I was hesitant to make this thread, but I think that if I avoid posting mine until later it will be equal opportunity.

Some, maybe most, maybe few, people on this forum who homebrew have 1 homebrew in particular that is their pride and joy. It could change from time to time, but it can be one in particular at a time. It's possible that you might have more than 1, but try to pick one.

What is your one pride and joy of homebrew? Link only one and it doesn't have to be any particular system or edition or even on these forums. Feel free to edit it to another if you want, but only one. Also, for visibility, please make the text for the link larger than normal (or distinguished in some way) because it's possible that discussion will happen and it would be nicer to be able to look for posts with homebrew.

Again, as per the highlander "There can be only one."

I'll link mine later. Maybe.

Hmm. The Professional (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=332829) has been used in more games, but I'd probably have to with the Tome of the Holy Grail (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?362608), a 3.5 subsystem about getting possessed by heroes. (Apparently they turn people into gishes.) It's approximately a billion words long, and I started work on it around 2010-2011.

...I'll be back when I finish it... Whether it's the skillcasting setup I have a good few dozen things to type out because I decided to go with build-a-spell or one of the other subsystem ideas I have, possibly being the approximately half a game system I've got worked out or just the little all-day casing setup I thought up, it'll be interesting when fully typed out. And linked here.

The Monster Hunter. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?310386-The-Monster-Hunter-D-amp-D-3-P-Simon-Belmont-the-Class-v-2-0)

I really want to update this for 5e one of these days.

The Clergy Vigilant (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?517339-Clergy-Vigilant-Simpler-sword-and-casting-class).

Not too strong. Not too weak. Useful all the way. Currently my favorite homebrew.

Figured I'd let others post their treasured homebrew first to be fair.

Freeform Class Selection (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1n8-emDAoVGEBLiNua6W55NOBgsXllcHmTGy9jrVuqVA/edit) for Pathfinder. I put a lot of work into trying to balance it. It works to a functional degree, and I've run a few games with it to some success and player enjoyment. There's a few people out there that still use it, I see the occasional game on the Paizo forums that people make with it, but I haven't kept up with any of them. The ironic part is I hate it. I love tinkering with it. I love GMing games using it, but I HATE making a character in my own system. It's sad, really.

I fell off the wagon on updating it after the ACG came out, and then Occult Adventures and the Vigilante BURIED me as far as available class breakdowns go. But I think I have it fairly well balanced for the Core and Base classes. Spellcasting has been reworked the most (of course) and I'm still not sure which of the three or four systems I've tried out is best.

For me, the #1 pride and joy of my homebrew tends to change from time to time, depending on which one I'm currently working on and which one I've heard the most praise about. I pride all my works with equal measure, but right now, I would say it's the Roguish Archetype: Inquisitor (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?504982-Roguish-Archetype-Inquisitor-(PEACH)).

Probably because the previous one is pretty much as ready as it can be (Warlord (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?482261-PEACH-Warlord)).

Overall, if I had to guesstimate (I haven't kept book about the times I've received praises of them), Warlord might score higher than Inquisitor, but Inquisitor is still a bit work in progress so I'm more "sensitive" for the feedback regarding it.

In general I prefer to balance my homebrew against the existing rules, so that they might be seen as equal instead of being seen superior to them.

PS: Currently all of my homebrew what I have made public are for 5th Edition D&D, but I have made some homebrews earlier for Pathfinder, too. Though I'd have to revisit them before I would dare to post them here.

Probably STaRS (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?361270-STaRS-the-Simple-TAbletop-Roleplaying-System-5-0), my homebrew rules-light system. I'm also pretty fond of my final Fighter (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?276280-GitP-Fighter-Fix-18343-3-Ziegander-Grod-Tag-Team-Action!) rewrite.

For me it's a no-brainer: the first item in my sig

- If I had to choose one class in it, I'd probably go for Dragon Evolutionist (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=18777479&postcount=23). It's wonderfully versatile, nails the tier and power sweet spot, and is the most complete class I know of at embodying its role.
- For a race, I'd choose Mandrake (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=18777385&postcount=6).
- My favorite homemade monster is the Reflecter (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=18778222&postcount=31).
- Template... that's easy, the Nosferatu - the only template I've ever made. It's accessible via the link to the new monsters (click the Reflecter). It's in the monsters section mainly because taking a 5-level hit is painful and hardly practical power-wise.

As for why 4 and not just 1... well, you can't really compare apples and oranges.

