This small triped is coloured a strange mottled yellow with light blue stripes down its back. It looks at you curiously through a massive, black compound eye, where you expect a head would be on a normal animal, and begins to whine a high pitched bark yowl. The sound crescendos until it is unbearable; then it is released in a horrible brain splitting boom.

Sonic Burst (Ex.)
Every 1d4 rounds houndeye may take a round to charge and release a burst of intense, high pitched sound. The houndeye begins charging on its turn as a standard action and at the start of its next turn it goes off in a 10 burst centered on the houndeye dealing 2d6 points of sonic damage and forcing any effected creatures to make a DC 15 Fortitude save or be stunned for one round and deafened for 10 minutes. Houndeyes are immune to their own Sonic Burst and those of other houndeyes. The save DC is constitution based.

Good stuff, and I'm a big fan of Half Life. But houndeyes should have pack-based abilities. Like, their sonic blast should be powered up based on how many houndeyes use it at once in close proximity.
