Pegicorns are the rare equine offspring of male pegasi with female unicorns, though they may be of either sex themselves. They are always infertile. A typical pegicorn stands 6 feet high at the shoulder, weighs 1,500 pounds, has a wingspan of 20 feet, and sports a single ivory-colored horn about 2 feet long from the center of its forehead. It has cloven hooves. Pegicorns have white coats, white wings and brown eyes. They are highly prized and not easily tamed. Only half of all pegicorns speak Common and Sylvan though all of them understand those languages.

Combat

Pegicorns normally attack only when defending themselves or their forests. They either charge impaling their foes on their horns like lances and strike with their hooves or strike with their sharp hooves and powerful bite. The horn is a +3 magical weapon, though its power fades if removed from the pegicorn. Hooves and bite are always secondary attacks for pegicorns; a pegicorn cannot attack with both its horn and bite at the same time.

Magic Circle against Evil (Su): This ability continuously duplicates the effect of the spell. A pegicorn cannot suppress this ability.

Spell-Like Abilities (Sp): At will, a pegicorn can use detect good and detect evil within a 60-foot radius as a free action (caster level 5th). As a standard action, a pegicorn can use cure light wounds three times per day and cure moderate wounds once per day (caster level 5th) by touching a wounded creature with its horn. Once per day it can use neutralize poison (DC 21, caster level 8th) with a touch of its horn. The save DC is Charisma-based.

Wild Empathy (Ex): This power works like a druid’s Wild Empathy class feature except that a pegicorn has a +6 racial bonus on the check.

Skills: Pegicorns get a +4 racial bonus on Spot and Listen and Move Silently checks. * Pegicorns have a +3 competence bonus on Survival checks within the boundaries of their forests.

Training a Pegicorn

Although intelligent, a pegicorn requires training before it can bear a rider. To be trained, a pegicorn must have a friendly attitude toward the trainer (this can be achieved through a successful Diplomacy check). Training a friendly pegicorn requires 8 weeks of work and a DC 25 Handle Animal check. Riding a pegicorn requires an exotic saddle. A pegicorn can fight while carrying a rider, but the rider cannot also attack unless he or she succeeds on a Ride check. Young pegicorn are worth 6,000 gp per head. Pegicorns mature at the same rate as horses. Professional trainers charge 2,000 gp to rear or train a pegicorn, which serves a good master or mistress with absolute faithfulness for life.

Carrying Capacity: A light load for a pegicorn is up to 300 pounds; a medium load 301-600 pounds; and a heavy load 601-900 pounds.

MLP doesn't differentiate between pegicorns and unisi, does it? Both are alicorns but it depends on which is the mother/father as to how they are named and the specifics. I created the pegicorn after the unisus had been done. They aren't the same (like ligers and tigons). See here for the Unisus: http://www.enworld.org/cctest/newcc/Conversions/Unicorn,%20Unisus.htm

Dragon 190 had the Alicorn in it (and seriously the only difference between a unicorn and an alicorn is that the alicorn has a twisted gnarly horn). The unisus was the crossbreed between pegasus and a unicorn. That article had a bunch of unicorn variants including a zebracorn. The good folks over at Enworld are converting all the monsters from Dragon Magazine to 3.5. It's been a huge project.

I was also asked to create an evil version of the pegicorn. So that will be statted up shortly as well unless someone beats me to it. Needs ruby red hooves and flaming mane specifically.

Should it be pegacorn or pegicorn?

EDIT: evil pegicorn below.

Fiendish pegicorns are even rarer than standard pegicorns. They stand 6 feet high at the shoulder, weigh 1,500 pounds, have a wingspan of 20 feet, and sport a single ebony-colored horn about 2 feet long from the center of its forehead. The have ruby red cloven hooves and flaming red manes though their coats and wings are jet black. They have red eyes. Fiendish pegicorns cannot speak but understand Abyssal or Infernal.

Damage Reduction 5/Magic: A fiendish pegicorn’s natural weapons are treated as magic weapons for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction.

Smite Good (Su): Once per day the creature can make a normal melee attack to deal extra damage equal to its HD total (maximum of +20) against a good foe
