed to lower/circumvent whatever malware protection that you already have, which then makes it easier for other malware to get on your computer. If you are infected with one, chances are good that you have a couple of others floating around on your computer as well. That is why most of those sites have you run through a bunch of steps first. It allows them to clearly determine what has infected your computer. Once they know that, they remove them in a specific order.