[EDIT]: Giving it some though, in terms of magnitude of effect, I think that my greatest achievement (in my view at least) is the better alternative I came up with to prestige classes (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=18777401&postcount=10) (i.e. "Spellcasters and Multiclassing", and the idea behind "Multiclassing and Path-Devotion").

My bias definitely falls with my own home brew I've been adding to and play testing for a year. It's a 5e sci-fi supplement with a commitment for realism and small bits of art I've been making for it. If you want to take a look it's open for the public to look at and edit for free. check the link if you want to take a look.

I really love my Custom Weapon Generation System (3.X and Pathfinder) (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VJNynrpwteY3NLoXRMrPXkEdUZMJJxZokWidA16ef_w/edit?usp=sharing). It's definitely my favorite project to work on and I'm quite proud of it.

I also really like as my Revised Fighter (Pathfinder) (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VJNynrpwteY3NLoXRMrPXkEdUZMJJxZokWidA16ef_w/edit?usp=sharing), specially the archetypes that let players create inspiring warlords and super-heroes!

While I have seen loads of d&d takes on drive able minimecha, I've managed to create a somewhat successful rules set for them in World/chronicles of Darkness, which is kinda weird. Was apparently semi popular on the OP website, but not so much here since we're mostly did.

First link is for the giantip version which. Is out of date by at least 3 updates.

Second link was the last update I made on the primary side.

There's none that I'm actually happy with, partly because most of my home brew is relatively old and the standard of writing I displayed when I was younger is just bad. With that caveat, The Iron Fist of New Atlantis (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BxPbaxURu-atNDY3YjQ3NTYtNGUwNi00OWUzLWFkYzctYTk5MDRiYTNkMjA3 ) is probably in first. There's a part of me that still has a soft spot for my 40 page campaign setting though, mostly because it's the longest single work I've done.

Hm. This is a rough one -- most of my work is very old, and, although I've had rave reviews for some of it, I'm not that confident myself.

The two that PLAYERS seem to like the most are the Seiškona of the Iron Bands (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?136589-Sei%F0kona-of-the-Iron-Bands-(In-Need-of-Vestige-Ideas)) and the Madspark Eccentric (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?127043-The-Madspark-Eccentric-3-5-PrC). I'm including these links if people are interested -- I know the OP just said one link. Oops. :smalltongue:

My personal favorite -- and the one that cheers me up every time -- is probably the Whimsycap Toadstool (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=6124916&postcount=12). I just love that I took the time all those years ago to make a non-animated plant into a valid part of an encounter, and I think it fills its role in an interesting and unique way. Plus...something about mushrooms is just funny to me, I guess.

Behold! The Lantern Shield! (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?519381-Behold!-The-Lantern-Shield!-(PEACH))

I like interesting weapons, and this is the swiss-army knife of real-life interesting weapons. It was high time someone converted it for D&D.

What?! No magical butter statistics?!

It would depend on the spell and ultimately end up looking a lot like a potion only in yummy butter form.

Just an FYI for anyone interested: 100 lbs. of butter is 400 sticks of butter. A stick is 8 tablespoon. Just so we are clear, a tablespoon of a magical butter would be equivalent to a single potion. Furthermore, the magical butters never go rancid. They can be administered like an oil to an unconscious victim. The magical butters can also be use in cooking but are ineffective if too little is consumed, i.e. one tablespoon per serving, so these tend to be rather high calorie dishes.

Edited for butter details.

I don't have much proper homebrew, but the only thing I've posted is the most "unique," Fire Emblem Manaketes (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?486403-Manaketes-from-Fire-Emblem-Crouching-Human-Hidden-Dragon-%28LA-1-no-RHD-see-how!%29). Of course I decided to post it in reponse to someone else's take so. . . I'm pretty proud of cramming "no-action-cost dragon shapeshifter" down into something that compares to LA+1.

But that's a pretty specific thing. More generally I think I've put together some excellent spell lists and tweaks for the Hexblade, Sohei, and Healer, but aside from the Hexblade spell list that's not posted (Hexblade here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?498005-If-you-were-me-how-would-you-feel-about-spell-compendium#post21121849), just the spell lst).

I quite liked the inventing project but then the discussions stopped and you stopped adding stuff.
You made an hypermundane bard before I did start to have a vague idea on how to make a grammatically correct sentence for my hypermundane bard project(I am horribly bad at grammar)
I guess I can scrap it.
