He everyone. I was wondering if anyone had any insight about ingame crafting of explosives. On page 267-268 of the DMG it gives some great rules for using / purchasing explosives, but I was wondering what the best way to implement crafting them into a campaign?

I would like to perhaps limit it to someone who has proficiency with a particular kit. Perhaps a new kit would have to be homebrewed, or maybe an existing kit such as tinkers tools would suffice? I thought about a kit that contains a keg of gunpowder, some fuses, and other supplies necessary for the creation of explosives. I also thought about adding a few explosive devices to the list similar to the thunderstone and smokestick found in the unearthed arcana artificer class.

Any idea about how to best implement this?
