Journal Entry 1:
Phrama 27th of Sennda 1597
Darian arrived at the city of Tyre by land, the city was not as large as Kyrin but it was no town either. Thick, high walls surrounded most of the town and at the northwest corner stood a mighty fort upon a hill in the city that kept a vigil watch on the buildings below. The docks he could see from afar were busy and with activity, and he stood there looking at what would be his next home hopefully. Darian made his way down to the docks and saw the workers quickly moving crates and barrels from the nearby warehouses to the ships docked. The harbor master and his underlings were quickly checking the products from the ships to make sure everything was in order before moving on to the next set of items.

Darian decided to head up to the town square where he found many different shops and branching paths. He noticed some of the sailors heading down an alley and decided to follow them. He found some interesting signs marking the buildings such as the Woman's Bottle, Sea to Nowhere, and the Turtle and the Egg. He headed into the Turtle and the Egg due to the interesting name and found himself in a low lit room with smoke already heavy in the air, mixed in with the heavy scent of alcohol. He made his way to the counter at the opposite end of the room and ordered a mug of ale.

He talked with the barkeep who he assumed was a halfling and asked about the work available in the city. The barkeep, Langan talked about that the lord of the city Brann Greydeep has issued a proclamation that would allow those who got the paperwork done would be able to hunt the pirate captain Keras Sisay. Greydeep in his proclamation wants her back alive and would pay handsomely to the people or person who brought her and her ship back. Langan talked about also about work as a dock worker as they were always in demand, Darian could also find work on one of the ships that were currently dock or he could even work as a bouncer for Langan. He also mention that the local thieves guild might be offering work if he did not tight morals as well.

Darian thought about his options and as he did, he looked around the room. He heard some men to his left talk about moving goods down at the dock but that the goods were too hot. Knowing the general gist of what they were probably talking about Darian went to talk to the gentlemen seeing potential work in front of him. He approached the men and said that he wanted to help them and said that he was the man to help them get it done. One of the gentlemen there who called himself Stormcloak said if he was serious they was something he could do to help prove if Darian could be trusted.

Stormcloak said that there was a small package just outside the fort that he needed Darian to retrieve and if he could bring the package back he would be let in on the job. Darian agrees and after learning the details he needed made his way to the fort. Once there he made his way up against the wall and after turning a corner he saw the package about 5 in. width rested on a 8in. ledge. Darian carefully made his way to the package picked it up and then made his way back.

As Darian was making his way back a guard spotted him and asked what he was doing so near the fort. Darian successed on bluffing his way out of it by saying that he was new to the city and was just exploring. Since the lord's proclamation many new people have come to the city so the guard let it slide.

Darian made his way back to tavern but was stopped by some strange men. They demanded the package in exchange for Darian's life but due to some quick thinking Darian was able to switch the package for a food ration package and gave it to the strange man. Darian made it back to the inn to see that the men he was talking to were surprised that he came back alive and after some quick exchange of coins between them, Stormcloak led Darian away.

They came to a shady part of the city, where most of the buildings seemed ready to break at the slightest touch. Stormcloak led them to a very large building that looked better than the others and after a quick exchange of a password at the door they were led inside. The room was large and had about 3 doors on each side but at the far end was a makeshift throne with a very strong, lean man sitting on it.

Introductions were made, the man on the throne was called Goren the leader of the thieves here, and the package given to him to which Darian discovered it was SEAWEED. SEAWEED is a very addictive drug that is suppose to help with mental processes and could help spell casters but can quickly destroy the body and mind if it is not taken regularly. Goren was impressed with Darian and wanted to work with Garroth (Stormcloak) with moving goods from one of the warehouses down by the docks. The goods were behind a secret room in the warehouse and he wanted to make sure that they could be moved before the gurads found it. Darian agreed to help and Garroth and one other man named Zen joined him and went down to the docks.

Garroth tasked Darian with distracting the guards and when Darian gave the handsignal that Garroth showed him, they would make their way to the warehouse. Darian decided to sneak onto a ship and lit the spare rope he found on fire, one of the guards noticed him as he walked by and tried to stop Darian. Just as this happened the ship started to really catch on fire and the few men left on the ship started shouting and yelling to get help to contain the fire.

The guard more suspicious now again tried to stop Darian, but Darian threw some sand he had on him at the guards face and success in temporary blinding him. The other guards were distracted so Darian gave the hand signal and he was soon joined by Zen and Garroth as they made their way to the warehouse. Once inside they found the goods but Garroth and Zen betrayed Darian and tried to kill him.

Garroth explained he didn't know why but Goren had ordered it and he was inclined to follow his leader's order. Though Garroth and Zen took him by surprise Darian quickly dispatch the two leaving them in a pool of their own blood. Darian raided the crates in the warehouse taking anything valuable that he could carry. He then set fire to warehouse to cover his tracks and made his way back to the town square.

Once there he decided to the stay at a local inn that also doubled as a brothel known as the Primrose, which was a fairly nice inn as well. After paying upfront he spent the night all the while thinking about what his next move was going to be.

The next morning after cleaning himself and shaving his face, he made his way to the Record house where he could get the papers saying he could hunt the pirate captain. He figured he couldn't stay in the town much longer and he barely had enough coin to keep him going so he decided he might as well join a crew and try to make some cash as he tried to get away from the city.

He was led into a waiting room where he awaits for others like him who are would be getting the papers to hunt the pirates perhaps he might find some people who could protect him, but all he could do now was wait.
