It's an idea! It's probably terrible... :smallbiggrin: *shrugs*
So having looked at 5e sorcerers and people's opinions on them a bit, it seems like their point of excellence is high specialisation magically. A specific element, e.g. fire, a particular style, e.g. area effect debuffs...
But when building to a style, the limiting factor often seems to be the sorcerer spell list. Would a blue dragon sorcerer love call lightning? Well, it's not on the sorcerer list. But with access to any list, sorcerers could niche-ify much more effectively, without having to multiclass.
Would this be overpowered? Concentration and the highly limited spells known should probably prevent horrific shenanigans, but I haven't put that much thought into this. :smallwink:
