So I am wanting to fit the role of healer and support for an upcoming game Elemental Evil, SCAG, and Unearthed Arcana are open for use. As for support I do not mean JUST buffs and debuffs but also some field control. A few things should be noted right off, I have Minor Illusion for free (Gnome) and would love to keep Mold Earth and Find Familiar on my lists for RP reasons. Despite being a Gnome, though, I do not necessarily care for illusion spells above other schools--my RP only goes so far.
To mine understanding Sleep is a decent spell to have at the start for battlefield control. Also, every time I can I would like to be taking my Life domain spells so that I can eventually open up all of the Cleric spells. This means I will want Cure Wounds at level 2 and Bless at level 3. Regardless of how Theurgy might be worded, at our table it is 100% one domain spell per wizard level, and will likely even be one cleric spell per level even after domain is spent.
